Hope you share some trip highlights when you are back. Have an amazing time And October is the perfect month to go to Europe - less tourists and avoid the heat. Enjoy!!

I hope your flight isn't delayed. I don't think flying in 2 days in advance is necessary but the day before is good, especially this day and age with so many flight delays. Most people speak English in Europe so you will be fine. I used to live in Spain. Which cities are you visiting? Have a wonderful time on your cruise! ❤

I always feel uneasy about flying but I just tell myself that it is safe and that I want to see things I can't unless I fly so I do it. I'm not deathly afraid, just uneasy... ❤️

You are not completely wrong - you are mostly right
In case you want more advice from someone who has done a lot of European travel - although I greatly agree with you on most of your points.
Sounds like an amazing trip - love the Mediterranean
1 I rarely buy travel insurance unless there is a realistic chance of cancelling or a great chance of losing $$ - airlines give credit, etc
2Two days early seems extreme unless you want to spend time at that port city. I can see the day before but 7 hours - you should be ok - depends distance airport to port
3 take advantage of all your time in port and do all the things you want - you may never go back to these places again. Your legs may be sore but you will survive - and you won’t be running marathons. Pompeii is a lot of walking but I agree you can’t miss Rome or Pompeii
4 new or old clothes doesn’t matter Take lots of black and clothes that don’t show dirt so you can rewear them or wash in the sink. Rewarding jeans is great. I agree do not fill your suitcase so you can buy things and bring them home shipping from Europe is expensive - but not horrid to pay for a heavy bag on the way back. Hiking shoes are great for walking all the stone and conked streets in Europe - but wear your shoes a few times before you go if they are new - blisters are not fun
5 yoga pants on plane and shoes you can take off so you ankles and feet are not restricted for the 8+ hour flight. No elastic waist - I agree
6 backpacks is MUCH BETTER choice than open top bag - just wear in front- - don’t leave anything valuable in outside pocket in Rome . As long as fits under seat in front of you = personal item. On international flight will be able to put larger bag overhead plus either bag under seat in front of you
7 I agree take pills in pharmacy bottle with label - any medicine in a labeled bottle - don’t take medicines in generic package without prescription info - I have never had an issue and never thought to call a doctor for a note - the prescription bottle should cover that - but that is just the way I do it you and I think alike here
8 know a few things if you can such - hello / good bye / thank you but there are apps now that will translate and everywhere you are going they will speak basic English - a bit of an ugly American philosophy but it is a fact that English is spoken to some degree everywhere you are going - I understood your Italian :). Accent isn’t there but words understandable
9 airtags are a luxury not a necessity - and won’t do much good if stolen - better for misplaced or lost things
    10. I completely agree I did inside cabin for two week cruise along Norway coast - much cheaper and can’t see much at night anyway - having a balcony is definitely nicer - but if never in the cabin- who cares - only issue might be is gets rough and you get seasick - otherwise better to spend $ on what you will enjoy more
11, Rome has the most pickpockets anywhere - watch for gypsy women and kids going for your pockets - all train stations and tourist spots in Rome - keep everything in backpack and wear it in front so no one can grab it or cut it off -- the higher the tourist season the more pickpockets. I have been to Rome 4 times and never had anything taken but have seen it happen to others. Be smart and watch around you

Thanks for all your great help... I was thinking maybe I can fake an Irish accent so I don't give Americans a bad rap for not learning the language and they can think I'm a rude Irish person instead. Lol. Just kidding..🤣❤️

@@kcsopinionsterriblevideoskill LOL. Similar to the idea of putting a Canadian flag patch on a backpack that used to be a popular idea.
