i’ve gone digging for sentries on the beach and the deeper you go the bigger than get, but it’s faster if you dig with your hands but you’ve got a dig really fast but you can’t get bigger ones just got a little bit deeper.
The feeding times are Dom's entertainment.

In my experience man, I've never seen them on the beach but I've seen a lot of them in swamps. I've had a lot of them bite me in swamps. Never on a beach though.

Back in Jersey we called them sand crabs & they never ever bite. Don't think their mouths are big enough
THAT’S A SAND FEA?????? Dang, my family always called them sand crabs (don’t ask why, I know it doesn’t make sense)
I love catching them at the beach and putting like 30 in a bucket them letting them free but they’re always super tiny, like the size of my pinky fingernail to the size of a grape
If you go to MCRD Paris Island for any reason and find a sand pit, there's a good chance you get bit by one or more of those
@@Registered_Google_UserYou’re thinking of a different species. Sand fleas are also called mole crabs or sand crabs (but many species are called sand crabs, so it gets confusing) and aren’t true crabs.
It’s not possible for them to bite or pinch humans because they have no pinchers and they’re filter feeders, so their mouth isn’t big enough to bite.
All it has to protect itself is its hard exoskeleton and it’s shape, which lets them roll in the surf.

I caught like 5 sand fleas bare handed once
You say it’s tiny but that’s one of the biggest I’ve seen. I’ve only gone to md beaches tho

Maybe try at night the guy who taught me about these caught a ton while we were trying to catch crabs

In California we call them Sand Crabs
I live on the Gulf coast and what we call Sand Crabs is something totally different.
I think they’re called Ghost Crabs in most places?
They’re mostly terrestrial and look similar to fiddler crabs but without the one massive claw. They’re usually white or just sand colored.
They’re kinda cute.
We don’t call them, Sandlace we call them something else
