Analyzing Evil : Donald Trump (Home Alone 2)
That’s vile I subscribed
The five laws of stupidity comes to mind watching this villan.
Richmond Valentine is practically a blend of everything that any warlord or despot in Western history has ever dreamed of, combined altogether with the pizzazz that Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk ever hoped to project onto people.
Can you do one on Sauron?
It's a pretty good analysis, though I feel you missed out on something rather important. His relationship with his lethal bodyguard/henchwoman Gazelle. How considerate she is of his needs and his fragility when seeing blood or death, how much he seems to rely on her and how well he knows her.
Didn't the movie imply they used to f*ck?
Let's not forget she's also the ONLY person in Valentine's entire circle that he never put an implant into.
@@gregelchert752True, but he seemed more scared than angry when she died. Without her, he was defenceless and definitely going to die, and his plan was no longer going to work. That's a tough pill to swallow. He obviously did trust her though.
"A fly spiritual tech guru that Mark Zuckerberg only wishes he could be."
Someone give this man a Pulitzer Prize for that line alone!
🤣🤣
Bruh! That's the line that had me too. It just FITS!
@@DatDarkOne I know right?
The shade is real.
I honestly loved this villain and for Samuel L Jackson it was a really different role to play, but he absolutely killed it
Yup
Samuel L Jackson is such a great actor but there are so many roles where he's cast as the exact same character. Love when he gets to really flex his acting ability and play unique characters.
He was ok here but he was f-ing disgusting in the best way possible in Django unchained.
Jackson + Tarantino = F-ing gold every time.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 He was great here, what are you talking about?
Is there a role that Samuel L Jackson wouldn't absolutely nail?
Richmond Valentine is practically a blend of everything that any warlord or despot in Western history has ever dreamed of, combined altogether with the pizzazz that Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk ever hoped to project onto people.
The real evil is how he wore crooked fitted hats the whole movie like T.I.
By the way, you should analyze the evil of “Bishop” from the film “Juice”
I half-thought you were recommending Bishop Vick from Vampire the Masquerade, before I saw the rest of this comment. But I guess it's a barely known and not that complicated of a character.
I would love to see that character
Absolutely!
@@starhalv2427 and you beleive all of the characters profiled so far are "widely" known?
I would like to see that done too Help em.
Dude the sim cards went in the phones the neck implants were to protect his chosen few from being driven berserk, and the head explosion security measure for the few that knew of his plan.
Killing four billion at random seems grossly inefficient when the problem can be better solved by killing just the few hundred select targets who are directly responsible for causing, prolonging, and exacerbating that problem and replacing them with people who will make the necessary changes.
Or just literally everyone in his party at the end of the movie. The elites want us all to die but don't understand they're the problem
based
Exactly it’s about WHO you kill not how many
That means admitting him and his friends are the ones responsible
Big Oil sweating nervously
LOL I totally forgot Samuel L Jackson has done ALOT of villains in his roles. Like even Jules from Pulp Fiction is even a villain considering he's a hitman for hire to take people out!
Sammy Jackson makes villains memorable, his role as The Octopus in The Spirit is one of the only reasons I even remember that movie.
Could you please cover Clay Puppington from Moral Orel?
Yeah him as a samurai and a nazi is quite memorable you fart
Don't forget Mr. Glass
@@minatodroger7890 and Mace Windu
Spoiler For Unbreakable (2000)
On the subject of Samuel L Jackson, I think that Elijah Price would be an interesting villain to analyze, particularly due to his reasoning and history that led to him committing his crimes. You never miss on your content, keep up the good work!
2023 update: it happened!
Definitely a good villain.
You should do Elijah price next for analyzing evil
Very good one
Good suggestion.
Valentine reminds me to a certain degree of Otto Octavius from the Spider-Man Ps4 game. Someone who originally intended to do good for the world, but after being pushed back from actually being able to affect change, abandons all his ideals to make sure this goal is fulfilled.
Speaking of which, I'd love if this channel could cover some of the Spider-Man foes like Doc Ock or the Green Goblin!
I'd love that! Plenty of interesting video game villains to cover
@@an-animal-lover Yeah! I'd also love seeing a few others like David from The Last of Us, Mother Brain from the Metroid games, Scott Shelby from Heavy Rain, and Saren from Mass Effect!
@@an-animal-lover Sephiroth should be covered for sure!
It's almost like a _What if?_ Nick Fury was the S.H.I.E.L.D. mole, instead of Crossbones.
Zemo: Hail Hydra!!!!
Fury: Bitch, please! *shoots with silencer*
George Carlin felt the same way. He said if humans are being a nuisance to the planet, the earth will shake us off like a dog with a bad case of fleas.
Definitely a very underappreciated villain, especially how one usually expects Sam Jackson to play "cool" villainous characters and Valentine is anything but. It's a shame how the woefully inferior Kingsman 2 had such a weak follow-up of a main antagonist in Poppy Addams.
Poppy Adams alone is no Richmond Valentine. But I can't deny that her 50s inspired Lair built into a Cambodian Temple, her Robot Dogs Benny and Jet,and her overarching evil plan of forcing the World's Governments to legalize all Drugs on the same level were very inspired and unique concepts perfect for the Kingsman universe.
Even the concept of the Failed Kingsman Recruit and son of the corrupt former Kingsman Leader coming back for revenge is a pretty great idea,I just wish they built up the rivalry between Eggsy and Charlie more.
Yeah I actually liked her. And I liked the continued trend of the main big bad just being a businessperson rather than the main fight.
One of the most lovable villains done so far, obviously a bad goal with evil means, but he is so enjoyable while doing it.
I really can’t wait to see you cover Homelander!
He was basically Thanos but without the immense strength and stoicism, but he had a sense of humour to make up for it.
I always thought Richard Valentine was a highly, highly underated villan. He always made a point to be a very polite and amicable, and offered the world a deal that would be too good to pass up. I enjoyed that you brought up instances where his darker side manifests. I noticed this after watching the movie and always went back and forth in my head trying to decide if Valentine truly believed what he was doing was the right thing to do despite it obviously being brutal and unfair. Especially since he was giving a large group he was friendly with immunity from the carnage, or if his entire polite persona was simply a mask he used to take power after losing faith in the normal means of trying to make a change ( funding politician's/lobbying, hiring scientists and research teams, ect..). The old addage " the path to hell is paved with good intentions" imediately came to mind. Great video as always!
Rupert Pupkin from The King of Comedy. One of the most fascinating and mysterious protagonists in all of cinema. He initially comes across as an annoying and obnoxious little shit, but slowly and subtly, the film eerily hints at the loneliness and desperation that secretly drives him.
This reflects the weakness of mind in the whole "good guy Thanos" mentality. I get that it's (ostensibly) tongue in cheek. But the unraveled cognition that can believe genocide is a good thing, even jokingly, is dangerously nihilistic.
(Similar to Oxymandias in Watchmen.)
The way to undertake the Malthusian quest is to avoid breeding, no borning = no killing
@@Scrubermensch As long as it's willing, and not enforced
War is a much better evil than genocide, at least you give your targets a chance to fight. It is more honorable.
@@Scrubermensch The Master from the first Fallout had the right idea.
Something I consider interesting about Valentine's character traits is what while he's willing to kill or kidnap people for his goals,he's not overly sadistic when it comes to handling his Captives.
The opening scene with Mark Hamill's captivity in the most cozy Moutain Cottage and the nicest Henchman I think I've ever met in a Film
,to the immaculate So called "Dungeon" that the Princess was in at the climax of Valentine's Mountain Stronghold.
Nice Henchman and a lack of unnecessary Violence actually do alot to actually make you like Valentine's villain. What's the point of beating them up and torturing them when a polite conversation in a lap of luxury might do the trick.
Even when he kills the Professor his remorse, while funny, is greatly acted where it does Feel like Valentine didn't want that to happen in his best case scenario.
note, the sim cards go into the phones, the implant was a "counter agent" for the people he didn't want to have effected by the "signal". Nobody had to implant anything, they just had to swap the free sim card on their existing cell phone... the cheese AND the trap, as it were
This is yet another reason why Kinsman is such a good movie: it portraits malthusians as evil.
Analyzing evil: Light Yagami from deathnote
Klaus Schwab would love Richmond's plan.
Climate change is a scam used as an excuse by elitists to cull the gullible masses. It’s a form of religious fanaticism for useful idiots, most of whom have never planted a tree in their lives.
I agree .
Lately I've been seeing many analysing of evil characters I've never heard of (Last one I did know of before watching a video from this series was Baron Harkonnen). Not that I complain, but I would like to give a recommendation:
Johan Liebert, from manga and anime "Monster"
Watch this film then, it's a treat (specially for Bond fans)
I second this.
Fucking...YES! Such a great Manga.
@@karlosmarcos5587 I already planned on doing so, since I've heard it has great fight sequences.
He did do Griffith from Beserk 😉
Analyzing Evil : The Crooked Man ( Wolf among us)
I was JUST rewatching gameplay for that game! It’s amazing and I’m always happy to see other fans!
Holy fuck Among Us
Sus
One who understands the game you're talking about (technically two, now) and two who are making lame Among US jokes despite the two games having no similarities🙄
@@an-animal-lover sussy
Valenitine was such a fun villain and he complimented the excellent action movie he starred in very well.
It's a shame about the sequel.
Valentine is definitely one of the most interesting villains I’ve seen in a long time. I’d love to see you do an episode on O-Dog from Menace II Society, that is one villain that deserves to be analyzed. Keep up the great work.
MY MAN... O-Dog would be great, but they have to do Nino Brown first...
I've never left comments on your videos but I have toy let you know that I love your videos. The analysis you provide on characters is phenomenal and not just detailed, but very intelligent and cohesive. The music in the background sets the theme perfectly and yet it stays out of the way so as not to be overbearing or derive your attention from what is being talked about. Awesome work on all ends, please keep making these as long as you can!
Some augestions:
Vaas montenegro (far cry 3)
Bill (falling down)
Fletcher (whiash)
Homelander or butcher (the boys)
Great video!
I thought the neck implant was only for his coconspirators, not the general populace. The SIMs were otherwise only in people's phones which relayed the acoustic crazy signals etc.
Thank you!
I absolutely love the Kingsman series!
Might you be analyzing the Sheppard from the 3rd movie? I'd love to hear your take on that mass-murdering psycho.
I remember when I saw that Samuel L. Jackson was the antagonist for this movie. It felt like coming home on a Friday evening and seeing an old friend you haven’t seen in years sitting in your living room. You are baffled for the unexpected surprise but ecstatic because you gave him a spare house key as proof that the OG is always welcome to your crib.
It would nice to get some LOTR villains, Like Sauron, Saruman, or Gollum
That would require like 2 Hours each lol
he is going to cover sauron
are they villains though? it's debatable... especially Gollum...he's more of a victim than a villain....but it would be great if Vile makes a LOTR video
Yessssss 🤩🤩
As Elrond said of Saruman “It is perilous to study too deeply the arts of the enemy for good or for ill”
I would like to see a video essay about the portrayal of media in the film _Batman V Superman_ as this would-be omnipresent villain that is even more threatening than Batman's mourning-spurred rampage, Lex Luthor philosphical crisis, the government/esthablishment and *the looming and corrupting shadow of Darkseid and Steppenwolf lurking from beyond the stars...*
Hell yeah.
How about an episode on Dexter from the show "Dexter." That would be a fun one. My wife and I are on season 07 right now and really enjoying it.
@Windward To Eden Dexter is more like an anti-hero, instead of a villain. So he'd be perfect for Analyzing Evil's vigilante analysis video series he was talking about doing.
Dexter isn’t a villain in the traditional sense. He has a moral code he strictly adhered to until this very last episode. If he were a cop who diligently worked these cases and got these ppl the death penalty, he’d be a celebrated hero. Same if he was a prosecutor. Dexter just cuts through the bureaucracy. He thoroughly investigates the murderers, gathers evidence, then executes them. Dexter saved thousands of lives.
Not gonna spoil for you but just don’t get your hopes up during the finale
you got your *video*
“Y’all talk so funny”. His best line. Menacing
Omg what a pick this is awesome!! Thank you, I just finished binging some of your videos again. I love your work!
As a villain suggest because I don't think it's been covered yet, how about the Hagar from Midsommar?? Would be cool!
Thank you again for your awesome videos!
Oh that’d be great!
I liked him as a character. He was unique as far as a villains go. He's disguted by gore and blood Has a lisp. Which isn't a big thing but it's rare for villains to have any kind of qurik. Add to the fact he thinks he's doing the world a service. Makes him a very interesting villain.
I love that Samuel L Jackson has played three of the subjects of your character studies.
What were the other two?
@@an-animal-lover ok so I was wrong he’s only done two. He did one on Stephen from Django. I totally made up in my mind he did one on Mr. glass. Lol. We can hope.
@@leahhart3585 ooohhh
@@leahhart3585 Stephen was Jackson?
@@an-animal-lover yes from Django unchained. It’s a great movie.
Analyzing Evil: Homelander from The Boys
Can next be Light Yagami from Death Note?
These villains always fascinate me. No matter the time period or technological advancements, they all tend to go down the same pathological path. Still, I wonder what paths in villainy Richmond Valentine would’ve taken if technology wasn’t so advanced. He has the intelligence, charisma, and interpersonal skills to move from plot to plot, so I’d say he would’ve been a truly successful villain no matter the place or time. As for a future villain I’d love to see The Vile Eye tackle, Supernatural’s Azazel and Lucifer are great villains to explore. Shadow King from FX’s Legion is another excellent choice.
Why are all the coolest characters named Valentine, Jill Valentine Johnny Valentine Funny Valentine Richmond Valentine
cool last name!
Cause Valentine is a cool last name, let’s be honest.
True
I always thought it was pretty funny how evil he could be for someone so seemingly cowardly. He cringed so hard after he shot Harry, almost dropping the gun he used to kill him
It's not so much cowardice, but squeamishness. Its the blood and gore he has a problem with.
Ironic, I know
Those neck chips actually are trackers with charges in them, the SIM cards just caused those sounds that triggered Murder Hobo mode
First and foremost, I love the excellent perfect breakdown of this character's villainous nature and motivations. I've been so impressed by every single character looking at them from two perspectives. I would love for you to do a video breakdown on Fullmetal alchemist's brotherhood villain called father and the homunculus. They are worthy of your critique.
Analyzing Evil: Officer Abel Turner from Lakeview Terrace
Still waiting for Vic Mackey from The Shield
Don't know if you take suggestions but an episode on Mr. Burns from The Simpsons could be a good one. He goes from regular, everyday villainy to cartoon super villainy.
Suggestions: James Moriarty, Grindelwald, John Wick, Shredder, Draggo Bloodfist, Celestial Dragons(World Government one piece)
John Wick? Evil?
@@an-animal-lover Yea that's one of the things that makes those movies so great is the fact that the protagonist is someone that the villians are afraid of because he used to be a villian and still kind of is a villian he may have stepped away from the life for a little bit but that doesn't change the fact that he spent Decades being an efficient ruthless Killer a villian that other villians feared and respected.
For more on why it works and quick breakdown of how they did this check out the channel Savage Books for their John Wick video where they discuss hyping up the villian or hero as he is framed in this movie.
An episode on Homelander would be really dope
I thought the only people that had a device implanted were the higher ups, they thought it would protect them from the signal the SIM cards would emit, which it did, but they weren’t made aware, of course, of the ability for it to blow your head off. I didn’t think regular civilians got an implant… it was just the signal from the SIM card that was making them fight
Edited for grammar
That's what I got from the move too.
Yes the free SIM cards went into the common people's electronic devices, not implanted into people. The only people who received implants were the VIPs meant to survive the culling. Kinda surprised the vile eye misinterpreted these details
Vile, it's "couldn't care less" as in incapable of caring any less.
This was 🔥🔥🔥 Kingsman have good thing going right now. Killmonger Analysis would be class👌
I feel like Glass would be a good next pick.
Yessir
Your videos continue to amaze me, this is definitely one of my favorite UA-cam channels! I am excited to see what other characters you do analysis on. This is a request here but I hope you are able to do an analysis video on Sailor Galaxia / Chaos from Sailor Moon (an important aspect from the entire sailor moon series especially the manga), JD from Heathers, or Akito Sohma from Fruits Basket!
Fun fact, Samuel L. Jackson really DID have a lisp before he took up acting.
I recommend the character O-Dog from the film “Menace 2 Society”. The film does a good job of showing how the circumstances that an individual is born into can shape and more so define who you are “meant” to be.
Analyzing evil vids are awesome. I’m waiting for a Negan or alpha and beta analysis. ALSO after analyzing so many evil characters, I’d love to see a top ten video on who are the most evil with #1 being the worst of the worst in your opinion or based on analysis or votes.
I think something that people miss is that Valentine only intended to save the people in that bunker, as well as all the guys we see have their heads blow off. Not a single person in that scene wasn’t living in lavish luxury, except the soldiers in the compound. Not only is he in insane mass murderer and terracidal maniac, he was also completely blind to how his wealth makes his actions unnecessarily weighted and somewhat idiotic. Why leave all the people who were making the world worse out of their own greed alive but kill everyone else?
Sam Jackson plays a great villain.
He just plays a great character in general I think
at 7:30, you mistakenly said that the people would have to implant the sim cards into their necks to get the free internet and cell service.
The neck implants were for the people he was saving, to make sure they would be immune to the effects of the sim cards in peoples phones that made them go batshit (and for the failsafe of big bada boom if they turned).
Edit: I don’t meant this to be snarky btw. Love the series! :)
Negan from the Walking Dead
You gotta do him
I just love that he’s a villain with a speech impediment. A rarity when it’s done and the villain is still intimidating.
Richmond Valentine is the Poor Man's Thanos
Richmond Valentine is a great example of why history's biggest despots are so damn difficult to stop. Doing horrible things for fun only goes so far when it starts to cost you. Doing horrible things because you believe you're doing the right thing -- these people will die for their causes.
I think Nick Fury has been listening to Thanos again.
I've just discovered this channel and gonna binge, it's interesting seeing a channel based on analysing villains. I'd love to see Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7. He is, in my opinion, the only fictional character that commands as much terror as Darth Vader. Incredibly powerful physically and loves to break down the heroes of FF7 mentally, also! Great channel can't wait to get stuck in during my free time. 😁👍
He was like is that blood. And his henchmen woman shook her head like yes.
Would love to see some villians from Legend of Korra
In my opinion Zaheer is the most interesting one from a philosophical perspective
Some of the best written villains start with good intentions, and can argue they are the good guy.
Analyzing evil: Black Jack Randall (outlander)!
Love the channel Vile Eye
Here are some suggestions for analyzing evil
Battle Royale- The totalitarian government
The Wicker man- Lord Summerisle or the villagers
Silent Hill- Silent Hill
Metal Gear Solid- Liquid Snake
Resident Evil-Umbrella Corp
The Lord of the rings- Sauron
Black Swan- Herself
I was kinda surprised that he didn't make a video about Senator Armstrong after all the attention Revengence had cultivated a few months back.
I never figured Samuel L. Jackson could play an Affably Evil Evil Genius, like a Bond villain.
Alduin the world eater from Skyrim abandoned his duty to end the world to rule over it instead I know it's a videogame but he'd be a great one to cover
I love these!!!! Suggestions for future videos are The Wicked Witch of the West, and Cruella De Vil, and Bellatrix Lestrange :)
5 Villains I'd love you to cover
1. Sarge from Doom (his case really is mindboggling even if you take PTSD and bad writing off the table.
2. Kain from Doomsday
3. Drug lord Carter Varone 2 Fast 2 Furious
4. Dr Isaacs from the Resident Evil franchise or sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children
5. and lol analyzing evil Naughty Bear
A surprising choice but a welcome one
I like Richmond Valentine; he kinda of reminds me of Ra’s Al Ghul and Poison Ivy from Batman. Both being Eco-Terrorist who have dire solutions to problems.
That Moment......'What If'.... Nick Fury decided to 'Do It Himself' without Infinity Stones
He didn't put Sim cards in everyone's necks. He only did that to his co-conspirators so they wouldn't spill the full extent of his plot.
Always reminded me alot of the plot of Deus Ex Human Revolution only with sim cards rather than augs.
I’d love one on DIO from Jojo’s, Griffith vibes & insane determination in like 3 different forms
I love this movie, but mostly, l could just watch two hours of Luke Skywalker meeting Mace Windu.
I love the random humour that you put in before going straight back to mass murder
11:36 A lovely fantasy, but frankly the only difference between that vast majority of 'ordinary' people and any mass-murdering monster from history you care to mention is opportunity.
There are only two protections that prevent any of us becoming such monsters: For the vast majority the fortune never to have the opportunity, and for some their honest recognition of the potential monster within and subsequent effort not to let it out.
His character from Jackie brown was my favorite and he was probably most evil in that one.
I actually never thought that Valentine is going to be in this list..he kinda goofy..but thank you to analyze this and make this video
If Thanos was a dork with a lisp
Not sure if you’re open to suggestions but you should consider covering some characters from IASIP(Always Sunny)
Lalo Salamanca from Better Call Saul for sure
Still asking for O Dogg from Menace II Society and Bishop from Juice
Richmond: Take out the population.
Thanos: Hmmm.
Johan Liebert from Monster
Gollum from Lord of the Rings
Light Yagami from Death Note
Suggestion: Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7
One of the most iconic video game villains of all time deserves to be covered!
This reminds me of another villain that would be good to discuss- the Mirando Corporation from Okja. In that case, it would be a villain pretending to care about the environment that one genuinely motivated by ecological concerns like Valentine.
jackson was simply phhpectacular in this movie
Good video. If I may make a suggestion for a future video, one villain I'd really like to see you cover is Koba from Planet Of The Apes. One of my favorite movie villains of the 2010s.
