Enjoyed the video. Not sure about the velvet collar, but I think the patches would look great on that jacket. The money I could save if I could customize my own clothes. Thanks.
*EXCELLENT - YOU GOT A SUBSCRIBER...!* I bought a second-hand Harris Tweed of 1980's vintage - I was terribly disappointed, loose weave - the wind blew straight through it - gave it away. IMO a dark chocolate brown top collar would be lovely.
Hy sir. I have an identical jacket like the one with a single vent. It so beautiful and it keeps me good warmth in winter. I bought it yeras a go from a second hand store in Romania.
Hello I’m looking forward to seeing the finished item. I think it’s great you are travellingmping vintage items. In my opinion it would look ith a toning corduroy collar and pocket flaps, personally I dislike elbow patches….. too “history reacher”! I also like single vents… I always sew up the horrid double vents!
How does one get around dry cleaning eroding the leather buttons and elbow patches? do they have to be removed? I don't dry clean an awful lot, but sometimes with vintage garments it seems necessary.
I am sure this gentleman is full of interesting stories; keep the videos coming. You have given me plenty of ideas for my vintage shopping already.
This man strikes me as an absolute genius.

Hi David. I love that jacket you’re showcasing. Do you know the exact name of the houndstooth tweed pattern on it?

I had no idea you can shorten lapels! I will be looking into that for my Harris Tweed jackets.
Don't do it
