The cottage is gorgeous. I would be nervous about renters though. My experience is that they aren't careful. I would remove anything that you would be upset if it got broken. Also, think about child-proofing. I'd require a hefty deposit for such a nice rental.
This isn’t really a huge concern. There’s fines established for broken furniture, and insurance. Services like Airbnb have a 3 million dollar damage coverage option. It’s not a cheap $50 a night rental. It’ll likely be like $250+ a night. People doing Airbnb Vrbo know what they are getting into.

out of all of your projects over the years, the stone cottage is by far my favorite. because it truly is a Sharrah Stevens vision come to life. Yes, you made it for "us" as you say, but truly you didn't have a client or partner's vision you had to design around and I think this is the first time you truly got to commit to your own vision on a project from beginning to end. And how telling that it centers around family and community. Love seeing your own visions come to life Sharrah, you've made such a beautiful home!

As a former hotelier I would be soooo nervous to have used such gorgous decor because not all guests are mindful of one´s things. But on the other hand, I would totally love to stay at the Stone Cottage--I can picture a vintage or Scandi Christmas vibe --- if you have it advertised that way, guests would have to be conscientious of it when they make reservations.

Our family has stayed in multiple AirB and B properties at Christmas time and they were not decorated for Christmas. It would have added such a festive touch to our stay. When traveling, you can only carry so much, so it would be a nice gesture for your guests❤️ You and your mother are the Christmas decorating queens!! Love this !! I would add a lamp to media room. I don’t Iike to watch TV in a fully dark room and I wouldn’t want canned lights on 23:22 . Or maybe they are on a dimmer switch. And a lamp just makes the space more versatile. You’d make that sweet place look amazing at Christmas!!!

As to decorating the Stone Cottage, seasonal decorations are fine, mimicking what nature does seasonally. But since it’s a welcoming place for people of all backgrounds, you never know what they celebrate or don’t celebrate. Seasonal seems like a “safe” way to welcome the season without alienating. ❤

Having run an AirBnB, my take on it was to give the option of decorating for the Holidays by supplying a tree and decorations. Not all your guests will celebrate Christmas, so if you decide to decorate keep the decor simple.
I was sprucing up the pillows on my couch this morning. I thought this couch looks sad. I wonder if Article couches can handle my husband’s size.
