Big props for uploading such losses as well. One can easily see that this L really hurt a lot, but you still decided to upload it and give us a proper analysis. And you are 100% right, we can learn a lot from those kinda losses. Just gotta get back up and learn from your mistakes. Good set regardless and best of luck at the next event dude 💪
Going with the character you're most comfortable with, in a pressure situation, even if the match up might not be the best is the decision most people would go with, I think. I believe, "calculated masher" would be what you're trying to describe Nobi as. One thing you may do when analyzing losses, I mean "you" in an everybody sort of sense, is that you start to see every little thing that went wrong, not just the glaring or poor decisions. I focus more on what I do wrong than right to begin with, and sometimes I have to remind myself I can't make every single correct call in every single situation.
Watching people of your calibre rewind and assess gameplay is what keeps me playing. Everyone has their bad days on the game but you’re still humble and acknowledging mistakes. Much respect dude!
I'm with you on the masher terminology and using it as an observation for Nobi's gameplay; dude is a pressure character/pressure player type so it makes sense he presses and challenges a lot.
Nice to see you going back and analyzing such a painful loss, respect for that. You actually played very well for the most part imo. Nobi just had you beat on those key reads and played smart. No shame in losing to one of the best players in Japan if not the world. Look at how far team UK have come with you and joka and gosain repping us😎
Nobi is my favorite player of all time, root for him whatever the situation. Watching this, an analysis of a REPLAY, not even live, I can still feel the absolute sheer amount of pressure in this tournament and I'm just a spectator! Can definitely understand why you're so hard on yourself when so much is at stake, but this is definitely a important match to grow from. Maybe just an observation, but your decision making was quite different from usual, whatever was affecting it, how do you think you can improve from there?
I would like to congratulate you on winning against Arslan and doing it with a character that is not broken or cheap. I watch Tonic a lot, a unique Paul you have played against in ranked, he had some funny stories involving you and that's how I found out about your videos and stream. After watching your stream and some matches on UA-cam, as well as your tournament matches, it's like your ranked performance seems better than stage performance. Not sure if it's because the opponents are better than in ranked or if you are nervous or probably both. Nonetheless, I think your gameplay and knowledge of the game is exceptional which is proved by playing a character that is not top tier. Hope this comment cheers you up.
@@princejax2748 If we take the best player, we duplicate him and one of them picks Panda and the other one picks Akuma, the Akuma will most likely win. There are a lot of variables in a match of tekken but you can't deny that there are characters that are just better than others due to framedata, character model or fast movement. There is a reason why in top 8 you usually see the same characters although different players play them. If you want to win you pick what raises your chances of winning so I will not discredit anyone. But the ones that can do well or be the best with the character that is not the best deserve more respect than those who don't. Who would pick hwoarang in top8 except kwiss? Who would pick Paul except knee? Who would pick Bryan except knee? Who would pick panda except the Japanese guy? Who would pick asuka except for Fergus? Or Sephiblack sticking to Miguel. None of these characters are picked in top8 for a reason. But there is no doubt that you have to be at top level to perform good enough to be in top8 regardless of the character.
@@eugenepiven2432You really only have the game to blame. No one is stopping players from using Akuma. Limiting character choices because they are loyal or are tekken purist seems illogical and specially in a tournament where big money is on the line.
@@K-Wiss You just got unlucky. You didn't lose because the other player outclassed you or anything like that. I just think that you got unlucky. Players like Joka definitely play better overall than this player using Feng.

Love the analysis man, i have to do this more in my games

This has inspired me to analyze my losses in life.

kinda sucks that not a lot of people are talking about this event on youtube. the whole tournament was hype af, not just the bracket.
there is no medicine for regret

I'm not saying that you're doing this but when you chalk someone's win to their character being broken or cheap, you invalidate the player's skill.

What's up man, Correct me if I'm wrong but you still are yet to play knee in tournament right?
A great way to call someone a masher without people taking offense is abare.
He plays Hworang🙄the Masher of mashers
Im a fan but can you please finish the clips first before you pause the video and explain what happened?
by set 4 he had fully scouted you and just made it look so easy
We win or we learn. Also I hardly read comments but man why do you have so many haters?

No need to be an ass about it.
