I recently got into the habit of carrying my Field Notes around and just wrote random to-dos and other things. I've been thinking of using it as a planner lately. These give me good ideas.
Maybe you can jot down your favorite memory or gratitude for the week. Some people like incentives for accomplishing goals, maybe that could be your prize for the week.
You could add water to your list, and in the blank box you can add do something special for your wife or kids. Something thoughtful that doesn't cost anything, that brings you closer to your family. 😊
I agree with another commenter, I would write down what your grateful for during the week! family, discipline, kindness of a stranger etc. ...I love how you have the rest set up though!🙌
Love this! I thought I had drilled down to bedrock with my bujo, but this is 🔥- a lot of info organized very efficiently. For the blank box, maybe track sleep? I'm a weather nerd and would be putting my weather icons there. So blessed to see your faith reflected daily. TFS!
Love Field Notes for their cover designs, grid and dot options, and especially love they are made in the US. Looking forward to putting your ideas in action. Love that you are a student of God’s word!
Pretty cool. Personally though, if its only a week to a page it would take too long to fill up for me to stick with it. Also, since there's only 48 pages in Field Notes, One notebook isn't enough for a full year. But if it works for you that's what matters. In that blank space, you could probably put a few specific prayer intentions for the week, probably just write the name of who needs the prayer, you probably remember and God certainly knows what they need.
I appreciate how you have yours laid out…i have the field notes but then was looking for something smaller and have the plotter mini…but I am going to do something similar with my layout. Thank you for sharing this.
This is a great starting point for pocket notebooks. Thx! The bottom sections I will use as a Life’s Lessons of the week. The second row of 3 in the daily tracker will help me monitor my triathlon training. Thx again for putting this out there.
You might use those extra squares to experiment on something you’re not sure you want to track. I use that Field Notes size book to do a very simple version of a 3 month bullet journal. Last year when I was sorting out what to include I made myself try something for a whole month before deciding it was ok to drop it if not working out.
wow I love this set up! I never thought about using the small Field Notes as a mini bujo, but you have done this and it is very workable! I'm going to try this when it's time to get another notebook. I don't have a lot going on in my life, so there's not much to write down frankly therefore I don't need a whole lot of notebook in which to do it. Wonderful video.
Hello, I really like your notebook! It's perfect for men who don't carry a bag around. I had a couple of ideas for your blank box... you could track your water intake or you could use that space to write something important that you can't afford to forget, like a dentist appointment or an upcoming birthday. You could even trace the box with a highlighter to make it stand out. 😊 I know you already have a to-do list at the bottom, but sometimes things can get lost there, at least for me 😂
The empty space, if it were mine, I think I would track my hydration / dehydration. I struggle with staying hydrated. And because I have had surgery recently, I would track my PT days there and grade myself on reaching certain goals. Hope that helps.
15 squares in that little space. You could put half an “X” every time you recite your verse, that way two times would make an X in each square and you’d recite it 30 times. Or put a little dot in each corner for 60 times. Or you could make a water log, two squares is a day, one dot in each corner is 8 glasses a day. You’d have one square left over for a smiley face.
Ya it's not a lot of room, but I honestly never have more than I can fit in there. It's mainly just little reminders for myself. This small pocket notebook does not replace my larger Moleskine where I keep a planner/journal. I have a separate video on that one. I't where the main calendar is with all my bills and stuff.
New to your channel. For the WEIGHT SECTION: I would continue to write down your weight for each week. It would fill up the section. You have a great layout!
Love this! I like sunnyday's idea of an appointment or birthday in the blank space. What about average step count for the week? I like your verse and Bible reading plan. I also use YouVersion to help keep me on track with a plan, which I have currently fallen behind. So I would for sure add that to my checklist! Happy Sunday, Carsonial!
Hmm, I bet you could! I'm pretty old school and just use paper notebooks, so I'm not much help in the iPad or writing apps. Maybe someone in the comments can chime in on this.
You could possibly use the section you have blank for either personal development or staying ahead by updating your knowledge for your career, hobbie or technology etc.
Just a thought: why to carry a complete notebook if you are interested in only one week? I'm using a modified pockemode, which takes much less space in my pocket, for the same purpose.
I have seen several responses about water consumption, something that I need to track. I am using the main idea shown on the right side only. I modified the left side, using a vertical time line to track daily blood pressure plus swim distances for the days I swim. With this modified version, an 8 block grid on the left side could be used to monitor water consumption. That still leaves plenty of extra space for other information a person wants to add, like a running plan for the week, Bible Study reading, physical therapy exercises, etc.
Great setup. I like how you incorporated your Bible verse for the week and reading plan. I need to stop overthinking it. LOL. Maybe you can add a 1-5 star rating for how your week went in the blank spot. I like the simplicity of your notebook. Thanks for sharing.
I read a Bragg book about ACV and realized it's many benefits for health and wellness. I'll add the link in the video description. I don't drink it for weight loss even though some may do that. I just do it to keep from getting sick, but it has many benefits. It can help with blood pressure, skin, kills germs, etc.
I've spent a good amount of time reading about it, researching, etc. I rarely ever get sick. It's not for everyone, it kinda tastes like clown feet, but it can be very beneficial.
I walked away from the video, not remembering exactly how it was set up. Your setup allows the notebook to be used for almost a full year. My only using the right hand side will allow for 6 months. With physical therapy starting, I can use the left hand side to write down specific exercises that I need to do, or additional notes. I wrote my goals to be checked at the top, as you have them. Then I have Plans/Appointments (without times) under that which can explain obstacles to not achieving goals. Appointments or Plans, like a class to attend at the YMCA can be circled (if completed) or X out if missed. An arrow from the center of a X means postponed. I already have a daily planner, this is a great way for tracking progress.
Good video. I’d encourage you to track body fat %, not weight. Muscle weighs more than fat so it can give false impressions if going to the gym. Amazon has lots of low cost but accurate smart scales. Hope that helps!
@@Carsonial have you ever considered printing your own templates for your daily sheets and binding them into a notebook? Could save you a lot of time in drawing those out for each week. Then again, it will take a little bit of time to print and bind. Could make for an interesting video?
@carsonial In a space where 98% of the ‘planning’ videos are by women it’s encouraging to see a man. And not only a man, but a God-fearing man. Thank you. Sharing with my son. Oh, perhaps using that small left over space for one memory for the week. So you can look back and remember the Goodness of God 🙌🏼
Great layout! Just be careful with the apple cider vinegar habit. Talk to your dentist or hygienist about the best timing and oral hygiene procedure afterwards 😅
You could use the blank space for an intention or focus for the week that’s not something you need to quantify. Pragmatic examples would be “Workshop” if you want to make progress on organizing or on a project, or “Resume” if you want to make updates or changes - just a gentle nudge to keep it at the forefront for a week to make some progress. Other examples would be like “look for the positives” or even “take a deep breath” or “put down that phone” 😊
What ideas do you have for this? Leave a comment and let me know!
Great idea for weekly planning!
Maybe write down the name of the book you are reading! Or write the name of the person you had coffee or visition.
@@davemcclure9685 not bad!
Thx for sharing this. I included the year at the top right, just in case I wanted to reflect back.
Maybe including a mentoring focus. Who am I being mentored by and what am I working on. Plus, who am I working with and what are we working on?
