This is one that has already been published in several places, but it deserves to be heard even more, so I made this edit to maybe help zero in on just how good this vocal is.

Rusty thank you. This is my favorite performance from her so far. The ease at which she sings this emotionally charged song amazes me. I have experienced what she sings about from just about every angle and yet here is a 15-16 years old who I'm guessing has yet to suffer at the hands of Love, but seems to deliciously sing about that exquisite agony of a love gone wrong.
I have, as I think you might also, have the perspective of 70+ years of being in the fray. I have won but more often lost at love. This performance of Angelina's manages to corral all those feelings and I mean it is like nobody has sung a song like that ever. The is never a doubt that I will be in tears by the end. I live alone so at some point I am moved to try and match her vocals which is laughable but the compulsion is there, and it's just me. I have a decent enough voice to not to be totally obnoxious and since it is only me, I risk it.
Well there goes my ADHD again, off down the yellow brick road. I just wanted to thank you for the work you put in to bring this video to us.
Oh, if you have any influence at all please get her to do a full performance of this song. No special presentation just like this but the whole song.

Did you improve the audio on this one? It sounds great.
@@jimmywoo2022 I did a little EQ work on it, but always try to not stray too far from the original sound. Strangely, I think some of the audio improvement is coming from the visuals. I think by focusing on just her face, you are able to see the many subtle mouth movements she makes to shape all those notes, and your ear tunes into it more. I also tried to tone back the color to the point where just the blue eyes pop through. I was hoping this color pallet would also help set the tone for what she is singing.
...I might over think these things sometimes. I just try to make something I like, and hope others find benefit in it too.

I have never been a big fan of any singer in my life,but this Angelina Jordan is a different animal altogether! I spend hours watching her everyday.They should name an Angelina class because I don't think anyone but her will ever be in it!
I have been a fan of several singers/bands over the years. ...but none in all those years have captivated me as deeply or for as long as Angelina has. Her library of work is so massive that there's barely enough time to even give each piece the attention it deserves, let alone give it enough attention to wear it out. ...and then she continually drops new pieces of gold, and you forget to go back to that one when she was 12 for a few months, and when you do get back to it, you hear it in a completely new light... and then remember the other one when she was 11....... then it seems to just go on like that..... indefinitely apparently :P
You speak my mind Dave. I spend hours daily also .. and she moves me in a way that I haven't felt for years. I am presently so longing for Republic to do Love is a Game as a live studio cover as well as House of the Rising Sun .. which totally knocked me over this morning (or was it yesterday?). I thank you both and so many other angels for their loyalty and devotion. It's good to be a part of a wave of positivity and wonderful art being created.

Totally agree with your comment vasty and I do watch quite a few talent programmes and I’m very surprised at some of the young talent that is out there. However I have not come across anybody in Angelina’s league

Her vocal control is astounding ...and has been since she was 7 years old. But it's not only the ability to control her voice. It's also the artistic choices she makes that are really impressive to me. Being able to do it is talent... knowing _what_ to do in the first place is art. She is both a talented singer, and an incredible artist.

I love Angelina Jordan's new EP, but I really hope that at least one song on her upcoming album is a ballad as beautiful as this one. Just Angelina's magical voice and a piano. I love this version so much more than Adele's full orchestra version.

I'm not sure if she is playing on this one. It can't be seen in the original, but just based on intuition I would say she is probably singing to a backing track. She tends to spot check her hands occasionally when she plays, and I didn't really see that here.
Angelina is the best young female vocalist I know of. Her maturity, her vocal control, her lower register, her versatility, her soulful sound, her intuition, her story telling and her hyper sensitive ability to accurately convey the perfect amount of emotion that the lyrics require is unmatched. Those of us that have been following this divinely gifted angel for years have run out of superlatives to describe how much we love and adore Angelina’s unique talent.

Whether Angelina's eyes are open or closed when she sings, I think she sees heaven because I hear heaven. No one has touched me so deeply in song like Angelina. So very soulful!!!
I think the reason why this cover resonates so strongly with seasoned AJ addicts is that here, in this song, Angelina buries the little girl voice forever. Her extremely sultry take on this Adele hit is three steps forward for a teen moving toward womanhood. And for some of us, it is both sad and exhilarating. With this cover, she is announcing, "I am as good as anyone" and leaves little doubt about that. This is professional singing at it's best. Our Angel has officially grown up.
At first read, I didn't really agree. I think she buried her little girl voice long ago. ...but upon further reflection I can see the point you are making. This one does step up to yet another "new level". What is really amazing to me is that she continues to find these new levels.... year after year. Just when you think there's no way she could get better, she comes out and gives us another layer of complexity, not only vocally, but also artistically. Her vocal choices never cease to surprise and amaze me.

It's very hard to pick favorites among so many spectacular performances, but I think this one is my favorite. When you sing "love is a game for fools" the first time is simply transcendent. The emphasis on the word "for" simply takes your breath away.
I agree. The first "for" and the second "fools" are both something transcendent. She make some of the most unique choices in her delivery, and it always somehow sounds exactly as it always should have been. This kid is really something special.

I do think these clips are her best for some mysterious reasons, let’s see: minimum instrumentation, video proximity almost intimate (she always liked being photographed and filmed), love to share with her fans, and total focus on her artistic expression without constraints. Have yourself a Merry little Christma’s TikTok clip is better than in the Christmas Concert performance too. Yebba’s hartbrake, fields of gold and endless love will probably be less intense in an album, I expect. This to say that I got use to not expect anything from AJ, because she will always come back with a new best present for the world. As someone sung, this girl is on fire ❤️🔥

15 years old...with the experience of a 45 year old. Amazing how connected she is and how this channeling works. And seems, she is not just channeling Adele but something far beyond... For me she sounds, like singing from my inside. I hope, she can stay as relaxed, as composed like she is and still listen to NGT judge Lisa, "don't think, just sing"... and I hope that her Grandma Mery will be with her for a long time to come still.

I agree. It seems the simpler the setting, the more impact she has. When everything else is stripped away, we are just left with her pure emotion. It just draws you in and holds you there for a couple minutes. As one of the judges said on AGT, while she sings the rest of the world just falls away.

I mean look at most of the singers now ...they basically all sound the same, their shows and videos are all glamour lots of lights and glitter, lots of dancers, lots of twerking, not much clothing, heavily auto tuned, heavily orchestrated, no heart, no soul. Angelina can stand in a spot, and sing and have you in tears with her voice. Stand in one spot with a piano, and slay you with her emotion. Can sing acapella and not be out of tune. Sings without auto tune, she doesn't need it, she can make the sounds she wants herself. Nearly all her covers are better than the original. How often is a cover better than the original? not that often! But Angelina not only makes the song her own, but you can literally say " Its her song now" You know what I mean!
If only she would record the full song... This is hauntingly beautiful! Why is it that she is able to put more emotion in this song (only a part) than the original, while she can never have had such tragic live and relationship pain as we all know Adele had?
She is an EMPATH, who is able to understand the feelings and emotions of those around her. With this ability of empathy, they can really feel the feelings of others on a fairly deep emotional level.

Angelina at her best, and that is saying a LOT. She grabs hold of my gut and tells her story. Such strong words by Adele, and they apply well to the expectations we all lay on Angelina. It makes me want to tell her that she's more than good enough, and only needs to be herself. I hope she knows.

Because you are new to Angelina (and the internet), I am going to do you a favor and recommend you take a little time to run through this playlist (click link below) This is a chronological progression of some of my very favorite Angelina recordings from age 7 to current. I think this list is the best way to really show how special this kid is. As you go through this list, you are going to hear so many different facets to her voice and her artistry. Rusty when you first saw Angelina did you ever think she could grow into the complete wonder she is today? The little girl of 6 singing Tom Jones, now interpreting some of the best written songs of all times better than the original artists ever could.

I have always loved music, and I have watched about every singing competition ever (going all the way back to Star Search in the 80s). I have heard thousands of vocalists over the years, and I could tell from the first few notes of the very first song that this was not like any other singer I have ever heard. I immediately knew that I was watching a legend in the making, and watching her grow over the years just continues to strengthen my original assessment.

"success" is a fuzzy target. If it means riches and fame, then yes, she would have to make 'popular' music. But if success means happiness and making a good living creating the things that _you_ want to make, then I think she will be very successful in whatever music she wants to make.
...also 'popular' is a moving target. The very best in their craft (as Angelina is) have the ability to move that target in the directions that inspire them.
I just wish her to become popular enough to have a good life and be able to do what she loves. More fame than that is more likely to cause problems in her life than to make her happier.

I think Republic Records should have Angelina produce a number of full length videos just like these and release it as an album. Everyone will be happy and they won’t even have to pay for any studio musicians. Well, maybe a pianist or guitarist if she would like one.

Being a musician still very young, Jordan never ceases to surprise us. Angelina Jordan has, in addition to a beautiful voice, the charisma that many musicians would like to have, and that is knowing how to reach a wide audience and conquer it. We have to be fair and say how much she surprises us In every song she sings, she is an artist in all capital letters.

I agree. I don't deserve anything.... but I also don't get anything ;) I have never made a penny from anything Angelina related that I have done. There's only about 3 other Angelina fan channels that can say that (hint, they are all older than 2 years). It seems that every Angelina related channel that has appeared since she was on AGT have all been driven by some money making agenda. Monetized channels, paypal accounts, patreons, etc. The ones I consider real fan channels do none of that. But that's just my opinion. I'm not the final word on any of this.
