Groundhog Day…A cynical hvac tech finds himself reliving the same day over and over again when he goes on location to the small town of PunxsutawneyNC to film a UA-cam report about their annual Groundhog Day heat problem. His predicament drives him to distraction, until he sees a way of turning the situation to his advantage. While he did not win the heart of Andie McDowell, he discovers the secrets of Indian food.
You saw it too? I thought I was going crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once. They put me in a room. A rubber room. A rubber room with rats. Rats make me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once.
I know of 3 types of helicopters ( there could be more) but here they are 1) one that wants to make sure they don’t get ripped off parts ( them being replaced but not) 2) ones that watch what you do so if something happens again they will try to fix it themselves 3) I’m this one, just fascinated watching you work. But then there are some that are all 3. I just like watching your videos just like I also watch plumbers videos because it’s just fascinating
Thought I was having a flashback for a minute! 😂 I never liked 90% furnaces in the attic. We’d get cold enough they would freeze sometimes. I had to heat tape a few traps because of that. I also used to loop the tubing going to the pressure switch up so if it got water in it the water would drain back into the collector box.
What a beautiful location for that attic unit ! Lots of room ! You could set a nice stool up there and leave it for servicing needs. Amazing kitchen spices going on there...Curry is one of the most used spices and some folks will mix up their own batch of curry but you can sure tell if its in the house and used often. Time to relocate the exits for the heater condensate it seems. Curiosity got all of the questions solved for a later visit, that worked out well.
Those furnace drain trap boxes need to be cleaned out from time to time, they are usually the reason for 90% furnace drain issues. They clog up with rust and sediment from those 90% ht exchangers. Indian Meth Lab.
In 37yrs., I have found that those Carrier drain traps were the culprit more often than not. After cutting the drain tube to remove and clean the trap, I would not glue it back together. Either use a fernco or a piece of plastic tubing with clamps for easy removal .
Oh Theodore I know what you meant when you opened the upper door and said “ oh this thing has a smart valve”. They had to be the worst valve Honeywell ever made. The second and third generations weren’t any better. As for the helicopter I would have sent him outside to see if the trap was covered( 😂😂😂). Usually gets them out of the way long enough to get your work done and not complaining about the cost.👍👍🇨🇦
This was an easy one,get all kinds of problems like that on 90% with water, the pipes not pitched right so the exhaust gets full of water or I've seen the water freeze in them before too

Same here! I'm number 3. Although I'm a pilot, I'm fascinated by the HVAC and electrical trades.. Love these videos..
I'm having deja vue watching this one. Am I losing my mind, or is it repeating?
Stop Stopping HVAC at your service. 😎👍
Ted, at about 9:00 you've got some Groundhog Day going on with the editing . . .
I need to think while I'm doing service. The more I'm interrupted, the less of a job I'm able to do.
Deja vu

I put a thumbs up for you crawling in the crawl space with one hand. Kudos!

The tired but good HVAC technician comes late on a cold and rainy South Carolina night. Can't ask for more then that. 😎
If the drain can't be flushed from inside are you going to need to make some kind of access panel in the deck? Or move the line?
you’re a trooper Ted, customer service at its best😊

Is this the person on The Big Bang Theory?

Stupid smart valve
Hope you had a dust mask on! Fk crawl spaces.
Heck with the dust mask, I use a properly fit half faced respirator with P100 filters. I HATE breathing in fiberglass and mouse poo.
Attic.
My bad...crawlspaces do suck.
