There were only a few Shinden fighter jets ever made, a museum in japan actually paid them to build the model for this movie, in return for it to be given back to the museum for display as a faithful replica.
The Shinden was not a jet. It was propeller-driven, the propeller was just in the back. Very cool design. But not a jet. They were test flown the days that the atomic bombs were dropped. Japan DID make a prototype jet, copying the German Me 262. But only one was ever built, and it only flew once.
No idea why, people think they're German. No, they're Japanese but I do not remember if Mitsubishi made Shinden or another company did but they're very Japanese.
Hi! I’m from Japan and I really enjoyed your reaction! Honestly it was one of the best reactions I’ve seen! You picked up a lot of the subtle nuances that I would have thought only Japanese would pick up, because of the cultural thing. Kudos to you sir! And that being said, did you notice that black thing creeping up Noriko’s neck in that last hospital scene? She’s been infected with the Godzilla regenerating cells. That’s the only reason she survived that atomic blast. She regenerated, thus setting up for the sequel. Also when Godzilla released that atomic blast in Ginza, that black stuff that rained upon Shikishima was called Black Rain. It happens when an Atomic Bomb goes off. It rained Black Rain in Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the bomb went off. There’s a movie too, called Black Rain starring Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia , check it out,you might like it.
Up to the last minute he was preparing himself to die, it was a kamekazi mission. The mechanic wasn’t sure if he would use the ejection seat that’s why he was relieved when he heard he used it.
Decompression has a lot of symptoms, the fish flaoting up dead with thier guts coming out of their mouths is one, like the preassue around them in the preassure inside woudl cause things to escape to lesser preassuraised outside. The Shinden fighter was one of those rumored secret weapons every country fighting seemed to have during WW2 but never made it out of the testing phase and the war ended, and post war technological advanced where so quick they where made obselete, so they never see production type weapons.
Thanks for explaining decompression lol I should have realized that on my own! It seems like such a badass plane! It’s crazy how quickly tech improved during that time
The “Black Rain” is a recorded phenomenon that eyewitness survivors of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki both reported, a blood-like radioactive substance peppering the scorched earth due to radiation ionizing with a loaded rain cloud. That and the fact that people’s shadows were literally blasted onto the walls and floors where they were incinerated where they once stood by the initial impact are just two of the horrifying phenomena that nuclear power bring about. It’s genuinely one of the scariest things. Look it up, there is a picture of a shadow of an elderly woman, you can even see her cane. There’s another of a guy taking a smoke break on the steps, all that is left is his shadow.
When I get into a movie I go a little crazy checking reactions. I've seen this movie's reactions over a dozen times. And you killed it man, great reaction, great insight, just a vibe. Appreciate it, and hope to see more from you!
Great reaction, and was even happier because of the Tora Tora Tora reference!!! Plus decompression sickness is caused by the precipitation of Nitrogen out of the blood causing bubbles in the blood stream or if you hold your breathe during the rapid ascent the lung sacs basically rupture, Godzilla healing factor overcomes these issues unfortunately!!!
Thanks for reacting to this great movie! One thing about the pushing Shikishima into the alley. The moment was that quick. That's one reason for the slow mo, to show how little time there was to react. That's also reflected in Shikishima's reaction afterward. It was so quick, he thought Noriko would have been there with him. I like how you point out how audiences have come to watch Godzilla fight kaiju, but in this...the human characters are the focus and the audience roots for them.
Actually, from what I've read, the people of Japan didn't take long after the war to realize kamikaze attacks 'were just a waste of pilots and aircraft. The damage they inflicted was minuscule compared to the forces being sent against them. The only ships they managed to sink were Escort Carriers and smaller ships.' Even the Sumiko (the neighbor) no longer judged Shikishimo. Japan's J7W1 Shinden was the only World War II aircraft of canard configuration that any combatant ordered into production. So, yes, it's real. They were saluting Big G as a worthy opponent. Oh, and I'm giving a shout out to Doc's hair. Just thought I'd mention that. *Excellent reaction! Thanks!* *Just subbed*
Well brother , your reaction is one of the best reactions about this movie so far. I really enjoed your reaction. Whenever I was asked about this movie from my friends who haven't watched , I always told them this is " human drama" it's not only simple monster movie. This is my first Godzilla movie I cried and scared in a theatre. Koichi's scream with black rain was super insane. That scream explained everythig about his feeling. Last thing, I really want you to check Akiko's face in a hospital, her face didn't look like happy to see Noriko again. Her face looked kind of scared. Akiko found something evil in Noriko. Because Noriko infected Godzilla cell ( something black on her neck), that's why she survived and recovered that blast. Anyways great reaction brother !!!
This movie is a masterpiece, and yes Godzilla has like 40 movies, he has been villain and hero many times. There is nothing wrong with legendary embracing the hero Godzilla from Heisei and Showa era.
For decompression: Have you ever had a new bottle of soda and noticed that there are no bubbles in it? But as soon as you open it (relieving pressure) bubbles immediately appear. Decompression can do that to us too, except the bubbles appear in our blood. This can cause all kinds of damage to internal organs.
It's quite rare for Kamikaze pilots to run away from their missions. They did that not because of the honorable death or wishing Japan to win the war. But to protect their family and hometown from the bombs. whch caused massive fire which cannnot be extinguished by water because they were napam bombs. When you read their dying letters, you will know this easily. Kamikaze pilots were exactly the same as Shikishima who finally made his mind to attack Godzila with full of bombs in his plane.
this movie is what happense when you get skilled script writers to write a movie. such a short and beautiful character arp with Sumiko. minimal dialogue and screen time
Another comment on "Godzilla Minus One Reaction". What I found after several viewings, ignoring the subtitles, lol, nah. Opening scene has the venerable Japanese Zero Fighter landing on the fictional Odo Island. Home of the fictional monster "Gojira". The end of WWII was September 1945. "A new Yankee weapon?" as the mechanics all look to the sky. The premise of the movie is the survivors of the Tokyo Fire Bombing of March 10th 1945. Mankind's worst that had more casualties than and lost in history to the Hiroshima or Nagasaki Bomb. Nearly 300 newly developed long range B29 Bomber's and newly developed Incendiary bombs: Napalm. All developed and designed to rain fire on the civilians of Tokyo in March of 1945. The "Black Market" scene with it's vendors, hustlers and prostitutes to introduce Noriko & Akiko to Koichi is brilliant. The "Ameyoko" is fact. Noriko scores a turnip and shows a hungry Akiko. One date March 1946, the one (1) year anniversary of the Tokyo Fire Bombing it's raining heavily. Ironically Koichi is soaked in rain water and not fire. "Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho so, off to work I go". At work, (Bashful) Koichi meets (Doc), (Grumpy) Captain & (Happy) the Kid. Somewhere The Brothers Grimm & Walt Disney are smiling. Takashi Yamazaki, takes from great story tellers from around the world and becomes one himself. Koichi has a nightmare of fire outside, as people crying out "fire, fire" then there's Godzilla. Another date March 1947, it's the two (2) year anniversary of the Tokyo Fire Bombing. It's sunny. An Erie scene of Noriko's shadow through the window as she looks into the mirror and the shadow appears across her face. A ghostly premonition. On March 10th 2024, the 79th anniversary of the Tokyo Fire Bombing", Takashi Yamazaki & crew was awarded the Oscar in Hollywood California. Takashi Yamazaki tells a great Japanese post WWII story using the great Japanese fictional monster "Gojira" that people wouldn't be interested in anyway. The sudden bombardment of Godzilla by the "Takao" is ironic as the "Takao" was offshore supporting the surprise attack of Pearl Harbor. (Elder family members would share stories of that time being from Hawai'i). Harley Davidson, Koichi's Black Market motorcycle, and the Japanese Imperial Navy was a surprise discovery. The last line, Noriko looks to the side of the camera and says, "Is your war.....now, finally over? Translated differently on my DVD than in the theaters. Read that in Japan, after the movie, in theaters people applauded.
Godzilla don't eat 'em. He yeet 'em. *Yeetzilla!* The bombing of Bikini Atoll was just another test. They weren't aiming for Big G...who yeah...got angrily larger, but now with nuclear fire power.
When they are saying that the country held life so cheaply it hits hard. The Germans surrendered in March 1945. That was the same time as the firebombing in Tokyo. Italy surrendered in May but Japan would not. It was three months later when they would not stop fighting that we dropped the first bomb. Still no surrender so we dropped the second one. We did not do it for fun. It was to finally make them give up. If they had stopped when Germany did it did not need to happen. Look how these people talk about it. They live in Japan for God's sake. Such needless loss of life.
Godzilla can’t be a villain all the time because then the franchise will die I grew up watching monsterverse Godzilla king of the monsters movies and I love that movie and I love Godzilla minus one but the thing everyone loves is to compare two different movies that have different companies now yes monsterverse human story is boring but the action is so good
There were only a few Shinden fighter jets ever made, a museum in japan actually paid them to build the model for this movie, in return for it to be given back to the museum for display as a faithful replica.
Ah that’s so cool! If I’m ever fortunate enough to go to Japan this has to be one of the stops!
The Shinden was not a jet. It was propeller-driven, the propeller was just in the back. Very cool design. But not a jet. They were test flown the days that the atomic bombs were dropped.

No idea why, people think they're German. No, they're Japanese but I do not remember if Mitsubishi made Shinden or another company did but they're very Japanese.
The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC has one of the original Shinden prototypes.
That little girl was a better actress than most of the Monsterverse people
The director really loved Jaws and Spielberg actually told him he saw this movie three times. Pretty cool.
Glad you enjoyed G-1! It really is the quintessential Godzilla film. 👌
This one’s going in the history books!

It wasn't raining oil. Its called Black Rain, its an after effect of nuclear explosions.

That black mark on her neck in the end is godzilla's cells
I don't think our dude ever noticed it
@@ksyodeb He didn't. But...that's why we're here, to help a brother out.😆

Awesome vid! And this is truly number one Godzilla movie for me.

I have been watching a lot of G-1 reactions, and the most common comment is "You have to marry this woman today" at the end.
This movie is a masterpiece, and yes Godzilla has like 40 movies, he has been villain and hero many times. There is nothing wrong with legendary embracing the hero Godzilla from Heisei and Showa era.

You've gained a new sub! Keep up the great stuff, bro!
This is one of the best Godzilla Minus One reactions on YT. Glad you liked it bro. I just Subscribed 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Someone said they slowed down the frame so you could see her move but it happened in a second.
Took me back to the 60's
They didn't bomb Godzilla. Operation Crossroads were regular atomic tests. Godzilla just happened to be there when it happened.
I love your commentary!

The decompression is going to give the bens
Smart reaction.
You like "Tora! Tora! Tora!"? Props to you, man!
Watched it with Pops when i was maybe 7 or 8 years old and LOVED it!
Great reaction video!
Good reaction very insightful and honest.

The only real "demon" Godzilla I know of is the one from GMK.

This movie destroyed Legendary Monsterverse!!!
Easily! Although I do like Legendary's design a little better
