- I first head Roy Haynes when I was about 14 and I went out and bought a 20" K flat top ride. I played that as my main ride for years. After a while I fell out of love with it. It was too heavy, and as it patina'd, it just became too dry and lifeless. Enter the indy cymbal maker epoch.
Having a blast playing this new 20.5" prism flat ride from @timothyrobertscymbals @ReverieDrumCo .
I hope you enjoy the sounds. Leave a like if you do and comment what you think of the flat ride.

14" Agop 30th Anniversary hi hats
19" Agop signature ride
20.5" Timothy Roberts Prism flat ride
20" Agop special edition jazz ride
Great cymbal Matt! For a flat it also crashes pretty well!
Yes! It's a thin one, only 1843g. Timothy did a great job balancing the stick definition, classic flat ride sound, with crashability.
@@mattperko2425 wow that’s really thin! Great playing also helps my friend!!
@@PeterWeissink Thank you! I'm just hitting it as hard as I can. :)
Hi Matt, when I started watching this clip my first thought was ‘could this be a Timothy Roberts flat ride’ (I’m subscribed to his channel). Nearing the end of the clip I started to get curious, so I read the description… and there it was: the confirmation of my first thought! That flat ride sure sounds magnificent. I myself have an Istanbul flat ride (which I have only used a few times) and a very nice sounding Dave Weckl Serenity Flat Ride 21”, that I use very much. A Zildjian K Custom Light Flat Ride is now on its way to my home. I sure hope it’ll sound just as great as the Serenity - maybe still a bit better. Thanks for posting this clip!
Thanks Nico!
What a flow!!….wow. So it’s a 22? I’ll guess 21-2200gs
20.5" 1843g ;)
@@mattperko2425Next time I’ll read the description. Sounds really great.
@@SinclairLott Hah, I didn't know there was gonna be reading on this gig?!
@@mattperko2425 Not only reading but a test later on how to pay music on a drumset. Sick. Are the hats new? They jumped out at me.
@@SinclairLott man you are too kind. This is more of “how to lose a gig in 8 bars.” ;)
Same hats I’ve been using for years. My favorite pair ever. Super thin. I need to come hear you play soon
