Awesome presentation ❤
Very helpful!!!
Thank you!!!
Amazing!!! Thank you so much for these detailed instructions! I am a pen novice!!
That was helpful. I tried filling mine for the first time via the nib and it just wasn't working, doing it with the cartridge directly solved the problem. It's 2am here, I didn't want to play around too much but couldn't resist giving it a try! I have a purple to try out but went with green umber this time around. :)
Same for me! I thought something was wrong with my pen, until I tried it with the cartridge directly :)
I love my Lamy Safari because it's a great fountain pen and because it's made in Heidelberg Germany! (Just like me) I purchased a Lamy pen because I thought it would help me with my cursive writing, something I got away from doing but now I'm getting back into it. Wish me Luck.
Great vid - very helpful. I have always loved my Lamy pencils for technical drawing and have just started enjoying my calligraphy with a Lamy Safari. Many thanks and cheers from Sydney - Dave (love your accent!).
Hi Dave, I love Lamy for their simplicity.. everything just works!
Hi Robyn, nice video. However, what works the best, especially if the pen hasn´t been used for awhile, is really to remove the nib, feeder and the guide-rail thing, and clean all the parts. I do this every time I refill the converter, and it doesn´t take that long either.
Excellent, this helps very much, thx for posting!
A drop of jik works wonders for those pen burps or ink change or refill days... didn’t realize you were in jhb... I am in durban - nice to see a fellow fountain pen friend...
Hi Aubrey, nice to meet you too, and thanks for the tip! There are lots of fountain pen addicts in SA and always nice to meet a new one
Thank you for this video! I appreciate it! Biggest worry about getting bottles of ink and a covertor is leaking nips and spilling it over. I feel more confident now!
Acabo de comprar el convertidor y una botella de tinta Lamy Crystal ...gracias!! 👍
Thanks for this short guide. New to Lamy. Can the Z27 work with the LX?
How much is the G52 converter with automatic Refill indicator and the rkg semi stop filler
great video
Hi, may I ask if the old cartridge still has any use? I know it sounds a pretty dumb question but I just wanna make sure before I dump the old cartridge coz I wanna use those bottled inks now.. I'm new to fountain pens..
Hi, so the only way I can think of to re-use the cartridges is to take a small syringe and carefully refill them with ink from your bottle. The cartridges only take about 1 ml of ink so you only need a small syringe. Thanks Robyn
Very useful, tysm.
Se pueden mezclar las tintas para que nos dé otro color, gracias por la información
Thankyou so much!!!!
You say that you can change the colour of the ink used in the converter but can you change the colour of the ink you used in the pen? or It's not advisable to do so? Thank you
Hi Mónica, the ink in the converter will be the same ink that goes into your pen and flows down through the nib. You can change the colour of the ink you want to write with by removing the ink cartridge or converter and then rinsing out your pen in some water.. then you can change the ink colour by using a different colour cartridge, or putting different colour ink into your converter and.. you can also just change the ink in the pen without rinsing it out first if you don’t mind the ink colours mixing as you write
Great guide! However, my mom accidentally scared me while I was closing the ink holder so now it’s everywhere on my desk, my notebook and of course the book I am currently reading 😅
Ohhh no! I have a few ruined pieces of clothing from ink accidents 🙈
My Z28 converter will NEVER refill fully!
Thank you 👍🇩🇰🙏🥂🍾🌞
Hi I have bought a lamy al star extrafine yesterday with the converter.... sometimes stops working and i have to shake the pen or even turn the converter in orden to push the Ink into the nib.... is it normal with a new lamy? Am I doing something wrong? Thank you
Hi Fernando, I’d suggest rinsing the pen like I do in the video just to get rid of any old ink (the pens are tested at the factory so there may be some dried ink in your pen.. wipe the nib to remove any residue (manufacturers add a coating to keep the nibs shiny whilst in the shops and this can sometimes hinder ink flow).. then put the ink back in and try scribbling a bit to get the ink flowing.. sometimes with new Lamy’s it can take a short while to het the ink flowing, although this is very unusual
I also have a video on ‘how to set up your new Lamy’
I have the exact same 'problem' and I think it's because the more ink is flowing out of the reservoir, the more negative pressure (or a vacuum) is building up in the converter. To counteract that I have to give the converter a twist to bring the piston towards the nib and get the ink flowing again.
I have that problem too! It seems like there might be some air trapped in the ink canals. My Safari worked without any problems with cartridges, but with the converter I am struggling to keep the ink flowing. Really sad about that, as I bought the converter to reduce plastic waste.
i have the same problem... works fine with cartridge..but with converter ink flows stops intermitttantly..any solutions?
To be honest.... I have bought a twisbi and works much better than lamy
OMG
lately i've been interested in fountain pens after discovering them while walking around the stationery shop. thank you for the video, it explains a lot
