Thank you for this great video!!! A few days ago I climbed the Säntis from Schwägalp. The path there is just as impressive. Arriving at Säntis on foot is something you have to earn. No matter the path🥵👍
Hi! Thanks for the video, the hike looks amazing. I am thinking of doing it in August as well :). So I'm trying to gather as much info as possible until then. Roughly how long did the ascent take you?
Hi Su, you should never hike on the type of mountain paths you see in this vidoe in wet weather!!! I did it here because what you saw was mainly hail, I was alone and I could hold on whereever it was wet but that's not a garantee...! I would have turned back if I assessed it as unsafe at that point in time which if you are not experienced you might not have done (that's also not a garantee for me to be safe). So if it's wet just do other parts of Alpstein, here is a video of the whole area, you can still enjoy it in wet wether :) ua-cam.com/video/R3JK2I70cbg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=MyAdventures
Safety first! I have a crazy guy usually joining me and some needs to make sure he gets home in one piece, I guess I want to make sure everyone else also does!
Isn't part of the danger the fact that there is again snow on the trail in October - so better hike this in July, August, September, right? The continuous cables make it seem like it is possible to use a carabiner to hook yourself to the cables, right? (In case people start feeling tired or uncomfortable/shaky). I guess it would take much longer, but at least one would not be too worried... BTW, are those hiking gloves?
Hi ROG ROG, if you check my complete guide you can see the path up from 40.02 (unfortunatelly only from the gondola I've not hiked the path and also very brief) the following link will show you the path www.komoot.com/plan/tour/d01AtESwQCOMFs=FwdMC97ZkDdpaZLn5-LrRJAA/@47.2537335,9.3327493,15.028z the majority of it is alpine and up that mountain so I would assume it's prettty similar at some points. unfortunatelly I cant help you more than that :/. If you are looking for a "safer rute" I would approach it from Schutzhutte Wagenlucke (least alpine rute) but it's still a top of mountain and you'll still face scetchy parts as you see in this video.
Hello and thanks for the brilliant video! what time of the year is this hike? :)

Looks amazing! I'm looking at hiking in the area this weekend, is it safe to do in wet weather?
No

How long are the narrow stretches? The length of the hazardous stretches are of vital importance to me/us
I'll be attempting to climb it in a few days, do you still need the information by then?
@@basboersma6854 Sure! I'll be there i 10-21 months, so no rush for me. It would be very useful information indeed!
Hi Tor, apologies for such a late response, that stretch is 2km but you already know that by now, I hope you had a good trip!
Hi Bas boersma, How was it for you? did you take the same route or did you climb from one of the other 2 routes?
Tor, just saw you're going this year, I think? anything else I can help you with?
Amazing route! Definitely will give someone with acrophobia some big heart attacks!
Hahah it does, one should use via firrata gear!
Heyy ! What month was it ?
This does not look very safe! But the virws are great! :)
I did I so other's don't have too 😉, but some of the views you'll get a bit earlier than when it gets really crazy 😜
Leider Nebelsuppe im schönen Alpstein!
