Yes, The Offer is a brilliant story and Matthew Goode was just amazing as Bob Evans. Amazing! I have always like Matthew but he took it to a new level in this piece. I so dislike award shows, but I would give him best actor in just about any arena. I was amazed at Matthew's ability to pull off an American accent so flawlessly. Hollywood is dead now but The Offer makes me think there might still be some moisture on the mirror.
I have enjoyed Matthew in everything I've seen him in. Playing Bob Evans was a whole other level of brilliant. The Offer is a wonderful show that teaches us how belief and perseverance wins the day. Everyone did an outstanding job but Matthew Goode's phone is likely to not stop ringing with interesting offers. He was so special!
What a great interviewer! great questions no long preamble. I picked up the frequency of this production from the first moments and this interview is confirming what I was getting. I too am recommending it to everyone and I too use my goosebumping as my gauge of authenticity!
Wait is Matthew talking about The Theory of Everything? (turning down roles that went on to win the Oscar) In any case, Matthew Goode is one of the best English actors of his generation.. and in my opinion, the absolute finest. Great actor. Love his work.
As an actor, and amateur filmmaker, great acting REALLY gets my attention He STEALS every one of his scenes. He’s the only one ACTING May his career go only upwards
I just re-watched The Kid Stays in the Picture. Mathew even managed to get Evan's nasally sound. Too bad Evans has left the stage. He would have loved all this.
@@AlicedeTocqueville No, you're right actually, Matthew Goode had a legit point. Black and white isn't a bad idea. Shot on film especially. I have a similar notion that James Bond ought to be brought back as a four season limited streaming series, with roughly four 90 minute episodes per year (sort of like Columbo used to do) faithfully representing all of Ian Flemming's original novels (plus Thunderball) in their period late 50's early 60's settings. Drop much of the cinematic tropes (pre-credits sequence, credits song, over the top stunt set pieces). Maybe even ditch the Monte Norman/John Barry movie theme music and gunbarrel intro to further distinguish itself too. Hire Daniel Pemberton to do the new music scores. Bring in some of the big directors who've periodically expressed their desire to helm a Bond vehicle - such as Spielberg, Tarantino and Guy Ritchie. Aesthetically I'm thinking of something more noir, along the lines of HBO's Perry Mason meets AMC's Mad Men in period production value. As for dialogue that I wrote for actors - that's a secret - I don't divulge personal information on the internet. However, on April 6th (2023), here on my UA-cam channel, I will release my "fan edit" of Fritz Lang's 1927 operatic silent film sci-fable masterpiece METROPOLIS in an eight part episodic form. Which will feature all new dialogue subtitles I wrote for it along with many other rhythmic tweaks, including a contemporary sourced soundtrack score that I feel finally does justice to the film's evocative images and themes. So now you're one of the first people to know about it, do with that knowledge what you will. You're certainly welcome to watch it and judge whether I know what's what or not. If people discover it, I think it'll quickly become their preferred version. If not, ok well, because I made it for me and it's what I always wanted to see elevate its coherence and ability to engage.
@@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat You can imagine how surprised l was to see your post. It's sometimes astonishing to encounter someone civil in these conversations, never mind someone who can spell and has something to talk about. I'll certainly look for your 'Metropolis' feature next month. And I really like the new Perry Mason series. Matthew Rhys is a really good actor! Kinda shows Matthew Goode's suggestion about Bond to have some merit. Did you see him in Burning Man? A really great movie from Australia, written and directed by Jonathan Teplitsky. Bye for now, and l'll look forward to next month.
If Robert Evans was 1/2 as annoying as Goode plays him, I don’t know how anyone could be around him for more than 20 seconds. This character, And the way this actor portrays him,is so intolerable it almost ruins the show for me. I cannot stand the accent or the fact that he sounds like he constantly needs to blow his nose. UGH!
I don't think Matthew Goode was, but Robert Evans was snorting a lot of cocaine. If you've ever heard him in an interview, he really did sound like that.
i could not disagree more. i thought he was hilariously charming, funny and i could not keep my eyes off of him, and wouldn't wait for his scenes every episode. he was so much fun. i wonder if you've watched the kid stays in the picture. goode's said that he was doing a younger version of evans, and it really works.
dude your mom must have dropped you on your head a lot as a child bc you are really troubled. obviously bob Evans was a god and so is Matt Goode for doing such a great job. true talent
Possibly the most underrated actor

The entire cast was captivating. Goode did nothing but chew up the scenery. It was special. Best I've seen in years.
Matthew got Robert Evans VOICE, and delivery down to a T! He stole every scene he was in. He's got my vote for an Emmy!!
@matthew Goode, we are only saying the truth, Matthew. One of this days, I'll run into you at an event, and congratulate you in person! 😉👍🏻
What a great guy he seems to be. I’ve watched several of these press junket interviews and he is unfailingly gracious, funny and engaged.

One of the BEST productions in a Long time! This is a Must watch
Get this guy an Emmy!
Most incredible acting achievement ever!
Matthew, you've made this show a work of art. Thank you for being there . I look forward to new works from you ❤️ I love you
He has Robert Evan's voice down pat. It's amazing and spooky.
Deir que journal
Bravo Matthew Goode. He IS Robert Evans. Just a fantastic performance.
mesmorizing. absorbing. amazing

Right? Every time he’s on screen I can’t take my eyes off the screen!

He nailed Bob Evans' voice - uncanny.
I found most of The Offer to be fairly humdrum. But Matthew Goode as Evans? BRILLIANT. I was mesmerised.
Matthew was masterful and memorizing.
He played the character so well that at times I was laughing because he's just that good. Very underrated actor that should be in way more films.
HE NAILED IT!!!
WTH Bubbee I had no idea you were British. Great accent skills you have.
This show has some of the greatest examples I’ve ever seen of actors portraying real people.
Love him in Watchmen
Loved Matthew...excellent work!
He was awesome in this
Extraordinary portrayal!!
Loved it. Great entertainment.
Nice work, Bubbe.
He was amazing. Thought over did voice a little. Have seen some interviews of Evans. Very good actor
Matthew Goode is pure gold
Another one of the amazing British actors that dominate the modern silver screen for the past 10 years or so!
Too old to start a tenure as 007 now, but initially I had vied for Matthew Goode to take on the Bond mantle fifteen years ago.

Sounds familar. That's why I give actors their dialogue to say. Their discerning is warped and opinions puff.
@@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat Actually, l think MG had a point there. Could you give us a sample of some dialogue you wrote? Just a line?

Definitely not too old for Bond. Hope Goode gets the role😍
Goode was funny and amazing in The Offer…love the series🥰
Definitely could be a Loki variant
Love Matthew's Bob Evans. Loved the series.
Hey Collider... we don't really need to see the interviewer's bed, do we? What is she, 12?
Matthew and Burn Gorman were fucking dynamite on this show holy shit
He's just so funny 😹😹😹😹
Wow I didn't know he was British! Great American accent.
I am so sad I have no way to watch this masterpiece in our country! 😢
Could it be The Theory Of Everything that he turned down?
this dude was magnificent
Where did Evens get that accent?
New York accent plus sinuses to me
He's an even better version of Evans. Magic kate Blanchett level stuff
he stole the entire show
He should've kept that 70s image - looks much better.
Pador exliasio lausa meitte.
I bet he meant danish girl
Boopee!
