So, is Throne and Liberty worth playing, to those of you who have invested tons and tons of hours into the game? What do you all think? Hopefully this little adventure into the game did it justice, but that's for you all to decide. Checking out Warhammer: Return of Reckoning next on this MMO adventure! Also, if you thought the shirt I was wearing looked cool, you can check it out here: tinyurl.com/ya4498xp
As a pvp main I’m loving it.. there are some bad things like the lake of abyss tokens for open world dungeons and p2w but if you understand how to make money f2p isn’t bad at all
Super excited to see your experience with Return of Reckoning! I played the original as a kid and just recently started on the server! But regardless, this was an excellent video!
I actually don't agree to the pay2win thing (so far maybe?). I progress very well and the few times, where I was clearly too weak for an area, I just came back to that 5-6 hours later with better stats and equipment I found or leveled somewhere else.. I joined a guild and do stuff with them, but mostly I roam around by myself and enjoy being an adventurer. I did not think, it could catch me so good. So in the end, it is a good game and it is free. There are other games of this kind, which seem to be better, but they cost more money for sure. My personal critic would be, that there are those events, where you have to wait for 3 hours (or longer, if you have to work, etc., off course) and sometimes it is not so clear, what you are supposed to do and you fail because of that and have to do it again, to finally clear that area. Like waiting 24 hours to collect 3 stupid seeds or sth. that is kind of annoying. But overall it is great.
2 things. I have 60 hours in T&L and the boosters you saw in the cash shop can only be purchased with a currency earned in the game by finding lore books. Second the little stuffed animal serves a purpose to later go on expeditions for you to gather materials. It also gathers loot so you don’t have to run and pick it up. There are two character boosting battle passes. Both are 10$ each.
@@Akaniyama buying wow tokens or raw gold then using that to pay for raid or mythic plus carries its literally wows most common form of p2w. I found out about people buying gold in legion, checked back recently and its still going on. Can get deals on multiple runs to 😂. But but but Wow has no p2w
Will say this: three hours isn't really enough. Start was soooo slow, but as I start filling out the purple gear and more weapon mastery skills, it's gotten very much smoother and combat becomes more satisfying. It's not tops, but it's a fun game. Just cannot even stand to even think about WoW at this point.
Yea Throne is about as pay 2 win as WoW is. You don't have to swipe you can play the game make currency and buy premium battle pass, cosmetics etc. Just like WoW. So think it's unfair to say it's pay 2 win as a negative since it's as pay 2 win as WoW.
@@WhatIfTheories it really isn't wow auction house isn't locked behind a premium currency also you can't really buy bis gear off the auction house as well as even know you can sell wow tokens in wow for gold it's alot easier to obtain gold in wow then the premium currency in TnL you get gold for doing anything single thing in wow while the premium currency is locked behind either paying with real money or selling items that are highly requested and hard to farm or get
@@Akaniyama The premium currency is obtainable in game very easily so no it's not locked. I have 3k lucent at the moment and it's an equivalent to 40+€ if I would have pay. 3 weeks of game, full F2P
It really isn't, it exposed how lazy this content creator was - he came into the game to make content not play it. Especially for a game like TnL that's clearly designed to be complicated - in a way that you need to learn and discover stuff through playing the game - which is an amazing thing imo, it gives a sense of achievement. It's like a hands off way of letting the players go through the came. They could've made an in depth tutorial on the best way to upgrade and go through stuff, which could be fast and Nixxiom might have had an actual idea about the game lol - but they didn't, as it clearly is designed this way. The systems are simple, it's just not the same regurgitated crap systems that people are used to.
It should be noted that lucent (the premium currency) is obtainable (without spending real $$$) via selling trait extracts, lithographs and items on the auction house since it only costs sollant (gold) to list them on the auction house.
Played it 80 hours put in 20 dollars for level pass and battle pass, well worth it. Very fun. Most games in my Steam are sub 5 hours and i paid well above 20 dollars for those. Also if you played abit longer i got 2 items in dungeons that i "trait extracted" or in WoW terms "crafted an enchant velum by disenchanting the item onto the velum" sold it on AH and got around 450 lucent and another item i got 630 lucent for. So i already have made more money than i put into the game which is really nice. Bunch of smaller traits sold too, but it is a nice aspect to the game the way it is implemented, gives everybody a chance that grinds to hit it big on some item.
@@gamingwithsinchan1684 i did not know that at the time and I also made money/lucent. Spending hours on a game does not equal free. Besides 20 dollars is nothing.
No disrespect intended, but I think this video highlights how little playtime Nixxiom had in the game. For context, the p2w is not really in the shop, it's in the auction house. You purchase gear and traits using a currency you can purchase for real money. Nixxiom won't have seen this though in fairness as it doesn't unlock until lvl 40. IMO this is exactly the same p2w as WoW, as you can buy gear with gold and can purchase gold with real money. I think people are jumping on the band wagon a bit as it's an eastern mmo.
I would have to agree with this comment here, his video highlights the lack of knowledge from playing the game. You'll need more than 3 hours. Not to mention you can farm items that you can sell for premium currency
@@sct77 You can buy a wow token which you can use to gain gold and then use that gold to obtain power in some form. Yeah you cant buy mythic gear but you can certainly spend real money to boost a character in power to obtain better gear easier.
Honestly, tired of hearing the pay to win argument by people who barely played the game and have no idea. You can literally sell the items you farm on auction house for the same currency you get with your dollar. So you can play the game and earn currency by playing the game to purchase skins or battle passes. Which means you can be 100% free to play and you have access to the exact same stuff as the people who spend money. Another thing, why would you rather pay $70 up front when all these companies take your money and put our trash games. I'll take the free game any day and if I like it I'll happily purchase $60 of whatever to support the dev team.
I think people are just predispositioned that when they see something like a level boost in a eastern MMO it must be p2w. As far as paying up front I think wanting that is a left over relic from when we could trust devs. Unfortunately nearly every MMO has some p2w aspects these days so I personally don't think f2p is any worse of a model.
Oh yay you can farm to barely make enough to get one thing or so off the auction house mean while some guy drops 100$ has 10x better gear then you bought the best shit off the auction house leave the scraps you get 100 f2p players vs 100 pay to win players the paying players win every time either it be pve or PvP even more so since this game Focus is more on PvP you can literally watch streamers like shroud that bought every thing he got 1v5 f2p players 😂 pull the stick out of your ass bro and remove your rose coloured glasses
@@Akaniyama devs have to eat you stupid kid if the game was bad it wouldnt be so much people talking good about it game is pay 2 win so as life deal with it ps. i am free to play and already farmed 1k dollars on the shop currency so i dont mind this at all being p2w cause people are literally paying for me to play
@@AkaniyamaYou honestly have no idea do you? You are just going by what you have heard and didn't actually play it. F2p is absolutely achievable in this game once you learn how to sell in the AH.
People are just using this to fill a void in their heart for a real mmo without pay for power. Not a fan of the korean mmo vibe find it to not be very immersive feels like im playing somwthing on rails.
While I won't deny there is p2w in the game, it really only speeds up progression by a bit, I am fully f2p and fully geared, and saving lucent from things I am selling for when t2 drops. Only thing I have actually spent some money on was buying lucent for cosmetics. None of the lucent I actually bought went towards gear. Do have an alt though I run dungeons on for more drops to sell. I also did not buy early access. So while there is def p2w in the game as far as speeding up progression goes, as long as you are efficient with things, it's honestly not very difficult to gear as f2p.
There is a gear cap most people that have played from early access have already received it… it’s now about epic 300-400 player fights at bosses every night. Not even for the loot but for bragging rights. Then you loose the next night. The massive mmo pvp is unlike anything I’ve seen in a mmo. Maybe early days of wow is the only thing that comes close to the sheer number of players clashing.
Felt like a filler video. A review for a game in which you only reached level 12. Imagine if someone had written a review for WoW after getting to level 12.
WoW is just as pay 2 win as Throne. So when you say pay 2 win I think we should be fair in the comparison. In Throne and Liberty I've sold items that I've farmed and made Lucent and then bought the premium battle pass. I've been able to attain the store cosmetics by playing the game. Just like in WoW when I log into TWW I can farm and buy a WoW token and pay for my sub. In WoW you can buy a level boost, gold, in game GDKP you name it and that is after buying the game. Is Throne pay 2 win? Sure but every MMO is today so how much of a pay 2 win matters. You don't have to swipe. It's actually really nice you can just play the game and actually get all the cool toys just like WoW all while being free 2 play. Hope this helps because I think it's unfair to paint games as pay 2 win since it's such a broad brush. It's very similar to WoW and think Throne has a very bright future if they keep adding amazing content. WoW and Throne are my 2 MMO's.
I gave it a chance today as well, I went in VERY skeptical because 1: it's made by NCSoft and usually they are outrageously pay to win 2: that this MMO has been rebuilt from the ground up *multiple times* so I went in thinking it would be extremely buggy. HOWEVER this game is probably the least pay to win MMO they have made, its surprisingly actually playable without spending a single dollar. I found the combat kind of clunky, but other than just that I had fun with exploration and learning the different mechanics. I also have yet to encounter a ground breaking bug. 7/10 it's free so I'd say give it a go if your bored and not super focused on any other MMOs right now.
The time he spent editing this video is probably longer than the time he spent actually trying to play the game. Bro probably didn't even read the letter the amitoi left you behind.
He literally got past the tutorial and was like OK. I know this game well and I’m ready to make my official review even though I don’t know how any of the systems work and I have no idea what I’m talking about fully, but I’ll just wing it. I’m sorry, but this was frustrating. I like this guy but to play a game for three hours and give such bold statements is crazy.
You have to hit lvl 50 and do few dungeons and world bosses and abys to trully have an opinion about this game. The game is pay to win in a sence that it has real money auction house but free to play players can make money selling items , it really isnt that bad. I dont mind it ,its like wow or Lineage 2 back in the day when people whispered you to send you money fornyiu to trade them an item. Game has too many good stuff i think most ppl wont mind the auction bcs of those , you can really play it to the fullest as freetoplay.
The big flying Whale is called "The Divine Beast" or short Giganrite. You can actually take a ride on it to mine rare ores. The Amitoi is a total style breaker, I agree on that. They are essentially there to provide a small heal, gather your loot and you can send "troops" of Amitoi on Expeditions to gather materials for you. "Lore Wise" they are explained as simple animated Toys. But I get why people are not liking them, they are a total style breaker, but there are also other Amitois you can choose (like skins). Edit: There is also no Level-Booster in the game. What you discovered was the Level-Pass. A similar system as the Battlepass where you just get some rewards during the leveling phase. For pay to win you don't look in the store but in the auction house which uses the premium currency. You can buy weapons directly with premium currency there. But the premium currency goes to a player that earned the weapon (minus 20% transaction fee) and the price is determined by the actual demand. The upgrade tokens within the shop are bought with a currency you earn by playing the game. Also you often get the currency after server maintenance.
Kanon does a great vid about the pay to win aspect. You can play the game as a f2p as still pretty much get to the top level, just takes a bit longer. Even if you whale out, you are still vulnerable to someone who is playing a diff stye. Worth a watch. I have nothing against a free to play game having a shop. I do not mind battle passes in these games. I pay $10 in a game I got for free ok, so now its a $10 game. I may be a lone in this thought, but since T&L doesnt shove the shop down your throat, I am ok here. I mean, I log in, see the new offers, i close that window, and go about my business. Will say the end content i have done has been challenging and fun so far.
It is fascinating how different the design and monetization philosophies are for FFXIV considering it is also an "eastern mmo". Of course they have taken a lot of inspiration from WoW but considering that Square Enix is infamous for their gacha p2w mobile games it is kind of a miracle that FFXIV is using the "better" business model even today.
better? lmao u having to pay every month to play a game is better them a free 2 play game? people just redact talking shit cause they think they opnion is right even when its clearly wrong never played wow official cause u have to pay to play and i think this is stupid what ever
Nixxiom, hey, this game is not pay-to-win, exclusively, as you can break down gear that you get from drops that you either don't need to bump up your own gear or don't want and sell those extracted traits or high quality's on the auction house for the in-game real money currency called lucent. All those words to say, it may take a bit longer but can earn the real money equivalent in game and have access to all the cosmetics and helper items without swiping your card. I really like this feature in the game. So, I would say this is a play to win game. I have earned almost $150 of real money equivalent (about 9,000 lucent) to spend in the cash shop by getting lucky with drops and good traits to break down to sell, and the game is only a few weeks old. I hope you give this game another try, at least to current level cap, dungeons are mechanics heavy, but hella fun once you get the hang of it.
There is a clear and definitive benefit to spending money on this game to have better stats and a better character. You can as a free to play player achieve those same levels but you will just have to spend more time. It's just like any game. Even Grand theft Auto. I can spend hours earning millions to buy that upgrade I need or I could just get a part-time job. Spend the 15 bucks spend an hour at work and make that. That does not make you a better player but it can make up for a lot. You can look at any game with monetary transactions. I don't care what it is if you pay $60 for the base game and buy expansions that cost money or if it's a subscription or whatever most games cost money whether they say it's free or not. Fortnite skins cost 20 bucks for an in-game skin, that's a real life outfit. There are people who are spending money on this game and still get s*** on because they just suck. You can play as a free-to-play player and compete.
being a super casual gamer (33 dad of a newborn) Ive made enough lucent to buy both the lvling pack and battle pass with less than 2 hours a day since release. Are there people who drop thousands to get the best gear immediately, yes, do you need to, no. Its a KMMORPG and it requires a bit more grind than western equivalents. For a Free to play model i dont think they could have done a better job.
there is no point to play endgame of this game without paying tbh, the level 50 experience is very good, even some open dungeons ect, but for those free to play players who try to grind the game, its just pointless
OK, so I mean no disrespect to you. I watch a lot of your videos but I’ve been playing this game for over 100 hours. You do not have a grasp on the cash shop as you’re just a few minutes into playing first of all lucent is the paid currency in the game and I am completely free to play and at the end at level 50 you can use the auction house to sell gear and traits to get lucent and I got $40 worth of lucent without spending a dime also furthermore the tokens used to buy the books and everything in the shop Everybody gets those coins for free every server maintenance time and it is given to everyone, so therefore it is not pay to win I recommend that you go back and play the game longer before making this opinion that you came up with because you did not play the game long Enough to understand or give the review that you gave. Just to recap lucent can only buy you gear and things from the auction house which you can earn completely free to play and the other currency every month everyone gets it for server maintenance and other activities and it allows you to buy a certain amount of skill books, which in no way cost money it’s apart of the core game. Sorry to add to this the coins that you get every month for maintenance which buy all the boost books and everything that you saw which you need and everybody gets are called ornate coins they are not paid. Somebody can get paying to win is getting a whole set of purple instead of grinding for it for like $1000 and like I said you can get the paid currency Lucent in the game by using the auction house at no cost to you. I’m honestly a little bit disappointed in you that you think playing an MMO for 20 to 30 minutes, gives you an understanding enough to make all these claims and thoughts please play the game for real then come back and give a review
Facts. I haven't watched this guy ever but this was so lazy. He came into the game to cash in and make content, not actually play it. It's actually disgusting.
The pink coins in the shop with which you buy the materials are earned ingame by everyone equally, they are not a p2w element at all. UA-camrs will play a game for a couple of hours and pass judgement. You have no understanding of the systems you are critiquing, they are way more complex than the average mmo. The p2w is only really present in the lategame when players can buy lategame items from eachother (mostly from the top guilds). At that point it's pretty much as p2w as wow, let's not make a surprised pikachu face about mythic boosts
I mean you can spend money and lvl up gear faster then everyone else.. but then getting a good drop as a f2p player can change everything sooooo ... I love it
The true pay to win part is the action house. crafted gear can be sold there for the real money currency. This is unlocked at level 40. Though this also allows you to earn the currency by selling gear to whales. Which is nice at times since if you wish to buy cosmetics or the battle pass it gives you a way to earn the currency without paying real life money for it. So in a way the community is what enables this game to be pay to win. Also guilds pay a huge part of this game. Which can lead to a bit of toxic nature. Its a mmo though. We all had a toxic guild leader telling everyone what to play from time to time. This is only made worse by guilds being capped at 70 people.
This might be the best mmo I’ve played in a long time and I’d rather have the in game currency rather than a subscription. Right now you would have to spend thousands of real dollars to buy some weapons
200hrs in T&L now the combat is a little clunky been play with a small guild of 40 people its been a good time. Pvp is ok if you aren't getting zerged down, small scale is fun if you have the right comp. Most important take away KNOW YOUR BUILD BEFORE YOU START
I agree about the doll. It seems like it doesn’t belong. Kind of reminds me of Black Desert, but they use a shadow/ghost thing which seems more appropriate. If I wasn’t so knee deep in New World, I’d keep playing Throne, it’s not that bad.
3 Hours is not enough time to test this game. I almost turned the video off there lol. You really need to go back. You didn't even unlock skill trees. That's like playing WoW and quitting before lvl 10. It took me about 20 hours to really love it and I think you have misunderstood that levelling "boost"...there are no boosts in the way you described.
You should probably play for more than 45 minutes before reviewing an MMO. Level 14 isn't even an hour of play. You can hit 50 in less than 8 hours easily.
“Can” is different than reading the text, exploring, playing the game rather than speed running. And most devs would be lucky if someone played their game for an hour. Nowadays you start a game and you decide if you want to keep playing it 20 minutes in. The first time I downloaded this game I uninstalled it 15 mins in. Came back gave it another shot, got to the title, never touched it again.
@@NixxiomOnUA-cam As someone who PLAYS mmo's, why would you EVER think 3 hours is enough to form an opinion on an MMO? You just wanted to pump this out for UA-cam views because TL is hot right now. Real lazy brother, I would take the video down or revise it. This is just disingenuous to your entire fanbase and anyone who might stumble upon your video
@@Sangcreux Nope. If a video game can't impress you after 3 hours, even if it's an mmo, it's garbage. It's like telling someone that they have to read 3/4 of a book before they can form an opinion on it. If the first few chapters aren't gripping or compelling, you stop reading and wasting your time.
@@NixxiomOnUA-cam So you're saying a game that is designed to be played for hundreds or thousands of hours, is garbage because it didnt hook you after the tutorial? I want to be clear, you're saying ITS GARBAGE. Brother. You can't form an opinion on it, you didn't come close to a "1/4th" book analogy. You read the first couple sentences and gave up. If you don't like it, thats fine, but you are COVERING the game and uploading a review lmao. You don't have the ground to stand on to have an opinion strong enough to REVIEW something after the tutorial. You think everyone else here in the comments is wrong and you're right here? Because why? If youre gonna stand on this ground then I'd put "my review after 3 hours of playing throne and liberty". 3 hours isn't "giving it a chance".
I must say I really like T&L as an MMO and was honestly surprised about no loading screens and quantity over quality approach to questing at least in first zones. I am still newbie but having 5 quests in the zone which are interesting like transforming as a sheep to avoid wolves and activate shrines or transform into mouse and follow cat because villagers find those cats odd (turns out they were morphed villains) was cool concept. Also having narrator in your story who was writing journal for you reminded me of Witcher 3 where Dandelion wrote Geralts stories in journal. Combat is kinda meh its clunky and having action-tab target hybrid makes the game worse than better especially with such rigid targeting system. You can be close to enemy like 5 meters before you can shoot double crossbows and you have perfectly face and enemy and have him targeted in action mode which defeats the purpose of action combat mode because its tab target with reticle. Morphs are cool concept on mount system but they certainly need a buff. Dash is good I like transforming into wolf or any other movement animal but Flying Morph is awful to control its just its glider with sticky basic controls and ton of motion blur. If they refine it and smooth out grapling it could have some nice challenges in the game and add joy of movement like GW2 has with its mounts and glider. Overall I would give T&L so far solid 7/10 as a new MMO. It has well thought out world with cool cutscenes and class design, graphics, story, worldbuilding and optimization but it lacks polish in combat and movement and I think it will have eastern MMO frustrating endgame (combining armors into +1 till +9 or some other shit with insanely low drop rate). But from what I have seen its great game with good questing, events and a lot of potential which is nice alternative instead of playing 4 gigants in industry (WoW, FF14,GW2,ESO) and its not as confusing and grindy and overcomplicated as BDO.
Cute is normal for ppl who are used to asian mmo NCsoft were good with things about cute at one time in Lineage 2 , but yeah they include alot more random cuteness in time. Its just asian mmo thing.
So far I have 180 hours into the game, not paid a penny, sold a drop I got from a mob on the auction house to get the battle pass. Have all the shiny battle pass skins, have done all the CO-OP Dungeons at lvl 50, and even done some guild boss raids with a batch of guildies. The grind is quite large, but since you are limited you can do a dungeon run, bit of event for guild rep and logg off for the day.
Throne and Liberty is a game that doest so many thing bad, like, literally almost everything is done wrong right from the get go, that makes it hard to play for more than half an hour for the benefit of the doubt
It’s unfortunate a free game is getting criticized for monetization. It is pay to win for a brand new character but if you reach end game you’d see that there is a limit to how powerful you can become and a free to play player can achieve it granted with more time and effort. However, the experience you missed out on is the daily epic multi guild alliance battles where entire servers battle each other and usually have a common villain in the top guild alliance. Trying to bring them down through tactics, inter guild politics and much more. It’s crazy and your enemy can be your ally a week later all while building communities of core friends and thousands of real discord guilds and making new friends. It’s the closest feeling I’ve gotten to a true massive community since end game classic wow 40 man raids. But I’m talking 200 active people online on discord at once every night in epic battles getting better and better. That’s where it shines. You can’t pay to win that, you need to build the human element which is the most important and which is free. Basically what I’m saying is if you’re a millionaire and bought all the gear on AH you’d get owned by a ftp player that played in a Korean guild that knows what they are doing. This is a PvP MMO first. With pve elements (that are good) to get stronger for large scale pvp.
@@Flyntas for sure p2w but point is relationships and skill quickly become more important than gear. Also, you can make lucent, I make 100s$ worth of lucent from drops, traits and cooking per week. So a f2p player with a trader brain can also play or just sell on the AH and have the same advantage as a p2w player including skins. Or you win the lotto on a rare world boss drop with good trait, and you can make 300$-500$ worth of lucent instantly. So Its very dependent on the smarts and abilities, and yeah some luck, even financial savvy of each person.
This is the best take so far. I played 70 hours and had the exact same opinion when I decided to put it to rest. I had a ton of fun with the pve and it was very smooth and a cool world. But for all the reasons you listed I just can’t spend my time in this game.
It is in my shallow opinion in this matter interesting and important game. I love the graphics and kinda the level of preparation of systems and UI about the world itself. Game feels prepared to be played. What I also love is the "everybody everything" kinda almost approach. It has but two major cons: it lacka of personality (which I find subjective), and its too spreaded and overfilled with stuff I am not interested in. Third point under the line is more IF, I hope the in game shope is not P2W.
The saddest part of this video is 3k+ ppl have lost braincells watching it. Im no TL supporter but man 2 hours in an mmo ? "you know nothing john snow"
I don't begrudge people looking at free to play games and saying it is pay to win garbage. In the early 2000's I couldn't afford $15 a month to play WoW so I played FTP MMO's. but to say that you would rather pay to play WoW because it isn't pay to win and doesn't have boosting is disingenuous. Boost your character for $60, WoW tokens gets you gold that gets you gear. I get saying you hate Pay to Win then you have to hate World of Warcraft cause I could dump a ton of money into it and have the BiS gear in a day.
Exactly why I quit FF14. Boosting pay to win story skipping garbage game AND 15 a month, and $10 to change the look of your character 😂😂 You even gotta pay extra monthly fees for extra retainers/bank space 😂
@@vabbi_1 @nixxiomonyoutube also the P2W things you pointed to were in game currency that you get for playing the game and not what makes it pay to win to begin with. The auction house currency can be bought for real money so you can get things for real money, but that currency is then given to the players grinding to get those items. I have made over 5,000 from sales of items on auction house which equates to $100 to the whales giving me their money. so I can get the stuff I need. as Pay to Win goes it is actually less than World of Warcraft.
I have around 80 hours in the game so far (F2P) and I have been really enjoying it. The only big negative thing for me is some of the combat controls. Targeting is ass coming from someone who has played GW2 and WoW since launch, the combat itself is fun and I enjoy the dungeons but we will see if they can/will do something about the wonky controls. I agree the amitoi is a stylebreaker and very Eastern MMO and that plus some things about the story makes the game feel a bit shallow to me. The world looks beautiful and feels big and like an actual world tho but I still don't find it super immersive. I'm gonna continue playing and see where this game goes as so far I'm still having fun.
This game isn't as pay to win as most people think, most of the stuff in the shop that gives an advantage is bought with ornate coins, which are not a paid currency. Earning the paid currency lucent as a free to play player is pretty easy once you hit lvl 50 and start getting a lot of blue and purple gear to sell in the market.
so its like runescape, you can pay for everything premium through selling things on the auction house, because the auction house is only premium currency, so anything you sell, gives you premium currency. its honestly one of the most fair freemium model ive seen recently or possibly ever. Yes you might have to grind for the items you want in this MMORPG - imagine - but you dont have to pay for anything and you arent really at a disadvantage because you dont have to participate in the PVP, and the pve isnt extremely challenging, at least at the moment there is nothing you really have to grind out gear to be able to do at 50, its mechanics mastery atm.
I never feel like I can get that invested in eastern mmos. I agree about the random cute creature or magic whale that doesn't fit the environment is a bit jarring.
How can you review a game you barely played and know nothing about. Makes no sense and any real MMO players knows 3 hours is nothing....I know it's not a real review but don't give false facts when applying negative things to game
I skipped completely lore. I think this is the key to have fun in this game if you're an adult :P Apart from lore and amitoi(which you can completely ignore after game plot is done) game is really solid. I haven't spent a single real coin on this game, and now I am even making in-game coin by selling drops and crafts. If someone has to be first and asap, sure, it's pay to win, but eventually you gonna get to the same place spending nothing. There are definitely drops in the world. They are just rare, as they should.
3h probbly not enough, but valid points anyway. The game is definitely worth playing, and not as p2w as people think. Game opens up a lot more at 50 of course.
Throne and Liberty is hollow and soulless--more of the same we'd expect from a Korean MMO. There is nothing innovative here. However, I will add they have decent cutscenes, nice graphics if you like the style, and TaL is good at having many players in the same place. 5/10.
After a certain point you can turn off the visuals of the amitoi which is an improvement, and you can turn off damage floaters thank god. At least it's less cartoonish than wow so I'm having a good time.
I do! We were battling it out with Edwin Van Cleef in the Dead Mines, and discovering the macabre Duskwood (being smoked by Stitches on the road for the first time...). That said I'm 15 in T&L and just am not being drawn in. Maybe it's WoW bias, maybe it's a generational thing, but I feel like it's overly complicated...
I’ve got roughly 200 hours into the game you can 100% play and keep up without pay 2 win just casual play, you say pay 2 win but but if you play the system like warframe you don’t have to spend any money
What’s happening right now?? A young man with good pronunciation who also takes care with his annunciation!! What the..? And he not like, saying like, “like” gratuitously and constantly!?! Am I awake?? A Is this man possessed by the spirit of an older man? Or could it be a young man who has the self respect necessary to demonstrate the respect to others that is required to present oneself clearly? There is hope for the future! I might even give up sniffing glue! Well done, Sir.
You're a WoW Player, and it's really Funny that WoW which is a buy to play plus monthly sub game also have pay to win boosts in their shop and IRL money tokens for in game gold which you can use for buying a lot of good armor - weapons and raid boosts! Throne and Liberty as you said never force you to buy anything from the shop I took my time in leveling and read and listened to every single event and tried few builds with different weapons and it took me 35 hours to reach max level with a few purple / blue armor pieces without spending 1single dollar on the cash shop on the contrary the free season pass was too generous! so it's literally dumb to call it pay to win because the premium leveling experience gives you some extra materials and orbs and skill books but it doesn't make you stronger than anyone, all players can farm the materials and craft equipment and equipment enhancers and skill books it's similar to subbing in ESO you basically pay because you're lazy to farm your stuff or maybe busy with work but in the end all players will have the same powers depends on how hard they worked to craft the skills and equipment enhancers plus most of those boosters are not with IRL money they are from currency you collect from lore books and NC soft gives 500 of it to all players after each maintenance so even this is not really pay to win and there is a max limit of 20 for each item you can't buy more after I am a free to play player and already got all of them from the free coins NC Soft gave us.. at least it doesn't have an instant max level boost like the one WoW and Guild wars 2 have, talking about pay to win! Also what kind of a review is based on 12 levels in a game has level 50 as a max level plus the end game content are you for real bro? There is Secret dungeons (Solo) - Group Dungeons - Open World Dungeons - Resistance Contracts - abyssal Contracts - World Bosses - dynamic events - Guilds activities - Raids and PVP too, have you even tried any of that? Even those little pets (Amitoi) you kept complaining about are useful as you can send them on missions using missions table to farm your rare material and sometimes rare gems and can passively healing you in combat too, Also did you get any Guardians or leveled your morpths? Of course not you basically played the tutorial and did 2 main quests and called it a day.. I think you should actually play the game before making a review and rant about pros and cons and pay to win!
It’s a good review for what it is - there a few points made that I think answer themselves with more play time - but given it’s a quick first look it’s pretty spot on to my experience. I have the fucking teddy bear disabled visually and its healing turned off. I pretend it doesn’t exist 😂
PTW doesn’t bother me at all unless they make it such that end game is unachievable without it. There’s always someone in a huge mmo better than you. It literally makes no difference to me if they are sweaty or rich. I just enjoy the game for free.
I think to get the best idea you gotta do a first impressions on 1-50 then do a (x) amount of hours in end game. Cause i don’t think the game really opens till you hit level 50 I think im close to 350hrs in the game and i enjoy granted i have alot of bad things to say also
I liked the video, got a new subscriber from me. nice mini painting btw. but I think I would call this video a first impressions, not so much a review.
Wow players are not ready to ear that wow is also a pay to win. You can pay for gold, for XP, for doing mythic raid, mythic dungeon and also for PvP classement.
But regardless, this was an excellent video!
its f2p and it has nice beatiful new world to explore that was enough for me but im done with it without reaching max level....
As a pve main, I am loving it. I hate pvp and Throne and Liberty gives me plenty to do. Not a dime spent doing it too.
Both are 10$ each.
i miss helpie
The game still has pay to win elements in it though regardless
@@Akaniyama so does wow mate
@@kromster1427 really doesn't

You said UE5 pretty sure T&L is on UE4.
Also I don't know if people know this but u can sell Items on the auction house for paid currency and u can just buy everything with that
Just like warframe

@@WhatIfTheoriesBeen debating downloading the game; glad you pointed this out tbf.
Haven’t played it, and I think 3 hours is not enough for a game review, specially for an MMO, not convinced this was a good call.
Leveling Pass doesn't boost your levels. It just unlocks additional rewards whilst leveling
Bunch of smaller traits sold too, but it is a nice aspect to the game the way it is implemented, gives everybody a chance that grinds to hit it big on some item.
wtf
why spending money for battle pass and leveling pass i bought if for free from in game currency and i had 88 hours of playtime

What? Since when does WoW let you buy mythic items on day 1?
I would have to agree with this comment here, his video highlights the lack of knowledge from playing the game. You'll need more than 3 hours. Not to mention you can farm items that you can sell for premium currency
@@sct77 You can buy a wow token which you can use to gain gold and then use that gold to obtain power in some form. Yeah you cant buy mythic gear but you can certainly spend real money to boost a character in power to obtain better gear easier.
You can buy mythic runs with that gold also. Tell me people dont sell that...
@@sct77 any high end guild in the server will carry you for a price

@@StarvedTime is the same.. You can buy gold and pay mythic runs
no, T&L you literally keep spending tons of money on different pieces of gear to boost your character, it's dumb.
The anime teddy bear is probably the Eastern habit of adding comic relief.
Reminds me of paimon and I hate it.
I'm tired of seeing people defend pay to win games because their bored and don't want someone speaking the truth about a game their like
I think people are just predispositioned that when they see something like a level boost in a eastern MMO it must be p2w.

Funny….this is how I felt playing wow of all games
Yea dude you need to give it a chance it's solid.
@@VladHTX except the servers don’t crash after 40 players throwing spells left and right😂
Felt like a filler video.
I gave it a chance today as well, I went in VERY skeptical because
1: it's made by NCSoft and usually they are outrageously pay to win
2: that this MMO has been rebuilt from the ground up *multiple times* so I went in thinking it would be extremely buggy.

I hope you give this game another try, at least to current level cap, dungeons are mechanics heavy, but hella fun once you get the hang of it.
not to quote you about the wolf quest. but the anime teddys.... yeah there's a quest line with cutscene to explain why there in the world too.

Lucent is like platinum in Warframe. no one moans about Warframe? Either play it or don’t
You're right. That's why I played for three hours, as stated just a few seconds into the video lol.

Cute is normal for ppl who are used to asian mmo
NCsoft were good with things about cute at one time in Lineage 2 , but yeah they include alot more random cuteness in time.
With pve elements (that are good) to get stronger for large scale pvp.
that summons it all yes
its pay2win but not unfair
@@Flyntas for sure p2w but point is relationships and skill quickly become more important than gear. Also, you can make lucent, I make 100s$ worth of lucent from drops, traits and cooking per week. So a f2p player with a trader brain can also play or just sell on the AH and have the same advantage as a p2w player including skins. Or you win the lotto on a rare world boss drop with good trait, and you can make 300$-500$ worth of lucent instantly. So Its very dependent on the smarts and abilities, and yeah some luck, even financial savvy of each person.
Isn't this game built in UE4.
After BDO I'm done with Korean style MMOs. The monetization is just too predatory , which is a shame really, because these games have allot to offer.
I want a new USA mmo if you know what I am saying
This is the best take so far. I played 70 hours and had the exact same opinion when I decided to put it to rest. I had a ton of fun with the pve and it was very smooth and a cool world. But for all the reasons you listed I just can’t spend my time in this game.
2:05 it wasn't a nightmare it was a past event that occurred.
You're such a good painter!
Pretty good paint job. Better than mine, I will admit.
You are a good painter, looks really good!
ITS UE4 , not 5
I never feel like I can get that invested in eastern mmos.
Nixxiom be like: I played 10 minutes in this new MMO! Lemme tell you how the whole game is!
Throne and Liberty is hollow and soulless--more of the same we'd expect from a Korean MMO. There is nothing innovative here. However, I will add they have decent cutscenes, nice graphics if you like the style, and TaL is good at having many players in the same place. 5/10.
Made it to the wolf hunting contest.. phew!
I’ve been having fun but this is clearly “Boardroom the mmo”.
This game is basically an acid dream.
After a certain point you can turn off the visuals of the amitoi which is an improvement, and you can turn off damage floaters thank god. At least it's less cartoonish than wow so I'm having a good time.
Remember when your first dungeon was at level 19 in WoW?
I do! We were battling it out with Edwin Van Cleef in the Dead Mines, and discovering the macabre Duskwood (being smoked by Stitches on the road for the first time...).
That said I'm 15 in T&L and just am not being drawn in. Maybe it's WoW bias, maybe it's a generational thing, but I feel like it's overly complicated...
your good a painting
Amazon and NC Soft did an amazing job. FF14 sucks so bad compared to T&L. Better story, better combat, better graphics, and free
Yeah FF14 is so bad. T&L is top tier

Great video. Need more hame reviews from you hommie
you must try more of it 3 hours is not enough
Without a whole stream to take care of i got to around 25 in 3 hours so it is possible.
You really should put some hours into the game. You gonna like it at the end for sure.
Is this man possessed by the spirit of an older man? Or could it be a young man who has the self respect necessary to demonstrate the respect to others that is required to present oneself clearly?
There is hope for the future! I might even give up sniffing glue!
Well done, Sir.
You're a WoW Player, and it's really Funny that WoW which is a buy to play plus monthly sub game also have pay to win boosts in their shop and IRL money tokens for in game gold which you can use for buying a lot of good armor - weapons and raid boosts!
Throne and Liberty as you said never force you to buy anything from the shop
I took my time in leveling and read and listened to every single event and tried few builds with different weapons and it took me 35 hours to reach max level with a few purple / blue armor pieces without spending 1single dollar on the cash shop on the contrary the free season pass was too generous!
so it's literally dumb to call it pay to win because the premium leveling experience gives you some extra materials and orbs and skill books but it doesn't make you stronger than anyone, all players can farm the materials and craft equipment and equipment enhancers and skill books it's similar to subbing in ESO you basically pay because you're lazy to farm your stuff or maybe busy with work but in the end all players will have the same powers depends on how hard they worked to craft the skills and equipment enhancers plus most of those boosters are not with IRL money they are from currency you collect from lore books and NC soft gives 500 of it to all players after each maintenance so even this is not really pay to win and there is a max limit of 20 for each item you can't buy more after I am a free to play player and already got all of them from the free coins NC Soft gave us.. at least it doesn't have an instant max level boost like the one WoW and Guild wars 2 have, talking about pay to win!
I started off on RuneScape too! Good Times
Been more fun than wow and I’ve actually reached and done endgame for 2 weeks, not just made a review a couple hours in lmao, full free to play btw
I clicked like on Morgana fighting Gandalf
love the minions nixxion
Totally what the video is all about.
using wow as a "pure" western game design exemple was really funny to see hahahaha
I think to get the best idea you gotta do a first impressions on 1-50 then do a (x) amount of hours in end game.
Cause i don’t think the game really opens till you hit level 50
I think im close to 350hrs in the game and i enjoy granted i have alot of bad things to say also
What are some of your pros and cons?
I liked the video, got a new subscriber from me. nice mini painting btw. but I think I would call this video a first impressions, not so much a review.
Wow players are not ready to ear that wow is also a pay to win. You can pay for gold, for XP, for doing mythic raid, mythic dungeon and also for PvP classement.
