showing the steering wheel pattern was a good idea guys 5/5 best instruction video
Toronto Canada
Best video on alley dock. Cause it shows the direction of the steering wheel that’s the most important part. If u have the steering wheel pattern down pack u will make it every time
Love how you didn't have to hang outside of the window. I would like to learn to do it this way. Great job
I just one shotted the alley dock in class IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY. .. they think IM JESUS NOW 🤣🤣🤣
I did the same at the DMV for my alley dock & everyone wanted tips I couldn’t really explain lol. “Position yourself good, watch the trailer, make the adjustments needed, & take it slow” is all I can really say.
Just did 9 alley docks with no pull up back to back :)
Going to try this tomorrow at school see if it helps me. I having a lot problems with alley dock
The majority of videos on UA-cam about reversing give basic information. I struggled with backing up until I tried to understand what happens at the kingpin. That's when I improved on backing up because I now understand what is taking place. I was focusing too much on the end of my trailer because of teachings turn your steering to the left to go right or right to go left, that only works in straight backing up once you have to back into an alley or around a corner that no longer works. I now, back up with knowledge of what's happening at the kingpin, while focusing on the entire trailer not just the end knowing my steering controls the tractor and not the trailer. So when I turn my steering to the right the back of the tractor unit goes to the right taking the front of the trailer with it which then pushes the end of the trailer to the left.
taking my test for the 3rd time on Friday thank you so much for this.
@@NelsonTexas1 as a matter of fact I did my dude . driving now.
@@RattlesnakeCoalition did you follow the tips in this video? I test tomorrow.
Wow he's setup hi. My trainer taught me to setup favoring the ally side. After watching this maneuver setting up hi then backing the trailer to center then turning hard makes way more sense.
Thank u soooo much. I just passed my Class A road test nailed all my backs !!!!
EXCELLENT VIDEO & EASY TO UNDERSTAND, thank you so very .much
That's a lot of damn space, I'm training in a KFC chicken box 😐
I would like to say thank you for the vedio I pass my test.best alley dock vedio.
After watch the video again and again that I found it’s very useful to everyone!
Bam! You're in there. Practice makes perfect.
Thank you! I passed my test
Your videos are very very helpful thanks i had trouble today with all the backing and the driving instructor never there at the school and takes 3 hour lunch breaks and going to try this tomorrow
Thanks Chick, congratulations for the video, I already left it like.
I LOOKED @ ALL THESE ALLEY DOCK VIDEO'S THIS ONE IS THE BEST THX. SO MUCH.
thank you for your insights. Preciate you.
Great job
My cdl test was alley dock that's my favorite. When I set brakes got out look did same honk horn
This is a nice video ... thank u ...
Good video, Thanks
Amazing!!!!
You make it look so easy! Your videos are giving me so much confidence...I believe I am going to nail it if I keep watching...way to go!
It’s a whole different world watching and actually performing this.
It looks easy, I spent 2hours today and did get it right
thank you soo much.
+Chick Mooney my school doesn't at all do it like this, they have us almost turn in the beginning what appears to be a jackknife but isn't if you look back, then we make the corrections to get it in. Idk why it's so different.
Yeah this method doesn’t work at my school where I’m training and testing. We don’t get nearly as much space so far away from the cone
Would you get a penalty here for not observing blind side at all?
Are you using After Effects to do your animations graphics?
Thanks for great video, how about alley backing from blind side?
When the Light frontal left side are on the line just turn everytinhg cuz the tire, will go strait line?
Is the trailer and the steering wheel the same? The drives makes a lot of rotation and I don't see the truck reacting to it.
If you have all the space in the world of course you can do that , the tractor was in a position of control when trailer was at the beginning of the cones.
U guys get waaaay more space than actual state req
Nice
I’ve been driving for 30 years… is that what they call backing up to a tight dock in between two trucks?
Drilling this and offset backing into my head
My school doesn't train alley back no room went to test course and watch then Saturday went back no one there practice with full size van it's dirt so I can tell where others have been very helpful
am I the only one who noticed that the steering wheel does not perfectly correlate with the tires. great video though.
Wish I could do that way. My second lesson in backing. Either my trailer is too late or too early or too close to the cone...and my rd test is after 15 days.
Good
Awww, try this at a dollar general 😁😁
Holy shit this looks fun
We need to know that major correction
I have my CDL and I’m struggling with docking lol. They didn’t teach us this in school where I went. 4 months and I still suck at it
What if the alley is not 70 feet wide?
I do back alley docking at a particular place in Louisville, KY where the outer boundary is not seventy feet; maybe ½ that. Not only that the place is surrounded by dumpsters and trash on the ground.
Call ahead and insist that you only will deliver to alley docks with 70 feet or greater of space.
Dam he's good
What sucks is that my school taught me bottom of the wheel so now when i try learning more from videos im all confused
ما فائده الخطوط
Its my dream
I would like to see how you do this when you don’t have all the space in front. I need one with like half of that imaginary line you show. Would be extremely helpful
😞 hmmmm not the same driver .. and the tractor is reacting different than the steering he's performing you can tell when he's attacking he's drift and the car on the mirror.. good video tho
yeah, because it's spliced together and edited footage. This "90 degree maneuver" is just a guy pulling out of the box but played in reverse!
The problem for me is not seeing how the student set up for the backing
If it's that easy why the guy steering had on a red shirt and the guy that gets out has a black shirt 👕 on?
This video leads the viewer to believe that the driver shown in the cabin is driving in synchronous with the truck scene (seen*) in the video. This was my belief the first few times that I saw this video. Upon the last time I've seen the video I noticed toward the end it doesn't show the driver steering the tractor back in line with the trailer at the last three feet of the box. Even though we see the tractor starting to line up and follow the trailer we don't see the driver in the video steering at the same time. We see him holding the steering wheel in the same position. I'm thinking they overlaid the wrong recording of this video. Leads me to believe it wasn't done in one shot by the demonstrator either. Not to mention it was a totally different driver.
Super!! 👍🏼👍🏼
My weakness 😂
So ashamed of myself
Failed this week going to try again next week. Your please pray for me 😃😃
Adam
Trained this over the last couple days. We only used 15 feet from pivot cone, and only 17 feet down the 'imaginary' line that is depicted in this video. We all got it after a few tries. This looked way too easy.
Can you image if yards had all this space to work with? Lol
MOST SCHOOLS USE SHORTY TRAILERS... THEY REACT FASTER SO THIS WONT WORK LIKE THAT WITH THOSE TRAILERS
In the real world, you dont usually have that much room to manuver
My 3yr old can do that
we dont get to line up that wide in class
With all that room, there shouldn't be a need to do a pull-up.
Neither he nor you was born knowing how to do this. How stupid did YOU look in your early days????
@@farmerea you do realize that on the REAL CDL maneuvers test you only have about 2/3 or 1/2 that room, right? it's way harder than "oh look at me just whiz it in there, that's all you need to know"
Amazing! r u a German? lol
Wait the guy in the video has s RED shirt. The one that got out has a BLACK shirt. 🤨
And definitely with not this huge space here. Too much space here.
Setting up that high up is very unrealistic for most places. In fact, you'd be lucky to even have half that space.
Guy did it in a automatic, so it doesn't count
How did your shirt turn black, my god you’re magical. And this video is crap ain’t no inspector going to let you start that far out what were you 50 60 feet out from the box we’re allowed to start 8 to 10 feet out.
There’s tons of room on the actual road testing yard. The examiners will allow it. I did it with no issues. It’s the practice yards that are tight
Instant fail if you leave the truck running and you get out of it…🤦🏼♂️
It depends on what state you’re in. Here in North Carolina, you can set your brakes to get out and look
Liars
I would like to say thank you for this video!! I passed my CDL exam this week!!
congrats bro, I will try to take my roadtest after my trainig for my class1 too...
Congratulations
How the hell u memorize outside inspection 😩
@user-rl4ri5mz7s oh no, I got it down now. It's pretty much repetition
Just remember rubber hoses are “no abrasions, bubbles, or cuts”, rubber seals and wiper blades are “not cut, torn, or dry rotted”, metal is “not bent, cracked, or broken”, plastics are “not chipped, cracked, or broken” and everything is “properly mounted and secured with no missing hardware”.
