The guy making the music (beat) is telling the guy on the computer (engineer) what to do....what to loop, what to keep on the track right through and whatever. Not gonna lie though credit due.
This is simple: If the guy on the computer was that good--- he would be starring in the video with Busta, instead of being the "guy on the computer." Don't disrespect Terrace Martin like that.
I get exactly what you were saying Z..not taking any credit away from terrace or busta at all..but engineer being able to A) understand exactly what “language” the producer was speaking and B) being able to quickly execute w/o letting the creative energy fade is suuuper important in the creative process...not to mention, terrace is VERY particular and knows exactly what he wants..that pressure can bust a pipe or two lol..well done on both sides 💪🏾
terrace martin a genius for this and his work with k dot stamp, learnt alot he also really the only on the crate too use no outside sounds, just the sounds he got, dope
This is one of the best music production videos I’ve watched in a LONG time. Listening to Terrace’s passion for music, his knowledge of gear, arrangement and usage of quirky sounds & chemistry with everyone in the studio is super inspiring as a young beatmaker.
This man is what separates beatmakers from producers. I've come to understand that now. The way he understands the daw software and audio to communicate exactly what he wants and work his own analog patches, and when he is unable to communicate what he wants he can sit down and find/arrange something himself. Even from the song what Busta said he gave him the rhyme pattern for the song so he could be writing while he finished the beat. A lot of people don't understand that's why Khaled makes so much $ and that's what Q Jones did back in the day.
Damn. Busta looks like a big bear. What a huge dude. Beat is dope. I like the way how the put shitz together with the beatbox. I also Lov how he use everything to make drums and stuff. The other producers use there own drumkits but he only use what's in the box. That's how this shit have to be. He understand that format. Dope 👍🏽
strange fun fact, when i was younger there was this concert where you had to do 4 hours work and you got a ticket. it was called orange rock corps. anyway, i ended up painting a room with busta. i can confirm, he is fucking massive.
5 years later you realize you had some cheap ass headphones or garbage ass phone how the fucc you get Laa-ays? When it's obvious and you can clearly hear him saying BLAZEEEEEEE because those are the chips LMFAO
awesome example of a real producer/sound engineer! this is very rare these days. his knowledge of mics and hardware is great. i wish the trap producers were like this.
There’s something about videos like this, where we can experience the chemistry between an artist and producer. The flow pattern technique is exactly where I start with vocals/melody. Thanks for the insight. I’ll be back for more!
that thing with the hot sauce bottle was insane..you could have just put it into a sampler and played out chords, but he really used that ear and old school innovation to make that, im fuckin inspired
Terrace Martin is ill anyway but this really showcased his creativity and what it's like to be in session with someone who has spent years honing a craft
Dude on computer deserves more credit
Never forget the one with the vision created suppn for the computer
