No need to apologize for going back to the basics, these are straightforward simple projects that people can watch and try for themselves. The basics are important as they build the foundation for more complicated projects and scenarios. Thanks for all the videos, keep doing what you do.
Learning is a lot about repetition, so seeing things again (esp. things one may not always use on days out and about, with water brought from home) is a good refresher. And having quick projects make for a nice teaser to get people into it, esp. things that also lead to quick success. :)
Sometimes it's the little things that make an apparently "simple project" really easy. I like the trick putting the knife in the groove and turning it for splitting the half away. Greetings from Switzerland Felix
Might I suggest using a couple of zipties to bind your pothooks together. It is quicker and conserves your cordage for something it might be needed for elsewhere. I took a pack of zipties with me on my last camping trip and couldn't believe how useful they we're. Took up very little space, and no extra weight, on the way in and out.
You convinced me! I just got done ordering myself your book "Bushcraft 101" and subscribing to your channel. Good to see you're making new content. I'm sure I'll be more than pleased to read your book and learn new things, so I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up buying your other books too! Thanks for the vids, it was a smart move to start this channel for sure.
Watch ALL his vids on YT, as well I highly recommend grabbing All his books, if you don't/ haven't already, damn fine reads/ vids, info packed. Being 50 and trying to get into something I have longed to do for a long time and have now only been able to have the time to start learning myself, so know where you are coming from. But man am I late to the party...
Don't be sorry at all, this back to the basics series is great information. I have learned many tips from this as I was doing a few things the hard way. Excellent video. 👍👍😎🇱🇷
Love this serie, even though i already knew how to make those, it is great to see creation video's again and still picked up something usefull with it. i always made two holes for pins but the way you do it is more easy for my students and of course for me to grap. Keep this coming David
I really like this series. However I would like to see the knots being made slowly with good camera work so we can see it. I know you mentioned corporal on knots but same issue there he tries to explain it but can't always see how it's done. Especially starting knot. How about doing a series like this but only concentrate on 1 knot. For us subaranites your working off us knowing some things especially beginners like me don't. Please consider this.

Thanks Dave. I really appreciate the short and to the point format.
Classic David Canterbury. Quick, concise, informative. thanks
little stuff like this is very helpful and helps people who are new to get their feet wet gradually, and to practice those skills
Sweet. Sooooo simple... appreciated here! Thanks!

Like the refresher. I've been using the toggle method but this video may have changed my mind on that.
Thanks Dave for getting back to the basics. It those small things and tips that can save alot.

Its all cool basics are tried and true
Good stuff Dave👍
Very good. Thank you very much
Thats a lot like the one Ray Mears did years ago in the wild food extras, just more simple.
How are you liking the silky?
What kind of pants are you wearing? They look roomy and heavy duty.
Being basic sometimes is better than a drawn out video.that you forget some of the steps.
Ideas that can spark those creative neurons in the FNG. LOL

Fast n Furious Dave.🌲
This would be easy to do with duck tape or if you had 1 long L stick you could just tie it on.
I wouldn't have a high level of confidence in _my_ pothanger. It's too easy to carry an S hook from the hardware store.
I don't mind basics. My autistic brain likes basic and no fuss. Easier to handle.
