  • Stress is everywhere in our modern world. The demands of parenting can make that stress even harder to manage. So, would spending a few minutes doing nothing, without any distractions every day be helpful? Of course, but where to find the time in a busy schedule?
Would you also love to find the time to spend with your kids?
Supposing we combine both of these? Would that help?

i grew up christian pentecostal in new york. my father told me himself that i am his property. i had to go to church and follow his orders or i would be beaten. now i live in china, i have my own son. i dont raise him religious or atheist, i simply raise him. i want him to be the person he was born to be and do my best to keep his growth from religious, cultural, or other kinds of interference.

    Gibran Khalil Gibran :
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
    Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Khalil Gibran was a talented writer, poet and good human being. Osho is a con man who took peoples life savings and owned a fleet of 100 Rolls Royces.
No enlightened man wants ONE Rolls Royce much less a fleet of 100.

@@ExtrovertedCenobite I don't know how can anyone decide what an enlightened man wants or not want. I have observed that enlightenment has proved to have several paths, and every path and relevant person has it's own preferences. Saying that he shouldn't have accepted Rolls Royces or gifts as an enlightened person is like we shouldn't eat with spoons if we have hands.

Wonderful! And so much contrary to modern society where children are eternally fusioned with their parents because the consumer paradigm requires it for its own survival. This is such an honest way of telling people that children are spiritual beings, not possessions. It is what the late Françoise Dolto said, the eminent child therapist. Thanks for posting this invaluable video. Osho may be shocking at times (why are there no comments here....) but he's always bluntly honest.

I hope my parents did not stunt my growth. I listened to them. I am sure they have prevented me making mistakes. But then we learn from our mistakes early in life. Many parents can't hold on to this message. Even today I like to advise my grown up adult son, but many times I can sense that he thinks I am wasting my time. Osho is right - perhaps I was 'conditioned' to thinking in a certain way which may have hampered my true understanding of the world.

And methinks an [enlightened] village would be much more adept at properly raising children than even most enlightened/adept parent or pair of parents...and I don't see many enlightened villages in this world even when I look for them...so yeah.

It is not necessary to copy the parents. The children since the most remote childhood imitate singers, dancers, presenters, superheroes, tv programs. And the parents applaud them : "I must be doing the correct thing. Dad and Mom are laughing lots, so the neighbors, family. " They are investing in the child, a future success, but all in all - we will ave another carbon copy, again. Thanks for the video.
