That 2018 season is VERY deceptive by the way : - league was in transition - only one 60 win team : Houston - neither Conference was particularly competitive Which makes the whole “KD Superteam” narrative a little suspicious : - the 2018 Warriors we’re NOT as good as the 2017 team - they took their foot off the pedal, and coasted during the regular season. - Lebron’s path through the Eastern Conference was at “JV” level, and even though Kyrie had left he still had KLove - 19/11 in the Finals - and a deep bench. - his EC competition (Cavs were the 4th seed) : Pacers (Best player : Oladipo) Raptors (BP : Lowry/DeRozan) Celtics (BP : 2nd year J. Brown) FIRST : anyone saying that a PRIME LBJ team, going against THAT field, ISN’T the favourite in every series, is being completely disingenuous. For context : the Rockets were the #1 seed…but NOBODY had them as the Favourite against the Dubs! SECOND : of the three EC series they played, the Cavs demolished the #1 seed Raptors (which they always did) in a sweep…but struggled against the lower seeded teams - both went 7 games. The East was MEDIOCRE, and yet the Cavs - the favourites - still had problems. THIRD : The Dubs WEREN’T unbeatable : the Rockets showed that…game 1 against the Cavs showed that…. My overall point is that while you can say that beating the Dubs may have been a bridge too far, Lebron taking the Cavs to the Finals with “no help” is overblown…
Shannon Sharpe argues his MJ vs LeBron points like a Filipino run LeBron love Facebook group. He literally sounds like a MJ hate meme. I'm waiting for him to mention Muggsy Bogues and using that as the definition of the 90's. The moment he said "Magic was like 75" he made it clear how limited his debate skills are. I'm certain Rich Paul and LeBron literally give him a script. 55+ year old former pro-athlete talking like a FB tween is pathetic.
Nobody said it did lmfao, Jordan media brainwashed NPCS into thinking an irrelevent stat such as 6-0 actually mattered. "Winning" until it's the first round, where losses there don't matter nor exist
The fact that Shannon Sharpe bold enough to fix his mouth to say Jordan didn’t play anyone is so disrespectful to everyone in that era. That “He played plumbers” bs needs to stop

Would haves and ifs don’t count. He actually does have 11 championships in 12 appearances. The argument shouldn’t be who is the GOAT. It’s who you like the most. There are way to many variables to ever determine who actually is the best of all time.
Jordan? He faced the 1991 Lakers, the 1992 Blazzers, the 1993 Suns, the 1996 Sonics, the 1997 and 1998 Jazz. Each of those teams had at least one or two Superstars and Hall of famers. Plus, he disposed of the Pistons, Knicks, Pacers, again with superstars and hall of famers. Did LeBron leave a Superstar Hall of famer without a ring? Jordan did: Barkley, Ewing, Malone, Stockton, Miller, among others, never won a ring because of Jordan. You catch my drift Shannon Sharpe?

It’s as simple as this… Jordan only played 13 full healthy seasons… in that short time he accumulated 17 combined rings/mvps/finals mvps , along with 19 combined scoring titles/1st team all defense…. Add the fact he is the only player aside from Wilt Chamberlain to be top 5 in 2 separate career averages (points n steals) while also having the highest advanced basketball stats/analytics in history… nobody has combined that level of individual stats/accolades/winning in such a short amount of time … Jordan is the Goat..

Its an absurd argument that MJ didn't have any competitor compared to today's. Lebron just don't have it like Mike nor Kobe. What these analysts never bring up is the fact Jordan is #1 all-time in many advanced stats and LeBron is #2 in many of them. MJ also has the best gamerscore of all-time(which measures how great a players performance in a single game is) Also, MJ never faced a team like the Warriors because he was the team like the Warriors. Edit:Magic was 31yrs old in the 1990 finals! Thats not old and Magic had a GREAT PERFORMANCE in those finals. So the argument magic was old and washed is 100% false.

To make this comment short, the difference between MJ and LBJ is a Hall of Fame career.

All I'm saying is, the media focuses on the wrong things hence the debate is prolonged. The difference between MJ and whoever is compared to him is a Hall of Fame career.
The ONLY point that has to be made for MJ being the GOAT is that he did it all with ONE TEAM! and with the players he had!! He never asked to be a part of a super team or have one built around him!!
Anyone who thinks LeBron > MJ needs to consider just one (1) thing: Jordan (in just 11 "full" seasons with the Bulls) accomplished MORE than James in literally HALF the time. Case-closed. MJ = GOAT... and quite frankly I wouldn't even put LeBron at #2 all-time either. Jabbar gets that nod.
LeBron, in 11 healthy seasons in Cleveland, won one championship, lost four finals, and got swept twice while going 7-19 overall😬 Jordan in 11 healthy seasons in Chicago, won 6 championships, lost 0 finals, and never got swept in the finals 😬 and had a career record of 24-11in the finals 😬
Let's add, with MJ's team had the best NBA record till GS, won 2x 3 peats, no team has accomplished that yet. Lakers w/1. LJ w/all of his "superteams" hasn't come close to 96 Bulls record and not at least one 3peat.
These are the facts that not a lot of guys talk about. Jordan never lost a series he was supposed to win. Every series he lost he was projected to lose and was not the favorite. On the flip side, LeBron lost multiple series as the favorite. Any series that Jordan lost you can never say he was the main reason of them losing unlike LeBron where you can point out to two specifically once against Boston and once again Dallas where he was the determining factor of why they lost. MJ Play it against more MVP or MVP runner-ups (because he was the MVP) in his finals, opponents literally five out of the six western teams had either the MVP or MVP runner-up and 5 out of six had the best record in the Western conference. So MJ literally played the best possible candidate five out of the 6 years and the one season that they weren't. The top seed was the Seattle SuperSonics and we know how deadly they were that season. Also, everything is relative if you have two stars per team in the '90s. It's the equivalent of having three stars in the 2010s because it evens out at the end of the day. You have the same amount of stars then the same amount of role players on both sides. So all this he had better competition to play against with LeBron. Yeah he also had more stars on his team to even it out so it doesn't make sense and it doesn't hold water. Also two out of MJ6 finals. He was literally the only all-star Scotty wasn't even an all-star two of those finals. And truth be told there was a bigger disparity and talent between Dallas and Miami then Cleveland and Golden State. You had one all star on Dallas against three. All stars in Miami and in Cleveland you had three All Stars compared to four and one was on the decline with Draymond.
Facts they act like Lebron didn't have 2 extra allstars on his team when he played KD the 1st time... preseason they were picking Cleveland against the 73-9 warriors because nobody expected them 2 go 73-9. When KD got there they had made trades and lost some depth so actually Cleveland was deeper. They lost the same reason Lebron lost 2 the Spurs in 07 no jumper and on top of that Cleveland couldn't play defense and had no half court offense except Bron or Kyrie goin 1v1
Jordan also did it with NOT having a no-charge zone and WITH hand checking. What was just dismissed as a “hard foul” in Jordans era, would get u ejected today.
Exactly. The Bulls had a banner. 72-10 don't mean a thing without a ring. But according to Shannon the 16 Warriors are the best team ever assembled... That's probably why they almost got bounced by OKC in the playoffs...
@@Cain353they also played better competition. Let's not forget how weak and mediocre the NBA was in 1996. Bob Costas from NBC, Dr.J, Bird, Magic all said the NBA was watered-down. Actually, this video does a good job illustrating just how good those teams Jordan beat were. You can't say that Jordan had weak competition when he was the only person who could carry a team against them...
Anytime someone says jordan plaued nobodies. I just remind them those players were great during hand check league. Most these softies couldn't hang then.
@@khalifsamuels With rules much more rude toward offense. Just come back to the traveling rule of Jordan's era......you will see how much even super talents like Gannis will struggle, without even mentionning the other rules in favor of defense.
Shannon brings up The Warriors because they were the unbeatable boogeyman of the NBA during that period. He somehow penalizes Jordan for never facing such a team while completely failing to acknowledge/realize that Jordan & The Bulls were the boogeyman of the NBA during Jordan's era. Even in the late 80s. The Pistons had to literally beat the shit out of him to win and he kept coming back every year. When he beat them, they were still mostly in their prime.
The warriors weren't unbeatable though. Lebron fans keep telling everyone how the cavs should have won the year before had Kyrie or Love not go down. Or Michael Conley. The Thunder almost beat them. The Rockets should have beaten them and the Clippers put up a better fight then the Cavs who got swept.
It’s super disingenuous because the warriors had injuries plus draymond was suspended. It’s not like it was a full strength gsw when lebron won (needing kyrie to hit the decisive shot of course). Shannon out here acting like lebron got a ring against KD & Steph
this. and the Bulls would have beaten the Warriors, in 5 (old rules) or 6. (modern rules) but the Jazz or the Sonics could have beaten the Warriors, too.
6 - 0 means UNDISPUTED , which is extremely complicated to accomplish . And not only is there going to be those that don't want to admit it , there are going to be those that are not going to like it . This is where we are right now .
6-0 in 15 years is like being 6-0 on Friday the 13th. Dude is 6-9. Getting last place still counts as a lose. U can't say those years didn't count just because u sucked those years
why is it when fans argues for lebron it is about excuses and diminishing players which is btw, really disrespectful for players who paved the way for nba of today. Those who argue for MJ only have to tell his achievements What is wrong with bron's achievements? Can't stand alone for goat argument?
because most LBJ's achievement came from little context, someone already made a comparison about the context in both personal stats and achievement for both MJ and LBJ, sorry to say but it's not even close, for assist, we have to remember MJ played in the triangle offence, which means the ball will be passing around a lot and that will make assist very difficult to get, for rebound, MJ average less rebound but he is a guard, not a forward or center and if i remember correctly he has more offensive rebound than LBJ? For a center to average 6 rebound compare to a guard who also average 6 rebound in his career which is more impressive?
The team Jordan faced that was close GS was the 86 Celtics. Now it wasn't the finals, but they did have 5 HoF'erms. Bird, McHale, Parish, Walton, Johnson
They can't say that cause Jordan was only in the league 2 years.coming in in 84 while LeBron had been in the league 10 years before that Golden State team was formed
Shannon Sharpe can kick rocks while he hating on Jordan 😂💯. Lmao like I tell folks ALL the time. LJ and MJ both are great players. They don’t need to be compared for several basic reasons. They both are different era’s, they both played different positions. MJ was a SG then became a PF when he got old and on the Wizards. LJ always was a PF. MJ was a beast of a player even when he got old and on the Wizards, he could get the job done including knocking down game winning shots and other things. Sadly on the other hand LJ has recruited over 118 players in his career, played with sooooooo many hof players vs MJ, went and joined Wade along with Bosh and got two rings, can’t always bring his team back like Kobe, MJ and other legends. Has been up by 20+ points before then messed around and lost. MJ got two 3 peats which will never happen again. LJ, Booker and other guys these days love flopping all the time along with traveling especially Harden. They carry like it ain’t nothing aka like it’s Streetball!!!! MJ played baseball and still came back like a beast and got suspended 18 months for gambling when his father died but still did a lot that other players can’t do in an entire career just about. All I’m saying is don’t compare a father to his son or a son to their father. Don’t even compare MJ to Bill or Wilt because the era and rules were completely different. When it comes to rings, Bill is the goat. Points LJ is the goat. Players really to be fair need to be compared to other people who play their position. For example compare Wade to Jordan and LJ to Pippen, Magic or whoever. That’s all I’m saying. I respect ALL athletes and don’t have no reason at all to hate on anyone. Sports aren’t the same anymore because it’s about money, entertainment and politics. So this era don’t need to be compared to Jordan or anyone else’s era TBH imo. Also MJ, Barkley and other players always played even when they were severely hurt or sick. Guys these days like AD stay getting hurt and can’t stay in good shape 💯. MJ btw also played 9 seasons with ALL 82 games and got a DPOY. He has a lot of awards that no other player in history has. That’s what separates him from anyone else!!!!! Of course he needed Pippen. No player in history can get the job done by themselves and also it’s a team sport anyhow. You just have to look at what the player is able to do individually as well that makes them great.
And don't worry guys that Rich Paul response video is in the making as we speak.
I was wondering if you were going to cover the recent Rich Paul comments.
Rich Paul needs to lay off whatever he's on..
That 2018 season is VERY deceptive by the way :
- league was in transition
- only one 60 win team : Houston
- neither Conference was particularly competitive
Which makes the whole “KD Superteam” narrative a little suspicious :
- the 2018 Warriors we’re NOT as good as the 2017 team - they took their foot off the pedal, and coasted during the regular season.
- Lebron’s path through the Eastern Conference was at “JV” level, and even though Kyrie had left he still had KLove - 19/11 in the Finals - and a deep bench.
- his EC competition (Cavs were the 4th seed) :
Pacers (Best player : Oladipo)
Raptors (BP : Lowry/DeRozan)
Celtics (BP : 2nd year J. Brown)
FIRST : anyone saying that a PRIME LBJ team, going against THAT field, ISN’T the favourite in every series, is being completely disingenuous.
I can't wait!!!!!

The ONLY possible team that would have a chance with the 90's teams would be the 2013 Spurs due to their fundamentals plus the Heat BARELY beat them in that Finals. Honestly, quitting, not playing for 2-3 years, then coming back and playing again is frankly more impressive to me than someone that just continued to play the whole time.
Whats more IMPRESSIVE to me is MJ won 3 straight championships, lost his father, went an played baseball, came back lost to the Magic with Shaq and Penny...and rededicated himself, knocked the rust off and won 3 more straight and was Finals MVP in every one.
@@BlkDieselyep. People forget people doubted Jordan would ever lead his team to a championship again after the loss to the Magic. So he prepared and repeated the same rare feat of leading a team to 3 consecutive championships for a second. Emphatically answering all those who doubt he could. People now discredit and underrate John Stockton even tho he holds both records for assists and steals-and sure, Karl… but fuck that dead-beat pedo… seriously, two potential NBA phenoms if Stockton and Karl had one or two rings had it not been for MJ.
Magic could’ve won another ring and beat out Bird-cementing himself as the legitimately, undoubtedly better player and would probably be considered the GOAT.

Lebron fans love to say “Jordan played more than 6 years!” Fine, I agree. Jordan is 6-15 for finals wins and Lebron is 4-20. That’s even worse for Lebron. Lebron played longer, has been in his prime longer, and still won less titles when he had more time to win.

LeBron james carried an absolutely horrific 2007 Cleveland Cavaliers team to the nba finals
In the modern NBA era (post 1960) only nine NBA top 75 players have won a championship without another top 75 player as a teammate

LeBron james has won 10 conference championships
Michael Jordan won 6......Only Bill Russell and Sam Jones have more conference championships (In a mostly nine team league) than LeBron James
In the year before Michael Jordan and LeBron James joined their team and the year after they left their team, their records were

2017-18 lakers. 35-47
2018-19 lakers were 20-14 when LeBron James got injured on Christmas day.

Michael Jordan, excluding the 94-97 seasons, when the NBA moved the three point line to 22 feet, was a career 28% three point shooter. LeBron James is a career 34% three point shooter
Michael Jordan was a great defensive player, in an Era where you could handcheck. Playing defense is much easier when you can handcheck. For nearly 6'9 250 LeBron James' entire career he wasn't afforded the opportunity to handcheck.

What these analysts never bring up is the fact Jordan is #1 all-time in many advanced stats and LeBron is #2 in many of them. MJ also has the best gamerscore of all-time(which measures how great a players performance in a single game is)
Also, MJ never faced a team like the Warriors because he was the team like the Warriors.

They focus on anecdotes and not what's on paper. They keep repeating the 6-0 argument which is becoming tiresome. To make this comment short, the difference between MJ and LBJ is a Hall of Fame career.
Not at all. MJ to basketball is like Ali to boxing. MJ transcended the sport and made it global. Until you understand the impact that MJ made on the game globally you will not fully understand why MJ is the GOAT and continue to only focus on stats as the final arbiter to make the decision.

I’ll put Kobe second but I totally agree with the rest.
Don’t forget Lebron got swept twice in the finals.
there’s no comparison. Only delusional Lebron fans try to make the argument..
Actually crazy what Jordan accomplished in 11 years, this is why he’s seen as the goat. Insane peak and prime, all lebron has is longevity.
Let's add, with MJ's team had the best NBA record till GS, won 2x 3 peats, no team has accomplished that yet. Lakers w/1. LJ w/all of his "superteams" hasn't come close to 96 Bulls record and not at least one 3peat.
MJ played on one team. He didn't call for help. LBJ called 911.

They don’t understand that because a lot of bronsexuals started watching ball in 2003
93 MVP Barkley was a straight monster, he would bully todays NBA
Better than the KD warriors ? Genuinely asking , nigga a 99 baby
It's insane how this is even a discussion still. The numbers say it all.
Shannon loves him some LeBron.
This was such a good analysis. Keep it up bro!
(modern rules)
but the Jazz or the Sonics could have beaten the Warriors, too.
KJ was a beast I remember watching him play against the Lakers always been one of my favorite players
6 - 0 means UNDISPUTED , which is extremely complicated to accomplish . And not only is there going to be those that don't want to admit it , there are going to be those that are not going to like it . This is where we are right now .
What about bill Russell
@@brianharron3435 , That's interesting .
6-0 in 15 years is like being 6-0 on Friday the 13th. Dude is 6-9. Getting last place still counts as a lose. U can't say those years didn't count just because u sucked those years
lol that is a bad argument @@Dc-kk9bd
Yep , but that don't change his record 6 - 0 . Micheal in his start in The NBA , didn't have a Consistent supporting cast at all .
why is it when fans argues for lebron it is about excuses and diminishing players which is btw, really disrespectful for players who paved the way for nba of today.
Those who argue for MJ only have to tell his achievements
What is wrong with bron's achievements?
Lebron lost to Jason terry and 90 year old Jason Kidd
And mike beat everyone that was around in his time Shannon bringing up people that wasn’t around for Jordan to beat
Almost had forgotten what an emotional child he agues like..
The team Jordan faced that was close GS was the 86 Celtics. Now it wasn't the finals, but they did have 5 HoF'erms. Bird, McHale, Parish, Walton, Johnson
Jordan and the Bulls NEVER won against that team. Not even once.
The first play of Bron in this video is already a travel 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
LMAO
