I had my 2nd liver transplant in 2018. Waiting on the list is like a roller coaster. Deciding to donate your loved one’s organs and tissues can save over 8 lives and greatly improve the lives of more than 75 people. Just from one single donor. This even includes giving sight to the blind. There is no cost to the donor family, their loved one is treated with dignity and respect during the process and it in no way affects the funerary process, even still allowing for an open casket service. There are more than 100,000 people waiting for an organ in the US. I can’t imagine a more positive mark to leave on this world than to give so many people a second chance at life. You can’t take anything with you when you die, so why not leave this world giving the most you can.
Many people don’t realize that they can be living donors for liver recipients. Livers regenerate and grows back to normal size after a few weeks. If more people knew this I think more people would donate. I’m glad you were able to get a transplant. My husband is going to need a heart transplant and because of the supply vs demand, it’s tough getting on the list. Thankfully he’s relatively young, healthy (besides the heart), with no lifestyle risk factors so hopefully he’ll be a good candidate
You all are hero’s, I also was on the kidney transplant list but found out I can’t have a transplant because my veins in my legs a calcified on the outside, your a blessing and I just keep being on dialysis
We need more stories like this. I reckon we should put one of these stories on the end of every news bulletins. There’s way too much bad stuff going on these days.
I am extremely grateful for the people who choose to be organ donors. My brother's life was saved this past March when he received a kidney transplant.
The UK enacted a “opt out” law in 2021. The law makes everyone a donor upon their death and they have to opt out with the government if they don’t want to donate. Additionally families can opt out for their deceased relative if they don’t want to have the persons organs donated. We need something similar in the US. My spouse needs a heart and it’s frustrating that the list is so long
It's a discussion they must have at the table with their relatives so they don't veto it. My family was sick of me saying, "I want to be an organ donor every Thanksgiving." It's uncomfortable but you have to put it out there. When one of my dearest friends died a relative spoke about how her organ donations helped 50 people. There was a large gasp from the crowd. Do it. Tell your family. And keep reminding them.
@@vitalucas9452 Don’t know. Should be up to the individual to decide if they are over 18. We just check a box on our drivers license. If it’s a minor child who passes which is horrific it’s up to the parents.
Currently my unborn baby has something on the kidney. They are hoping it goes away in two months. I will gladly donate my kidney to my baby if I have to.
sad story, a friend of mine has kidney failure and only has a few months to live, i offered a kidney but the problem is that his family can not (does not want) to support him financially. and i can't give my friend a second chance on life
This story is nothing short of a miracle! They gave my grandson , Cooper, a second chance at life!
have you done your organ donation as a thanks for your grandson?
@@Nemenvagyokna Not everyone is healthy enough to do it.
I am So HAPPY for you and your family! I hope Cooper has a wonderful, long life!
That baby photo of Cooper, what an adorable little muffin! I hope he's recovering well.
@@Nemenvagyoknashe said grandson, so she’s likely at a point in her age where her kidneys wouldn’t be the best option

I donate 3 months ago at Uw hospital! Best decision I’ve ever made!!!! I hope my friends mom gets her kidney soon
To be able to save the life of a child... What a amazing feeling to give that family What a blessing you both are!
I'm 😭, you're 😭, we're all 😭
Thank you. I am a liver recipient. And if it wasn’t for people like you, I wouldn’t be here today. The sad part is, we do not know who our donors are.
I'm glad you're here.
Most precious gift you can give someone is more time ❤️
God bless this couple. Truly heroes with giving the gift of life. How could you say no to that? Beautiful. ❤
Crying what a random act of kindness 2 times.

What incredible human beings.
What a beautiful story. God bless them all.❤❤❤
This is the episode that inspired me. I researched kidney donation that day and I donated my kidney on February 15.
Wow what an angel. I received a kidney March 12th. Thank you for being an angel
What a great story from 11 days ago and it was awesome!
I received my heart 9/6/22. Would love to share my story.
I got a kidney 3-12-24 I would love to share
Beautiful story, God sent indeed! Blessings!❤
I lived in Shreveport/Bossier for 8 years and the man who recieved the kidney was a regular at Cane River Brewing Co. ❤

I used to be an organ donor, but after you pass a certain age they just are not any good anymore. They wear out like car parts. 😳
@absatwell8163 My friend was in her early 50s when she passed. I wonder what age they determine your parts worn out.

@@vitalucas9452they don’t govern kidneys to people past 70 or 75 but I’d say it’s around that
Wow, redemptive healing. 😊😊😊
beautiful story
What an angel☺️💭❤
Big huge to your beautiful family ❤❤❤❤❤
This was wonderful! I only wish they’d gotten the people who got the actual kidneys this family donated too..
I gave my kidney to a stranger 10 years ago. Sadly they never wanted to meet me so I don't know the outcome.
You are an angel don’t worry about them. I got one 2 months ago today
MashAllah may he be rewarded with all the blessings he desverve ❤
Omg what beautiful people ♥️
I know how this recipient feels because I am in that same stage of disbelief that a total stranger is donating their kidney to me
Wonderful story, wonderful people!😊
Usually I hate this tv show but this is good.

Why do the exchange like they did
Angels send from god.

The lady who donated a kidney barely got a glance from Cooper's mom.
Not true.
Really 🙄
They hugged. She was looking at her baby who is still alive!
I think she was just too overwhelmed. I didn’t see it as a lack of caring.
Very bad idea. You should never donate organs because it's detrimental to your own health.
No it’s not. Where did you get your doctor degree at?
