For the price? There are a lot of options. I just bought 1000 Mile Boots and Allen Edmonds at the same price. There are Goodyear welted shoes for less. Actually, I bought Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill for under one ninety nine. They have sales and coupons.
I normally wear a 10 1/2 wide but I'm a 10 in Thursdays and Doc Martens. The Thursday website has a questionnaire that can help you get the perfect size. Great video! Would love to see your opinion on other more affordable boot brands. Or maybe something a bit more expensive like Grant Stone.
Thursdays are a Goodyear welted boot made with lower cost materials. Cardboard, foam and poron. They have a marketing schematic with online influencers. Dr. Martens uses a proprietary sole which is welded to the welt with fire. Dr. Martens also uses lower cost materials. Cardboard, foam, felt pads. The retail price is not determined by the cost of manufacturing. You're not paying for what the material is worth, with any shoe.
You really know your stuff about how Thursday and Dr. Martens make their boots! It’s interesting to think about why they choose certain materials and how they price their boots. Do you think the price of these boots is fair, considering what they're made of?
@@Fodaydontplay Fair price? That is whatever they convince you is "fair". Pricing has nothing to do with quality. Cheap leather, poron, foam, synthetic lasting boards...... same level of quality as one hundred dollar mall shoes. Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole, Stacy Adams, Steve Madden, Florsheim...... But the interweb generation believes the advertising, so they pay the asking price.
@@Fodaydontplay As for why they choose certain materials...... cost. They are using lower cost materials to keep manufacturing costs down. They are not selling you the best shoe. For better quality leather, better construction, and a boot that will actually last for decades....... you could look Pacific Northwest boots.
@@chinatownboy7482I love people like this. It's always the outlier that be saying shit like this. However I do agree with things stated by you. Poron insoles not allowing for custom orthotics. The GYW is promoted, for the men's brand. There are only 4 welted boots for the women's brand. Leather quality is great in my opinion. I have a pair of redwing, 5 pairs of thorogoods, and I don't it compares to it though. Doesn't necessarily means that it's bad tho. I think it's great. You did mention PNW boots but keep in mind that those are like 300-700$boots. So of course the material is top notch. With a full leather construction, very well crafted and expertly made via American workers and American leather.
@@myhomiealex6 A lot of us buy what we can afford. If someone wants a Goodyear welted shoe, they are out there for under $200. Just remember that a welt is just one component of the shoe. Ask yourself if you are really going to spend more on rebuilding the shoe, than the shoe is worth. I have Florsheims with Horween Chromexcel & a Goodyear welt. I paid a little over One Hundred dollars. I wonder if I will spend Two Fifty to recraft them.
There's a mexican boot company, aimed at US buyers, that does $150 boots for the same if not better quality, called Urban Wolf Club. But the reason i mention them is because they have sister company called Panther Power Boots whose boots and brand vibe are more DrMartensesque; but with a traditional construction. I've also heard you can message either brand for a custom job.
This is what I heard about, there is a work boot company by the same company as well. But idk what the name is for it. I have seen the Urban wolf club brand, but I want to see how the panther power boots are.

I currently own 4 different Thursday boots and have wide feet, I’d recommend buying the same as your sneaker size if you have wider feet
Okay thanks. Do they stretch into your feet?
@ they have stretched a little bit but I would say less than any of my dr martens or thorogood boots
They look great!
They really do

Boots looked nice, what do you prefer them or the Dr Martens?.
I'll make video on both soon. It depends what you like. Dr Martens for more style and Thursday boots for performance..
Only a handful of models are offered in a wider option.
Okay ill have to look at their website again to find them

Their American. They make most of their products in Mexico, but make as few more expensive boots Inn the US
Man. A guy named Ryan told you that you are the winner of an osmo pocket for commenting on one of his UA-cam videos?
