    If the chip is powered with 14 Volts, up to what signal input level can it be set, just before it starts clipping? I don't see this information in the data sheet. I hope you want to answer me. From already thank you very much.

    Can I use a voltage of 12v 5a? How much will it overload?

      If you have 12V with 5 Amp capability I think that will work fine. It could overload it if you play the input very load and you have a smaller load than 8 ohms, but you will hear the distortion.

    Interesting video, thanks. I fried my TDA7375 with reverse voltage at 18 volts - since 7375 is pretty much discontinued I'm looking for a 7377 and I have a nice KMTech board for it.

      David Luther I definitely think that the specifications are done with optimal conditions. They must use a cold plate to get the power out because I get a very hot heat sink well below the spec.

    Yeh, I reckon 'specs' are marketed on the rather ambitious side. I can imagine the conversation between the engineers and marketing! It sounded pretty good at 1W - would be good in a iPod-type speaker system - I wrote this just before you got to the point where you mentioned you were playing your phone through the BT board :) These are the type of videos I really like Eddie - practical application of stuff; sort of cements what you are explaining.
    How hot do speakers in my home stereo get, any idea? 70W amp driving a pair of 8Ohm floor standers. If I drive them very loud, after an hour they start complaining. By loud, I mean pretty much as loud as you could bear for that sort of time!

    I have an almost identical amp (same chip but minor PCB differences). I have been wondering what's the best input voltage that results in the least amount of distortion. I have 4Ω speakers. Also what max amperage rating for the PSU do you recommend?
    JohnAudioTech made a video about a similar chip (TDA7297) and recommended not to go over 11V at 4Ω.

      That is such a great question! I have been working out a video that I want to do - about power rating and how to get the best out of your amplifier. I really like JohnAudioTech, but it is the way that he rates power - which is considered the more accurate and truthful way - but I think it is not the right way;) I suggest using the highest voltage that the Amp is designed for. This will give the most dynamic power. Music is not a continuous sign wave but is dynamic so let go of the reigns;)

      What do you think of his claim that at 4Ω, you shouldn't go over a certain voltage due to increased harmonic distortion?

      I’ll have to test it with that load. I think if the voltage is too low, then transient music needing the higher voltage will certainly clip resulting in harmonic distortion. Audio is fun and so applicable to all analog design.

    Are you using the Canon 16-35mm f 2.8 (Version 1) lens to record your videos?

      LOL if he was, you would not need to ask! But yes the camera may run with a f that give to shallow a dept of field in this video, I think it maybe has to do with maybe ISO settings in the camera, because the light is fine and focus is stable.

      @@galibrahman5589 First sorry, I thought that you did a funny remark about his camera and lenses ability to make a watchable image. :-)
      A 16-35 do have a wary great depth of field, so everything from near to far would be sharp. But that lens do also have some coloring and a slightly fish eye to it, not normally something to important but when you are filming gear with straight edges and lines on a oscilloscope, it can be wary annoying. Unless the version you are talking about is of a insanely high quality, like the Canon top end 35mm, 50mm or 85mm, where f2.8 is not max.

      Wow - you guys are good! Galib, how did you guess? When I’m filling the picture with the scope screen, then I’m using the Canon EF 24-105 f4. Both have the metabones speed booster on a G4.

      @@KissAnalog If you are using a 16-35 when you are talking to the camera, as Galib Rahman is asking about, then I have to admit that your setup did fool me! But okay a G4 and the speed boost, do change the result a great deal. :-)

    I have thought about your "safe-frame", the area you know the camera is recording. I write this so that other less knowable readers like me can benefit from it. :-)
    You are wary good at keeping your gear and demonstrations in the cameras frame, but to me, it may look like you are using much time and energy to do so.
    If so, do I hope you can use these two tips:
    1) Best but most expensive, get a small monitor that is out of the picture but shows you what is been recorded.
    2) Mark up a "safe-frame", make some "invisible" marks on your table that you always frame your camera to, and then have some inner marks where you know that you have 2-3 inch until object is out of frame = a "safe-frame".

    I`m use exactly same DC-DC cnverter in my car to power my PC computer which I put inside 2DIN hole instead of original CD Player. It work perfect and after set up to match 12V for power up PC I dont have any problem with PC stability then before when PC sometimes ocasionaly have reboot loops or can not to boot up. This is 10A DC-DC converter.

      The speaker only 10*2 , 20w speaker i ordered mini power supply 12v 4a max power supply overload 6a, im excited to repair and build it 🙏

    LOL that's easily a 1000W 99% THD in 0.2 seconds, why not specify it like that! :-)
    You are right in that there have to be some sort of global standard that everyone can use, but I am not sure if you can tell the sound by the data alone, what if we take an tube amp with a heigh-ish THD, it may be just what make it sound good, while the same in a solid state could sound bad?
    I did really like your part about dynamic range where two waves can amplify each other and suddenly you've got clipping where you did never expect it.
    How do you avoid that, you can't listen to every music in the world to check?

      This is the great question, how do you properly spec an amp? I agree, not all distortion is bad or as bad as another. I think if it is under 1% then that covers what is really discernible. If a tube amp is 0.3% and a Solid-state is 0.01 and the tube amp sounds better, is it because of distortion or dynamic power output? I think, dynamic power output! I want to develop a new standard, and I expect I’ll learn how to develop this with or people like you.

    The reason your amp is not performing as the datasheet is because Amazon sells counterfeit Chinese clones not ST original
