Have you watched my second laptop video where I used a monitor on the laptop? It can do 120fps+ consistently and way smoother than a ps5. Ps5 drops to much frames.

of course the advantage is insane,the player on 100 hz plus against a 60hz will see the other player first and plus connection on top of that,its not skill its just advantage but if you have skill will make it better...

No. I dont have a true 1080p monitor with real time fps but have played enough on a 1080p and I can still feel the frame drops. Unless I do 1080p on this monitor since this monitor has real time fps but it wont be true 1080p I guess

Latency is mainly from how far you are to a server. It could be bad download/ upload speeds, outdated drivers, not using an ethernet, if using Ethernet try a new one. First I would do a speed test.
You don’t need to change the hz. You have to enable 120hz option in screen and video settings and in game settings. This is only if your monitor has 120hz+

1440p 144hz is by far the better choice. 4k 60hz will be very laggy just better quality but its useless. Never waste your money on monitors that are only 60hz

I switched from ps4 with a 60hz monitor to a ps5 with a 165 hz monitor, and I can confidently say that the difference is galactic
