Between the Stealth and the E3, which would be your pick for gaming? I'm looking for something that can compete with the sennheiser hd820 for it's spacial capabilities.
Hmm, if it was for only gaming, probably the E3; if it was for gaming and music, then the Stealth.
@@TheSourceAVDesignGroup Thanks for that! I'm heavily leaning towards the Stealth for that reason. It would be a daily driver for me for it's isolation in a somewhat noisy environment. Sennheiser was SOOO close to perfect with the HD820, but I don't want to fiddle with EQ and pad swapping. Thanks again!
Hello Marcello thanks for this video very interesting, can I ask you what differences are there between E3 and the old DCA model with same closed back technology, the ETHER C-Flow, will this earlier model be discontinued? Last but not least, you say this headphone needs enough current to be properly driven, fo mobile use I have Chord Poly with Mojo2, do you guess it’s ok?
The old DCA Ether model is very different, with no AMTS tech, a different build, a different driver, and a different sound. The E3 is a complete evolution in build and sound. 1.5 watts is a safe bet, but probably could me driven fine with around 1 watt; when it comes to Chord products, they generally output good current so it may be ok with the Mojo 2 it was solid with Hugo 2 but Mojo 2 may be ok but it could need more current than the Mojo 2 can output but it's worth a try as if it does that combo would probably be pretty awesome with the built-in tone control the Mojo 2 has.

Given E3's low impedance I'm finding it extra challenging to find a OTL tube amp that can synergize well with E3. Besides WA22, any others that you'd recommend?
I wouldn't use an OTL amp with the E3. OTL amps are for high-impedance headphones primarily. The WA22 isn't an OTL tube amp; check the specs here: thesourceav.com/products/woo-audio-wa22-2nd-gen, but it's a good match for my preferences with the DCA E3 fed by my Chord Hugo TT2. You could also consider this amp for a bit less money than the WA22; WA6se 2nd Gen amp: thesourceav.com/products/woo-audio-wa6-se-2nd-gen which is a SET amp and could produce a synergistic sound depending on your source DAC and of course your preferences. Check the specs on that amp, too; it should cover most impedances. @eddiethom4911

Hi Marcello…I know the driver technology is different, but could you provide a few comments comparing the E3 to the Verite Closed? Also…What’s your personal peference between the two?
Hi Rob I do not have the Verite Closed on hand to make proper comparisons.

There are two hifi audio shops within 3 miles of each other where I live. You have to fly to Chicago or New York for anything bigger. No big deal, you say, right? I'm sure 2 hifi shops within 3 miles of each other, that are totally unrelated to each other and owned by different companies would totally have a varied list of headphones to try out, right?
They have Grados, and.... Grados. Yeah... the only headphones these two hifi shops, that are 3 miles from each other let me remind you again, ONLY CARRY FKIN GRADOS!?
Who the fk even likes Grados? More like Garbagos.
I know that’s the biggest downside for me in this hobby also …I have to rely on reviewers I trust…because up here there’s nothing ( Toronto) unless I make a 2 hr drive and maybe I can find what I’m looking for…as for Grado …I also don’t like them .

Is lcd x 2021 comparable to dca e3?
I haven't compared them directly, but the LCD-X 2021 has an open back, whereas the DCA E3 is a closed back. The XC is the closed-back so that would be a better comparison we did review those headphones on our channel if you want to watch that video.
came here from it being posted on the headfi forum, hot debate going down as you would imagine from this headphone! Shaking it up at this price range big time. The comfort of these at least would probably put these ahead of the closed aideze
