5:09 You just ate that with your hands probably without washing, after roaming around that city touching God knows what. However, that vendor probably plated that food without touching it. Most foreigners, just like how you did, eat streetfood with their hands in India, without doing the proper hygiene practice of washing hands which is required for eating with hands, and then blame the streetfood vendors, not even sparing a thought that they themselves are probably the ones to blame for getting the bug. Especially when they do not have the same gut microbiome as locals. So next time you hear any non- Indian crib about how they got the runs after eating Indian street food, don't forget to ask them if they washed their hands before eating it, after touching multiple surfaces in such a crowded city.
While I agree, this sounds like you took it personal when the video is clearly done for information purposes and not to be rude towards any locals who are just trying to make money and do not have the means to always keep everything fresh. My friend recently visited India and he also came home with a stomach bug. And since we met in a forum for Emetophobes (people afraid of vomit) it's very evident that he did anything he could to prevent it. If you eat a meal like chicken that has been exposed to the heat and maybe cooked in old oil, it's almost guaranteed to make you sick, even if you wash your hands.

Indian cuisine is one of the best in the world but has sadly been unfortunately been misrepresented by the image of street food vendors. These vendors primarily cater to the less affluent locals who have built up immunity from daily consumption, not tourists. As a lower-middle-class family, we strictly patronize established eateries, avoiding street food. It’s misguided for tourists to criticize Indian food based on their street food experiences, as it’s not intended for them. This misstep leads to an unjust critique of the rich and diverse Indian culinary landscape and plainly ruins our image.... I travelled India in my early 20s on a tight budget for over 4 months surviving off a lot of street food, and I only got ill once on some fish down south. It's the chain restaurants like Subway you have to be careful of most of the time. Most street food stalls are safe so long as there's a reasonably good flow of custom to keep the food hot and fresh. For the taste it's worth the risk every time.
And these street food have people watching over them as they make it so they do need to start hygienic. While in many fast food places, the did making is behind the scenes and we can't see what's going on so they may actually be more unhygienic
A little bit of dirt and rough around the edges isn’t the end of the world and many traditional countries are like that, not squeaky clean, but as long as they’re basically clean, clean enough it’s fine. India has many social problems, but we should judge Indian food fairly and without prejudice and not be too judgemental. I think a lot of Indian food is tasty.

Based on a few attention seeking tourists , you have money and choose not to eat at a restaurant but a poor mans vendor and expect hygiene food lmao what foolishness and entitlement.
