The power holders do not understand English and will rather see this beautiful piece as a mere song. It's a pity.
    I love your poems Dike

Nigerians need confidence, hard-earned through diligence and integrity. Confidence is the outcome, a reward. Faith is lazy expectation, requiring minimal engagement, that makes people wait and wait for a miracle, instead of apply themselves and build.

That is not faith is. It is because preachers have twisted these things. In truth, faith without works is dead. This idea of miracles alone is not the gospel.

If it can be twisted by preaching, then there is something wrong with it. You can't twist confidence in the same way, because confidence is the fruit, the outcome, of our endeavour. What are you going to do, sit around and beg preachers not to twist things, or build your own confidence through diligence and integrity?

@@icystrangers5482 because people abuse others with tainted love means love has a problem? Because someone presents a statement as truth and scam the other means there something wrong with truth?
Someone just gave you proof from the scripture that faith doesn't negate work, but you chose to stick to your prejudice. Faith is not laziness. The dictionary says, faith is a complete trust and confidence in something. Tell me if you can work without trusting in what you are doing and why you need to do it.
      Be honest please.

You said "Nigerians need confidence ..." You already defined faith by your statement. Check your dictionary again please.

@@auxtas The correct question would be whether I can work *without* COMPLETE trust and confidence in INSTRUCTIONS I have been given and why I have been told to follow them. The answer is *YES*. In fact, I NEVER have complete trust and confidence in any instruction I have been given.
Note that I have already distinguished between experience based confidence and faith in written instruction or scripture. Dictionary definitions can be crudely simple.
