Whenever I watch Miss Gatti sing in a PMJ video, I feel as if I am looking through a time machine or at some long lost film of some lost amazing singer from the 1940s or 1950s who had been forgotten and rediscovered. Had she been performing just 6 decades ago, she would have been so very famous and still a household name. He aire, her style, her subtle innocence and pain when she sings, mesmerize me. I just listened to the original version of this song and once again, Mr. Bradlee's re-arranged cover is better than the original!

This may be a case of liking whichever version you heard first the best. This is a classic Strokes song and one of their best from this album. This is a great cover but there’s nothing like an original. I encourage you to listen to all of ‘Is This It’, it’s one of my favorite albums of all time

I agree Vampire Weekend is better than The Strokes....(see what I did there?) but The Strokes are definitely not overrated. I just discovered The Strokes during quarantine. That would make me out to be a johnny-come-lately 20 years late to the game....which I am. But they reek what Amy Winehouse had in store for us.
