I am going through the same exact process trying to get off of birth control without going crazy. My acne has been ruthless, cysts, scabs, redness. I went to an aesthetician to get extractions, cooling therapy and a chemical peel series but I am in serious need of dermatology. I’m 25 and have never been so no shame there! I got married in August and went off birth control to prep my body for future pregnancy. I have been on it for 10 years. Give yourself grace, it’s so hard but it will pass!
Hey Rach! I grew into flight anxiety this year but I'm like you, not scared of planes just get a ton of anxiety the day before (even a few days before!). Everyone is different but what SAVED me was a big workout the night before like a big run/barry's/F45 etc and making sure I eat the day of (I try to limit caffeine too because it makes me even more anxious) and taking CBD gummies whenever I feel the anxiety coming on. I take the ones from Highline Wellness, usually the nighttime ones before bed (especially with a morning flight) and then the daytime ones an hour-ish before the flight or sooner if I feel like I need it. Hope this helps and you're definitely not alone

Even on 25mg ): Spiro seems to work well, but only if you take it forever?thats what my derm said. Ugh. Tretonoin has worked well on my chin area but requires patience. I’m nervous when I go off birth control someday my skin might freak out too /: but trying not to worry about that lol. Thanks for sharing!!❤

Finally went to a derm a couple of weeks ago and they also got me on the spirunalactone and some topicals. My skin is finally getting better. Glad you are finding relief as well. Bad skin is such a confidence killer! You’re gorgeous either way 😊 Happy holidays!
For your face! Get vitamin E, take a capsule and bite into to so break it, then take the inside oil and rub it onto your scabs (you don’t need a lot, just a dab) works so much better than neosporin - or you can get the jar of vitamin e oil and take a q-tip and dab it onto the scab
Hi! I went off birth control too and was taking spironolactone but, my gynecologist said you shouldn’t take that medication without being on birth control because it can cause birth defects if you become pregnant!!
Make sure with the spironolactone to make sure you don’t get pregnant with while on it!!! Also make sure you eat frequently and eat enough salt because spironolactone will lower your blood pressure and you can pass out! Speaking from experience with it ❤️

I’ve been using Spironolactone with a combination of two different topical creams in the morning and at night for 1.5 years and I barely get any breakouts! It took about 4-5 months for me to really notice a difference but omgg I’m so happy about the results. One thing I am nervous about is when me and my soon to be husband start trying for a baby I know I am going to have to get off of it so I’m kind of nervous about how my skin is going to get after not taking it for 9+ months.
Btw, if you want a new show to watch, Tell Me Lies on Hulu is so good! I wouldn't recommend watching in public because there are a lot of steamy scenes, but it is a very good show!
Spironolactone saved my skin before my wedding! I was just on too high of a dose and it caused some crazy fatigue and brain fog and raised my kidney levels too high, so my primary took me off it. After coming off my skin is still good(knock on wood LOL) so maybe it was a temporary med for me and hopefully it can be temporary for you too! Skincare is a dang journey!
a functional medicine doctor may be able to help with hormonal acne too! i’ve never had a good experience the few times i’ve been to a dermatologist :( i’m working to clear hormonal acne too
I was on Spirnolactone and it made me gain weight. It’s supposed to do the opposite but it made me gain weight. I was always hungry and I was always eating so I would just be self-aware of that!

IIRC you drink whole milk. Which contains androgen hormones that causes acne. I would cut out any diary for a while and see the change.
