I love your channel because it's very hard work lambing and you keep it real and also the conversation between you and your dad. It's real life and I love it.! God bless you all.🙂

Glynn I lambed pure breed Suffolks so bought an UdderlyEz. Hand pump for extraction colostrum from the ewes as these lambs need a good start. Very fast and handy. It comes with different sized teat clusters, special bottles and a rubber teat all lambs suck the first bottle like mad after birth, little tubbing needed. It means Suckling reflexs from the start. It works like a cow cluster. The milk gentle flows I to the bottle and when it eases it needs a single gentle pump to get the pressure to flow again. It worked on about 8 out of 10 ewes. The 2 out of ten that didn't work on the milk was like mustard in a jar. To thick. Bought no powder colostrum sense I bought the Hand pump. It means a ewe with a single lamb can be robbed and it's extra colostrum saved for others when the pressure is on. The ewe does not kick the same as when you handle the teats. But it can put on a fair bit of suction so be gentle. Be carefull because if you milk a mystics infected udder by mistake it will need a real good disinfecting & cleaning. Check it out on utube. It helped me and speed up the first colostrum milk feeding and as you say most lambs after the first feed go on their own. Check it out any thing to make the process faster and easier. Keep fighting the weather. The ground in Antrim is in to the Arse with rain 😅 I am also a joiner. Wood and wool must be similar. The Bible is full of parables of carpenters & shepherd's 😂😂 cheers Rab
Glynn, could you maybe splint the little ram’s back legs? How you keep your cool with all that is going on with the sheep as well as producing excellent videos that are educational and just dang fun to watch is beyond me! Bless you and your da and hoping for clear skies for .y’all! Name suggestion: Nemo ( the little fish had a wonky fin and the lamb was born in such wet conditions). Or not. 😉
I used to stitch the post lambing prolapses with a tape and large cutting needle provided by the vet, and remove the stitch at the next handling .I’m glad you use a proper harness, not keen on the string job, it must cut in.You saying electric lights reminds me of an agitated patient overhearing doctors discussing her electrolytes. She demanded that her electric lights get sorted. So I removed the light bulb from the lamp over her bed gave it a polish and replaced it, that calmed her down.
Some craic , better couple of days here in Co Derry but the ground is into the neck .hope weather improves. Ikeep a wee pair of beard clippers in the lambing shed and i wash the lambs backend and then clip them then they wont repeat the blockages .good luck.
Regarding that wobbly lamb. When I was a kid, I was called Weeble's from a little toy that came on the telly....Weeble's! Weeble's wobble, but they don't fall down!"
I’d think washing the lambs behinds with warm water would be better for getting that sticky merconium poo off….isn’t it just the first couple of times they evacuate that cause issues?
Would the wee plastic coats not be worth putting on the lambs when putting them out, even just for a wee while till they harden up a little? Great video..
I wouldn’t fancy meetin you on the maternity ward Glynn 😂😂😂
