- While it appeared that Mykal Fox got the best of Gabriel Maestre, the judges decided differently and gave Maestre the decision and the interim WBA Welterweight Title. Maestre improved his record to 4-0, while Fox fell to 22-3.

It's not always the judges, they are often given strict orders, and they accept taking the blame for their share of side money, and they really don't get penalized because it's just a smoke screen to hide the real perpetrators.

They tried cheating at the beginning with the gloves and still end up giving it to him. This is so disrespectful to fox and boxing fans.

@@macjr2001 yes there was. Skinned gloves. Where you pull the gloves down tighter over the hand so it’s more of a solid surface. Fox’s corner caught it and had to twist the WBA official’s arm to stay in the room and make them fix it. Also, nobody from the commission initialed or signed off on Maestre’s gloves. Corruption all the way around. Also the judge with the 117-110 card is the wife of a WBA executive and is a virulent racist that’s since deactivated her twitter account.

Thank you! I only saw the last 2 rounds so I didn't understand the outrage after the decision. Today the word robbery gets used too often when a decision doesn't go a certain way that it's lost all meaning. I'll have to go watch the whole fight but from what it sounds like this was really a robbery.

Until these judges gets punished for this kind of decisions, figthers will always be robbed and the thing that we can only say is "i've seen this before" this is is what's killing the sport. Judges should be former fighters or trainers and coaches who knows how to fight! These judges should be put to jail.
The WBA is based in South America. They are not going to punish judges who do EXACTLY what the WBA wanted them to.

Xavier Mosqueda castano wasn’t robbed. I watched the fight with no sound slow motion for exchanges to see what actually landed. They both won 5 rds decisively with 2 toss up rounds. Not mad at a draw or a 7-5 for either guy. This was just a total robbery

All those judges need to be investigated. Bank accounts examined, etc. There is no excuse for this.
I agree with the decision. He was the aggressor the entire fight, landed the better shots overall, landed more significant strikes, was attacking the body effortlessly, and just fought a better fight. Aside from the knockdown he was pretty flawless. I watch fights on mute, cause commentary makes you second guess things, and I had him winning the fight. I am really not sure what fight people were watching, cause to me he was clearly winning. It is like the first fury Wilder fight, cause at the end I said it is either a draw, or either won by no more than a point. I actually thought Wilder won at least 4 of the first five rounds, and could have even given him all five of those rounds, then won the 7th and 12th. Fury just wasn't doing enough to win the first 5 rounds, and it is not like Wilder was doing much more, but in my opinion he won those rounds. I was actually shocked when I turned the volume up and they were saying Fury was robbed, and I picked Fury to win. I cannot tell you how many people have went back and watched that fight and said damn Fury really did nothing till after he got dropped in the 7th. I even remember Shawn Porter saying he remembers Fury running a clinic on Wilder, then he went back and watched it and realized Fury did nothing in the first half of the fight. I am not sure why things like this happen, but these are great examples of people thinking the seen something that never happened. I clearly had Maestre winning based of being aggressive and landing ore significant strikes.

Maestre is The Chosen One. The Powers That Be clearly had him winning against his original opponent and they weren't about to let substitute Fox change the win for Maestre.

Crazy Fight and Decision
I'm sure there's corrupt judges from time to time, but I think they get the decision wrong most of the time because of the blind spots from watching it in person, and the influence from the crowd.
Have these judges in the back looking at monitors with the volume down. Also they need to hire younger people. Most of these judges are old as dirt.
