Lee all I can say is well done, if ever was a big fish was deserved then that was it. After you message I told my disabled 7 year old son Jack about your 30 and we've been watching your videos waiting for the big girl. Last night we watched the video, Jack is registered blind so I describe what is happening. He can see somethings but we just don't know how much. I pushed his specialist chair to the TV and he saw your fish, he got all excited waving his hands. That 30lber not only brought joy to you but joy to my little boy and joy to ne knowing he saw you holding up the big girl. Thank you Lee, you made a little boy very happy. He may never walk , talk or be able to hold a rod unaided but you've made him happy and me proud. All the best Clint
Really hope you keep these pike videos coming now & in future seasons, the pit campaigns are brilliant, proper enjoying them 👍 fingers crossed you bag that 30 mate! Best of luck
Brilliant video mate, really well done, very relatable to see when the going gets tough, getting battered by the elements, stuff freezing solid etc and your determined thought process of where those big fish might be.
Jesus 💪 that was a monumental effort on all levels five days in that cold weather can take its toll even when all the cooking gear in working .are you anti bait boat with all your fishing ? I am 90% of the time but on that pit I would have no problem with using one to fish some Jack livoes out in the deeper water . Love your positive attitude towards your fishing and the drone footage and time lapse are brilliant 👍🎣💪
@@obsessionwithangling thanks mate might see you on the Trent next year me an my mate been fishing A1 stretch and a private stretch by the conveyor belt stretch by collingham had four doubles this year all at night tho biggest 12lb 8oz first year we have fished the Trent we’ve swerved the carp now and just going after the barbel all the best 🎣🎣
Funny I always thought it was fairly easy locating pike, if not always the biggest, because they are invariably where the bait fish are, especially the big girls who must eat to make their eggs at this time. I am guessing they don’t show much there. I spent months stranded in France over winter, sub zero night and day. Godsend for me was pound shop tarpaulins. Meant to cover garden furniture, standard size 4 x 1m, eyelets on corners. I wrapped and pegged these over the bivvy and put the overwrap above them, so there were 4 layers in total. Trapping those air layers made an unbelievable difference to the warmth inside the standard Tracker bivvy. It was like an igloo. The only problem was that I ended up with a mouse nest sandwiched in the layers, it was that warm and dry. I didn’t even know they were there and the main bivy was not damaged by their teeth or pee. But for an extra few quid those thin blue tarps we’re worth their weight in gold. Not carpy is it, but the bivy still presented green inside and out. Could not recommend that multi bivy layering more to massively boost their confort when it’s sub zero and a long session. Much respect all that cold water effort, I could not be motivated enough to do that ever. You deserve your rewards for sure!!
How's it going buddy , just wanted to say I'm currently watching all your pike fishing playlist on UA-cam and there all smashing videos and you show the hardwork it takes time after time putting the hours in on the bank chasing big pike, alot of cracking pike, 🙌👉can't wait for monster quest season 3 🐊🐊🎣🎣 Tight lines for the pike season ahead mate 🐊🐊🎣🎣🤜🤛
Great video - shows all the ups and downs we suffer looking for Esox. Feel your pain with the lost fish - lost one which would have been a PB (not a 20 though - around 17lb-19lb) right at the net when she threw her head and the hooks came out 12" from the net. Broke my heart - but we persevere as (hopefully!) one day it will be our turn.
Take a couple of hot water bottles and put one in the foot area of your bag the 2nd boil that before bed wrap in a towel and place around your shoulders late on👍⭐
Hats off to you buddy for braving those conditions. At least you didn’t blank. That big girl will come soon. Have a great Xmas. I am giving one of my local fenland rivers ago next week. Hoping the pike will show, but not worried if they don’t as will be great to be out on the bank again.
Great content man wouldn’t expect anything other then what happened on your session that’s the way pike fishing goes, it’s either on or it’s not and things go wrong all the time weather it’s something breaking or forgetting to bring an essential bit of kit or worse losing a big girl that’s fishing I enjoyed every minute of it 🙌🏻 Merry Christmas 🎄
I feel you’re pain , I mostly use big lures and jerk baits ! Had a potential PB follow my lure but it wasn’t interested!!! Incredible size and was gutted as it slowly turned back into the depths 🤦♂️
Great content.. Been tough going all over with those conditions I managed a 16lb and two jacks over a five session period.. I was out on the -6 day and never been so cold in all my life while out fishing.. Keep it up 👍
Awesome video again, mate! Your video, story telling and editting skills getting even better by the month. It even gets me a lil emotional knowing, as a pike angler for more than 25years, what kind of hard work and dedication it is to get the mammoth pike on the bank. Keep on going and lots of respect👊🏻👍🏻. Greets and wish you a Merry Christmas🎄 Rick from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Nice one mate. You did well just being there. Three or four nights on the bank, piking in the winter, takes a special kind of angler, to manage it. So 'hat's off to you mate'. And getting anything to take a bait, in such conditions, is nothing short of a minor miracle. Obviously that's jmo. It's good to see 'proper angler's', (that are pretty much just like me) doing pretty much just wot I wud of done. So yeah nice one mate. Cheers. Mick.
Unfortunately that's fishing for you, 💯% for the effort in - conditions. I've just landed my PB yesterday of 22lbs 7 and I was over the moon with excitement. God knows what a 30lbs would do to me. All the best with your future fishing trips and merry Christmas to you and your family 🤝
Your commitment is inspiring, fair play on you. Hopefully there is a cheeky 40 waiting for you in that lake. Keep up the hard work pal because it will pay off. Merry Xmas brother. Tight lines
Did a few trips on there, lots of dropped runs, same 30 came out twice on the opposite bank, once on a lure, other on a dead, other 30 came halfway in the reeds at night, tough place, my conclusion very very low stock
Fair play lee... christ brutal weather think u need a ground sheet and winter skin off father Christmas pal Hahaha not that minus 7 would of helped haha Great vid as per Have a good Xmas mate 👍
