I turned 69 this year and I have to go through shoulder surgery and I can’t travel yet but one of my goals in life is to come out to Maine and see you dear one.l believe this is my all time favorite ♥️💋
Greeting from County Durham in the U.K. Hello Gabrielle, you won’t remember me but I’ve commented on quite a few of your wonderful videos. I just wanted to say how much they have been helping me these past few months. My best friend and wife, Sue, of 55+ years died early in February this year and since, I’ve just not had the heart to paint. However in these past days I have ventured back up the our studios that we shared and I’ve painted a couple of (horrendous) paintings but hey, the results don’t matter… what matters is that I’m back painting and enjoying the process. I hope you don’t mind but I just wanted to give hope to those of your community that may be going through similar situations… give it time, be thankful if you can for all around you, and your craving to paint will return. Thank you again Gabrielle - keep up the good work… I shall now sit and watch this one ☺️
I share that feeling. My husband is in Hospice Care. I'm blessing with wonderful watercolor supplies, yet I don't have the heart to paint. However, I have faith that in time I will find the joy of expressing myself through painting, once again🙏
Hello Joyce, many thanks for your reply. I’m a retired Anglican vicar now but when I was in active ministry, I used to visit my local Hospice once a week. I pray that the Hospice your husband is in, has the same happy and warm atmosphere as the one I visited. I think what helps me is being fortunate in having a thankful nature… perhaps that’s why I’m so drawn to Gabrielle’s channel. It’s taken me five months to really pick up my brush again… be gentle with yourself and please be assured that both you and your husband will be in my thoughts.
Hi Vincent ❤️🤗 Yes, I absolutely do remember you and the beautiful artwork you have shared with me via Instagram. 💕 I am so sorry for your loss.😔 I can imagine your pain and how difficult it can be to pain while grieving. I have found it difficult to paint in moments of grief as well. My heart goes out to you. I'm glad to see you are working through your grief and giving yourself the space to feel what you need to feel when you need to feel it. As you mentioned to Joyce, be gentle with yourself as you are working through your grief and getting back into painting again. Maybe the paintings you are creating at this point in time seem ''horrendous'' to you because they are expressing some of your pain. We don't tend to appreciate and see the beauty pain can carry because it doesn't feel so good. And yet, if it weren't for the polarity of pain, we might not be able to know and appreciate joy and all the wonders that make us thankful too. I feel and have felt your grateful heart in all of our communication. 💕 I appreciate that you made the time to share part of your personal journey with our community of creative souls. It is so helpful to me and to others that you have the courage to share like you have. Thank you for your kindness and compassion. ❤️ And thank you for being the voice of hope today. Another one to add to my list of places to see for sure!! ☺ I've been to some parts of Ontario, North of that area (Killarney Provincial Park and Algonquin Provincial Park then on to Ottawa). This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the way you make your abstracts. Idk if you prefer using a brush to make your dots... if so just skip right over this. But... are you aware of the tools you can get at the craft store that are specifically marketed for use with clay. They are clay sculpting tools, and there is a solid ball on the end, sometimes a different size ball on either end. Multiple sizes available. You can use them to make dots on your paintings. If you look at one of Bettina Fernandez's UA-cam videos, you can see her using it. It just seems like a faster way to make dots on your paper. Again, if the paint brush is your preferred method, don't mind my 2 cents! I really enjoy your channel and have tried several of your projects. 🙂

They are awesome for making dots and it's pretty neat that they come in a variety of sizes. I first learned about them when I was learning about dot mandalas. ☺️ I kind of like to switch things up and just follow my intuition as to what I paint with. To this day, I still enjoy treasure hunting when I walk any beach. During our vacation, I was lucky enough to find a small piece of blue beach glass. Thank you so much for your kind words ♥️ I held off for a while on buying the dotting pen because like you say, it is an investment. I finally decided to go for it when pain in my arm and hand was making it difficult to do stippling. I have not looked back since and I love this pen! ☺️ I use it a lot so for me it’s definitely worth the price 😉
One of my favorites so far! It was so relaxing to watch you paint. I do wonder why my salt results never turn out as spectacular as yours! I have been wanting to paint an abstract seascape so may give this a try!
Hi Ruth ❤️☺️ Thank you so much for your kind words and for being here with me/with us 💕 Salt can be tricky in some ways (maybe it is the salt, maybe it's the paper, maybe it's when the salt is apply to the paint...). I usually get my best results when I work on higher quality paper. I know Arches can be expensive so I also carry a variety of different qualities of paper on hand and I try to switch it up every once in a while to experiment with this. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but apparently paper by a brand called Baohong is less expensive (if you buy it via Temu) and has a similar quality to Arches. I'm kind of on the fence about Temu, but this might be one instance where it is worth buying their product. I'm so happy to see you're feeling inspired to paint your own seascape ☺️ I hope you have lots of fun in the process 🎨🤗

Hi Lori ❤️🤗 Yes, vacation with Garou is definitely better than vacation without him 💕🐶 I really wish I could take him with me everywhere I go! He'll have to be boarded for our next vacation and I'm already dreading it 😔 Thankfully he is well loved where we board him. 🥰 Thank you for bearing the ugly stage of this painting with me ☺️ It really tests my ability to trust that I'll be able to shift things around almost each and every time that stage comes 😳😂 But, isn't it amazing how a few pen marks can make all the difference!? I hope you got some good news. 🙏 It really can be depressing when we are in constant pain. My hands have been hurting so badly, even when just writing. I am sooo thankful that for some reason, they don't hurt when I paint. I pray they never do! Lately I've been painting some abstracts. I love painting leaves! 🌿🍂🍁They are not lifelike at all, but very colorful, which makes me happy! ☺️ I added different color metallic paints over some of them the other night, and I loved the results! 😍☺️ I am also making some cards for my sister, so that she can send some to her friends, when needed. I'm trying to use up some of the hundreds of items I've already created! I think I have a problem! 😉 😂 I know what you mean about leaving Garou behind, when you go on vacation. Like I said before, that was always the hardest part about going anywhere. Now that I can't travel because of my contact allergies, we don't have that problem anymore, I just stay home with Lexi! @@Love2Create62 Hi sweet friend 💕🤗 Thank you so much for thinking of me! The appointment went well and at the same time, we don't have any answers yet. The doctor put me on a short course of steroids to see if the pain would subside and if we could break the cycle of inflammation in my body. It didn't seem to hurt, but I'm not sure it helped either though I will say I did enjoy having a bit more energy again. ☺ So, more tests, some physiatry coming up and we will just keep monitoring things as we go. I am thankful for the health I have and the many healthcare professionals who support me. ❤ I am also very blessed to have loving people in my life who think of me and offer me support. 💕 That includes you Lori 🤗❤ I'm so thankful to see you get a reprieve from pain when you paint 🙏🏿✨💕 There is definitely something magical in the process! Gardening does that for me too somehow (unless I have to lift anything that is). (Please don't mind where I'm going with this one, but I just noticed for the first time that pain plus a t equals paint... 🤯 Maybe painting is like a soothing tea for you. 💕) I can imagine it must be hard managing contact allergies 😔 I am sorry you have to deal with this and pain every day ❤ Thanks for sharing what you're up to creatively!! I love painting leaves too! Not realistic ones, but ones that are kind of ethereal and shimmery (of course 😂). Making cards reminds me I want to get in card making mode too! This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the way you make your abstracts. Idk if you prefer using a brush to make your dots... if so just skip right over this. But... are you aware of the tools you can get at the craft store that are specifically marketed for use with clay. They are clay sculpting tools, and there is a solid ball on the end, sometimes a different size ball on either end. Multiple sizes available. You can use them to make dots on your paintings. If you look at one of Bettina Fernandez's UA-cam videos, you can see her using it. It just seems like a faster way to make dots on your paper. Again, if the paint brush is your preferred method, don't mind my 2 cents! I really enjoy your channel and have tried several of your projects. 🙂

They are awesome for making dots and it's pretty neat that they come in a variety of sizes. I first learned about them when I was learning about dot mandalas. ☺️ I kind of like to switch things up and just follow my intuition as to what I paint with. You are such a joy. I am so thrilled you had a relaxing fantastic vacation !Your pictures remind me of childhood vacations at Lake Superior in Minnesota. Blue water,rocks driftwood and sheer happiness because of all the treasures that lay at my feet. I love deer and daisies birds and bugs. Thank you so very much 🌼for adding a brightness to my world. I turned 69 this year and I have to go through shoulder surgery and I can’t travel yet but one of my goals in life is to come out to Maine and see you dear one.

To this day, I still enjoy treasure hunting when I walk any beach. During our vacation, I was lucky enough to find a small piece of blue beach glass. Thank you so much for your kind words ♥️ I held off for a while on buying the dotting pen because like you say, it is an investment. I finally decided to go for it when pain in my arm and hand was making it difficult to do stippling. I have not looked back since and I love this pen! ☺️ I use it a lot so for me it’s definitely worth the price 😉
One of my favorites so far! It was so relaxing to watch you paint. I do wonder why my salt results never turn out as spectacular as yours! I have been wanting to paint an abstract seascape so may give this a try!
Hi Ruth ❤️☺️ Thank you so much for your kind words and for being here with me/with us 💕 Salt can be tricky in some ways (maybe it is the salt, maybe it's the paper, maybe it's when the salt is apply to the paint...). I usually get my best results when I work on higher quality paper. I know Arches can be expensive so I also carry a variety of different qualities of paper on hand and I try to switch it up every once in a while to experiment with this. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but apparently paper by a brand called Baohong is less expensive (if you buy it via Temu) and has a similar quality to Arches. I'm kind of on the fence about Temu, but this might be one instance where it is worth buying their product. I'm so happy to see you're feeling inspired to paint your own seascape ☺️ I hope you have lots of fun in the process 🎨🤗

Yes, vacation with Garou is definitely better than vacation without him 💕🐶 I really wish I could take him with me everywhere I go! He'll have to be boarded for our next vacation and I'm already dreading it 😔 Thankfully he is well loved where we board him. 🥰

I hope you got some good news. 🙏 It really can be depressing when we are in constant pain. My hands have been hurting so badly, even when just writing. I am sooo thankful that for some reason, they don't hurt when I paint. I pray they never do! Lately I've been painting some abstracts. I love painting leaves! 🌿🍂🍁They are not lifelike at all, but very colorful, which makes me happy! ☺️ I added different color metallic paints over some of them the other night, and I loved the results! 😍☺️ I am also making some cards for my sister, so that she can send some to her friends, when needed. I'm trying to use up some of the hundreds of items I've already created! I think I have a problem! 😉 😂
I know what you mean about leaving Garou behind, when you go on vacation. Like I said before, that was always the hardest part about going anywhere. Now that I can't travel because of my contact allergies, we don't have that problem anymore, I just stay home with Lexi! Time to go comment on your gorgeous painting from last week! 😍🤗❤️
@@Love2Create62 Hi sweet friend 💕🤗 Thank you so much for thinking of me! The appointment went well and at the same time, we don't have any answers yet. The doctor put me on a short course of steroids to see if the pain would subside and if we could break the cycle of inflammation in my body. It didn't seem to hurt, but I'm not sure it helped either though I will say I did enjoy having a bit more energy again. ☺ So, more tests, some physiatry coming up and we will just keep monitoring things as we go. I am thankful for the health I have and the many healthcare professionals who support me. ❤ I am also very blessed to have loving people in my life who think of me and offer me support. 💕 That includes you Lori 🤗❤

Gardening does that for me too somehow (unless I have to lift anything that is).
