Just can't beat 90s college basketball...so much talent and so many great teams... every year throughout the entire decade
Great game between the '93 and '94 National Champs.
I was at this game. My cousin hit that last 3 for Arkansas. That backdoor by lynch was gut wrenching
people only remember that Carolina team by the Weber timeout. that was a tremendous team. the most underrated champions of the 90's. George Lynch is an all-time great.
This was a tough game and the next one would be even tougher. This team had heart and grit. RIP Montross.
I'm a Tar Heel fan but I knew after watching this game that Arkansas would be a Final Four team the following year and they did win it all the next year.
So interesting how these teams arc'd. UNC beats this team with experience...Arkansas learns from it and wins the national title the following year. Then THEIR experience carries them through against a very talented Carolina team in 95 en route to the national title game.
Spot on
ahh--well sure--but that 2/3 court three pointer and missed Stackhouse FT sure helped them on their way...
@@jacobadams5924 also the Stackhouse injury in the 1st minute of the game
@@pdaddy879 and a hobbled Rasheed Wallace
hogs just weren't ready. they made some silly mistakes down the stretch. This makes me wanna revisit that 94 title game and the 95 final four matchup
Probably my favorite Dean Smith team. They had to beat Arkansas, Cincinnati, Kansas, then the Fab 5 of Michigan to win it all.
Quite the run.
people say they got lucky, but all those teams were excellent and well coached. I was too young to appreciate how good that Tar Heel squad really was.
I've always respected this Arkansas team and Nolan Richardson. If the Heels couldn't win it in '94, I'm glad these Hawgs did
👏
Corey Beck, Coliss " Big Daddy " Williamson, Clint McDaniel, Sheppard,Scotty Thurman. Coach Nolan Richardson
RIP Eric Montross
George Lynch balled out this game.
George Lynch was one of my counselors at basketball camp! Great guy!
grown man strength. he had a great tournament.
@@MrBmick79 Heart and soul of that team!
The ceiling is the roof.go.tarheels.
40 minutes of hell...
They scared the hell out of UNC lol
epic flop by Beck at 1:10:28...should of been a Technical.
North Carolina was just the bigger team Arkansas couldn't handle them inside and the turnover late was just I don't know lol that's a tough one but the Razorbacks fought hard though and almost pulled of an upset
I was a Michigan fan and not a UNC fan, I felt Michigan should have won that National Title game it’s just that Carolina swingman Donald Williams just happened to be hot that night that’s all
Michigan had such an easy road getting to the Final Four it was a joke. Had Alan Henderson not screwed his leg up, Indiana would have won it all that year. And yes, either UNC or Michigan for a 3rd time. I know, I’m still salty about it lol.
@@barryprice4202 They did have to beat Kentucky--who I thought was the best team in the tourney...They (Kentucky) were so dominant--I think the Kentucky game wore down Michigan just enough...
@@barryprice4202 Michigan did have to beat a Temple team with Eddie Jones and Aaron Mckie. Not to mention John Chaney leading the way....
@@barryprice4202 UCLA weren't scrubs....but they almost lost every game in that run. looking back, I'm Not surprised they finally lost to UNC. That wolverine team was wildly talented, but a bit unbalanced.
Montross was a MOOSE.
I can see why folks hated the Tar Heels, they got some favorable calls fa sho
