when my professor was learning this piece he said he contacted Joe and asked how he phrased and breathed because he was struggling to figure it out, Joe said he doesn't know because he literally changes it every time he plays.
Sometimes my perfect pitch has trouble figuring out what notes Joseph Alessi is playing. His high range is absolutely wonderful and he makes it look so effortless that my brain fails to realize just how high he’s actually playing. 😂 A phenomenal trombonist that I really hope to meet someday.
This piece has been incorporated into my high school’s marching show this year and it’s so interesting to see where our music came from
We also played it this year
Gracias maestro por escucharlo. Bendiciones
I am a trombone player, and i had no idea this was possible !
Congrats Mr.Joseph, hope I'm gona be your student one day !
What's impossible about the piece?
@@ado4224 Very high notes i think E5 at one point
I fell in love with trombons.. srsly!! i love it whenever they play
Overall, Really well done by everyone!
14:03 (to myself)
Yep, The part that represent the god come back to life is definitely the best.
18:03 sounds like these are why I love the trombone
Great performance, and I have to say that the conductor has fine podium technique, too.
Amazing orchestration and great trombonist.
Oh yes! I've been looking for this! I played with the Hudson Valley Honors Youth Wind Ensemble in this concert! First chair trombone!
Beautiful lyrical sections
every note is full of harmony, magnificent
Thank you for the inspiration.
So good!
Awesome...
Super. Bravo Alessi
Great performance and an interesting piece.
Great work! Congratulations! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Two greats
Hi guys I am a trombone beginner so I hope I can be just as good as u or even better though " if I have a chance :
It's been three years. How goes the trombone playing??
So we just ganna ignore the ad in the middle of the video
Adblock, bruh
I just can't get used to audiences that applaud BETWEEN movements. As for Joe Alessi, he's brilliant.
Better to have an audience applauding between movements than no audience!

In the words of the Five Guys reviewer--DAYUM DAYUM DAYUM!!!
How many revisions has this piece gone through? I feel like I've heard it performed 4 different ways - all by Joe Alessi as well!

oh yeah i’ve heard that having perfect pitch makes it difficult to distinguish octaves sometimes
I want this guy to be my teacher
Macy Turner hi
sweet jesus joe.
Something that's funny to me is that during the percussion feature toward the beginning, I mistake the timpani player for a vibing trumpet player.
Fantastic piece, good performance, strange conducting...
One of the stranger pieces for me imo... I like it's suspense though!
6:56 conductor sushes audience haha
Colin Stubbs I know that is funny
You dont clap between movements, so it's a good thing he shushed them
is 8:45 a Rite of Spring quote?
Is it just me, or does it sound from 15:00 a bit like Sandström played by Christian Lindberg?
