you apologizing for falling into a rabbit hole is so funny cause i think that's how almost everyone in the fandom eventually fell in love with the group as well😭 it always starts with curiosity and that's how they get you... would love to see more plave reactions from you as it seems like the members have already endeared you from the little that you've seen!

Vlast (plave's company) was in a documentary before their debut. Their cto showcased their mocap suits. It might look different now but it should still be quite similar. All we know for sure is that they also have to wear mics and their face tracking device.
Fyi, even if they entirely glitched out, the members' identity will not be revealed. Only their avatars are broadcasted so they would just turn Invisible on screen. This happened to bamby in their latest livestream.
The reason they are more prone to glitches during their livestreams as opposed to during official events is because they have different equipment for each.
Idk for sure how they film the challenges but I was under the impression that the idols and plave filmed separately and are later edited together. But if you watch yejun and eunho's spot challenge with zico, they were able to hold hands with zico. Eunho also mentioned that he talked to zico so I think they did meet irl. So the challenges were either filmed together or vlast's staff are just that talented.
Vlast's tech is constantly improving. Their renders are also extremely detailed. In close up shots you can see the texture in their eyebrows. The soles of their shoes have patterns and the members even have reflections in their practice room mirror.
About the props, I think some are actual objects irl that are motion captured. For example, noah's guitar, their script and their cakes. Others are probably virtual. For example, the watermelon and songpyeon.
I have a limited understanding of tech so this is just what i understood. Please take it with a grain of salt. Pllis, please correct me if i got something wrong.
Fun fact! The reason hamin has binary numbers coming out of his mouth when he opens it is because he is part of yejun's line. Yejun decided to give him that ability. When hamin joined bamby's line, he got bamby's ability too. But instead of flowers, he had binary numbers.
Hamin doesn't have a birth year for lore reasons. It might be revealed soon since it was revealed that hamin's birth would be explained in the next comeback. It's most likely not their real birthdays because noah couldn't even remember his own birthday. But I think it's a good thing. They would be able to celebrate their birthdays with their family and friends.
The part that you liked in the sixth summer was yejun's part. The next part was sung by noah.
The motion capture stuff does take a long time to film. Yejun mentioned that way 4 luv took 5 days to film. They filmed for the entire day and even slept in one place like they were living together.
Yes, that was hamin in pixel world. He's technically the lead rapper because eunho's the main rapper. But sometimes eunho sings instead so hamin might have more rap parts.
They were actually imitating their official lyric video for pixel world.
If you wanna see all the abilities together, I would probably suggest something like idol radio because they showed the host their abilities there.
Yes, it was the place from the mv. The livestreams sometimes have their houses as the background.
Their abilities change with every comeback/event. Fundamentally, it doesn't change. Just the aesthetics. For example, yejun's bubbles used to look more realistic. After the sixth summer, it became more cartoony. After way 4 luv, it became bubbles of the member's representative animals and colors. Hamin's ability looked like a snowman because it was changed after their Christmas stream.
The trail thing for their hands is technically not considered their ability. I think it was modeled after those edits.
Some backstory:
Vlast is not an entertainment company. They are a tech company that focuses on game engine, vr/vfx, & animation. They used unreal engine software with their own mocap tech in order to create plave.
It was hard for them to get into contact with agencies, record labels and shows. They were consistently rejected. They also reached out to famous songwriters and choreographers but no one would take them seriously since they were a start up. The songwriter gave them a b tier song and the choreographer, despite being paid 10 million won, gave them choreography that looks like it was made for a children's song.
Due to this, the members decided to just write the song and do the choreography themselves. Now that plave are more popular, the ceo has revealed that there are many people offering them songs, advertisements and show appearances etc. However, the members have decided to reject any offered songs because they want to continue producing their own music.
Since all of the songs are self produced, they sometimes include references to their livestreams. The references are also reflected in their choreography.
Fun fact! Bamby and hamin choreographed their entire fancon.
Plave usually does livestreams twice every week. Their company is building an ar studio and plan to invite other artists to do a talk/variety show. Plave might also be getting webtoons and animations etc. They are also expected to have another concert in autumn.
I've already had a couple of friends tell me they can't see the appeal and there's no visuals (I did disagree with them and said their visuals are just different), so there's definitely people who don't get it for sure. I do try to be open-minded about new things, and honestly I just really had a great time looking into them and their music! Thank you for the information, it's very helpful!❤
@@EmberWishesI kinda understand where they’re coming from with them saying “there’s no visuals so no appeal” but I also don’t. If you watch their livestreams religiously like I do lol you get to know them on a more “personal” level and they really feel like real people. Maybe it helps that I understand a fair amount of Korean so I can watch the livestreams when they’re airing, but they also add pretty accurate auto generated subtitles afterwards.
It's almost sad how grateful the comments are for people just being open minded about our boys. Plli is one of the nicest fandoms in the world, and yet we experience so much hate and unconsensual doxing just because people can't understand that they're real, talented people. Yes the comments have been so sweet and the fandom seem so wholesome and just glad that I gave them a chance... it just makes me want to love and support PLAVE more.
Even reading comments on their TikTok challenges have people making fun of them, saying it must be awkward for other groups, assuming it's AI etc. Then when they learn it's motion capture, arguments ensue over if PLAVE record alone or if they're there with the person (even within the fandom people were disagreeing on it).
It's sad to see their talent overlooked and non-pllis not giving them a chance. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video - I just reacted to a guide to them yesterday so please look forward to that soon! ❤

Don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it but Plave stuff doesnt really get struck unless its an actual stage! And to see Bamby’s powers the offical Plave accounts have a video of him dancing to Illit’s Magnetic where he uses them. It’s currently their most recent UA-cam Short.

Thanks for giving plave a chance !! It seems that you are still confused on how their technology works. So basically they motion track in their studio, then their data will be rendered in the computer and then lastly their final version will be rendered in the final video/background, even the shadows are generated thats why it’s impossible to see their real face just because of glitches.
Oh and with their super tech, it’s all possible to do it live, just like vtuber!

When I first heard there was going to be a Virtual Kpop group, I wasn't expecting much... but needless to say that I, like many of us, fell into the rabbit hole they opened up under our feet. They are extremely talented and hilarious. The only difference between theme and other idols is that they use their avatars and tracking technology to hide their actual identities. The guys have even said themselves that they don't care about haters and criticism because it's all free advertising when people talk about them.

About the tiktok with BOYNEXTDOOR and BAMBY, its actually a separate footage. The real life idol is really dancing by himself and they just edit Bamby in. They're getting good at making it look realistic recently like their recent collab with ZICO for example. But old collabs are a lot more obvious that they're filmed separately cause real life idols would just stand still before dancing lolol.
The virtual props they use during livestreams are actual props in real life too that are given rigs and 3D models as well. Although sometimes they just use a placeholder for some props. Their tech is really cool and keeps advancing. I hope you react to clips of their concert as well, especially Hamin's performance of The Search.
