    Great. Could you do something like this with the "position" and "capture, revert". Also I'd like to champion your use of repetition in your videos. It helps cement the process. It illustrates in the series with Dan, things he remembers and things that he's still solidifying in his process. Keep up the good work.

      That is such a good recommendation. I would like to produce that video soon. Stay tuned! Thanks for the encouragement too!

      Thanks so much! You have been such a fine supporter of our channel. Thank you!
      I wonder if there is something wrong though, because we’ve released a few videos in the last little while; one on Monday and one last Friday. Have you seen those ones yet?

      @@morgenkaffe No worries at all. Have you set the 🔔 to receiving all notifications? It defaults to a “Personalized” setting which I think doesn’t notify you with all videos.
      We truly appreciate your ongoing support and encouragement. Thank you so much!!!

    What do I do if I want to use these same concepts but copy to a different folder to use in a different project?

    • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready  Місяць тому

      Unfortunately, you can’t copy an item from one design into another using this method. You will need to use another method. I haven’t created a tutorial on that specific case yet. However, the general concept can be found in the following tutorial:

    This is the flakiest command I have used, sometimes paste new shows up, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it selects multiple components which are not connected. Last thing it did on me was, when I hit past new it kept pulling it from another design I had opened, which was no longer selected. I wish there was a break link function that could be used after an ordinary copy is made.

      Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. A couple years ago I would have completely agreed with you. However, when I finally fully grasped it, it became a powerful tool. You can see a practical use case of this tool in a tutorial I made on modeling a shed. Please check it out to see how to properly manage components, and use copy and paste vs paste new. All the best!

    Notice! "Appearance", like 3D wood material for example, can be applied separately to each copied component ;-)

    I just hate when you edit a paste new component, it snaps back to the origin of the copied part. Confusing

      I completely understand! At first, it drove me bananas! However, when I realized that Fusion is doing exactly what we want it to do, and when I improved my workflow, that issue went away. I know it will all make sense in due time. Keep trying to use those tools. You can also check out our tutorial on designing a shed which shows how easy it is to use paste new, and how beneficial components go back to their origins. I’ll post it right after this comment.

    I dont ever have the paste as new option. Is there a reason why?

    • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready  7 місяців тому

      Can you explain a little more please? Do you mean that you aren’t able to “Paste New”? Or, do you mean that you don’t like to “Paste New”?

    • @yourcreativeplayground6829
      @yourcreativeplayground6829 7 місяців тому +1

      I mean I copy things whether it be a sketch, body, or component and I never have paste as new. Only paste.

    • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready  7 місяців тому

      @@yourcreativeplayground6829 Ok, I understand now. Paste New is very handy when you have a component that is very similar to another but slightly different. Instead of modelling the second one from the ground up, you can copy and paste new. No downstream edits will affect the new component, but all upstream will. It’s a huge time-saver!
