thank you for the explanation. I curious how far away from the TOD allows you to push the altitude knob to start the early descend? is there a specific distance lie in the system logic? like in your video it won't descend in managed mode, but close to the TOD, it can descend in managed mode
Man, pull where? Open descent where? Trying to change altitudes with selected headings and speed, nothing happens. I’ve tried to detect where in the video you are “ pulling” to set open descent and can’t see any movement. Help, please.
@@mikecluskey7301 : what I have learned in the past month is to set the altitude number in the FCU window, then “pull” the knob. In the new MSFS, I accomplish pulling by clicking the center scroll wheel on my mouse. To set managed speed/alt, you right click the mouse over the knob. Hope it helps.
Quick question, why when i click on manage alt , the airplane doesnt follow the altitudes in the F plan ? It shoukd come out as purple. But it just comes out as blue , as what ever i have it set to
the aircraft will climb/descend to the selected altitude unless the FMGS flight plan has an altitude constraint in managed mode. eg: you select 10,000ft, and manage for a descent. if the next waypoint has an altitude constraint of 12,000ft or above, it will stop at 12,000ft, even though 10,000 is selected, until the flight plan no longer indicates that constraint. In this situation, the altitude selected will remain blue, but a magenta 12,000 should appear.
I cant go from MANAGED to SELECTED mode for Heading or Speed .... I am the runway at idle ... I cCLICK the bottom and the top of the individual buttons nothing changes. Obviously we cant Pull or Push so TOP click is PUSH ? orr....
too kme 8 months to get to this... sorry :/ not as of yet, as instead of making it a how to tutorial series i'd like to answer specific questions or misconceptions, i also havent been active for a looong time
very broad question. a bit like asking "why is my airplane not flying?" are you in managed mode? what altitude do you want to keep? rewatch the video, because it should answer most of those questions
@@merryfacegaming990 I am in managed mode but I still have to set an altitude. For an example if my cruise alt was FL340 and I am in managed mode, but it is still says 5000 ft on the autopilot panel, it won’t climb, even though it is in managed mode
@@Tom-js3iz as the video explains, the managed mode is for descent and climb profiles. The cruise altitude in the MCDU is used purely for calculation purposes. You'll need to set the altitude in the window.
Hey, in your video you talk about pushing and pulling the bugs. Ever since the latest A320 FlyByWire update the Autopilot is heading off in a straight line, not the planned route. Am I right in thinking the plane needs to be in managed mode? The problem I have is that I can't work out how to push and pull the bugs. Help! Thanks, Paul.
hey Paul! I haven't used the FBW in ages, but I'll load it up soon. My initial thought is that it may be changes to match the recent SU. Have you tried using Right click + Left click? That's how a lot of things are working now in MSFS. The rotary knobs on the autopilot panel can be pushed or pulled. Pushing manages and pulling selects. Without more info, I'm guessing that you are indeed not in managed mode. Like I said in the video, the heading display on the autopilot should have three dashes and a dot to indicate that it is in managed mode
@@merryfacegaming990 Thanks for getting back to me. I've tried left and right clicking, I'm just not getting managed mode on the FBW build, I'll try the stock build later to see how thats working. 👍
@@01Peebee10 hey! so some googling shows that this is the result of the new interaction system. Try going into legacy mode, otherwise, it seems like the buttons have an upper and lower clickable zone. The lower zone pulls and the upper zone pushes. hope you get it
This is the very video I've been looking for thanks dude..
Excellent tutorial! Just getting into flying the A320 in FS2020 (Fly by wire mod of course ;p) This really cleared some questions up!
glad it helped
cleared up many questions!!!! Thank you!
thanks a lot for the tutorial!

How do I 'pull' the knob? If I right or left click it, it still. Stays in managed
I have this issue too kept trying and never manage

What aircraft and sim?
Anyway the ground Logic Is a bit different to Flight mode. Set the V1 and V2 to get the managed Speed.
Do you have anymore videos about this aircraft?
