I agree with you. Theres also not enough people willing to choose it as a career because of how unflattering it is. The lack of staff causes the problems. Too much work is being place on the few that are willing to do the job. Most of society turns a blind eye while the elderly suffer because of it
I worked in private nursing homes for 25 years as a qualified nurse. You'd be shocked and dismayed to see what goes on. These places are invariably awful, even the so called nice ones. I always tried to provide a good standard of care, but, between lazy, incompetent managers and staff, and not enough staff full stop, it was so tough. I eventually had a breakdown and left my career.
