Hi! I'm the Light Rail Foreman at SCRM. Our Siemens-Duewag U2 cars ran in revenue service from July 23, 1981 until January 26, 2015. 1008 was the first to arrive at the museum as the first LRV ever on property. 1003 followed a couple of years later, with N-S P865 144 from LA Metro right behind it. While technically by today's standards, a streetcar could be considered an LRV, at the time streetcars were in full-time revenue service, the term "Light Rail" didn't exist. The PCC car is what I would consider to be the father of the "Light Rail Vehicles", but again, there was no such term back in the day. Very nice video! Everything looks good! You definitely did your research, however the smaller cars are trolleys and not light rail cars. The only LRVs we have are the P865 and both U2s.
It used to go as far as San Diego, it was originally built to turn inland at Fallbrook Junction and pass through the Santa Margarita Mountains on into Temecula, but it got flooded in the mountain pass so many times that they ended up abandoning that portion, splitting the Temecula line and the Fallbrook line into two separate branch lines, and building up the coast and turning inland at San Clemente and into Orange County

How did you get to the platforms where the trains are
It’s always open for the platforms.
