I got one for our trusty old Honda CR-V, the 905 with front dashcam for $161 I got it when on sale and it's incredible value for what you get. I like that Carplay connects direct to both the Carpuride and to your car's sound system and then makes everything work as if it was a built in system. Apps work fine and music drops volume when you get a phone call etc. Waze instructions work perfectly. Our newer car has built in wireless Carplay and the Carpuride works just as well. The dashcam is really good too with high quality images Ok, it has a single power wire hanging down but that's not a big deal for me. Definitely worth making templates to help decide the best model to fit your car.
Yeah I love it but if I could have one additional feature it would be a built in FM/DAB radio tuner so I didn’t have to switch the car stereo back and forth from radio and Bluetooth mode
I've been using it for a few weeks now in the Duster and it genuinely is a great upgrade over the built-in stereo. I've actually managed to reposition it slightly better so as it blocks less of the road (put the suction cup upside down and lower down). I know this was a sponsored video but even if this wasn't sent to me for review, I would have purchased this!
Do you know if the Bluetooth connects to the cars infotainment system as an audio device or a phone device? So do you need to select BT in the source menu to access the sound from the new screen? Example would be if you wanted to listen to the radio through the old system but have carplay on the new one, do you need to change the source on the old one to hear the phone call?
The way I have it set up, it connects as an audio device and you need to have your radio source set to bluetooth to be able to take phone calls. I think you can set it up differently but I haven't fiddled too much.
Lovely video as always, thanks for your effort and time. I do wonder about the legality of suction cup accessories on the windscreen. Given that any visual blemish can mean an MOT failure and the fact that furry dice from the rear view mirror are now banned, there must be some protected zones of the windscreen that prevent accessories blocking the view. In your example, it looks like the lower left view from the driver's position would be partially blocked by the suction cap on the windscreen. Just a thought.
Since I made the video I have actually turned the suction cup holder the other way up and it sits a lot lower down on the screen. Barely even visible in the eyeline now and the screen can fit snugly against the dash. From my driving position, the amount of visibility lost is hardly anything compared to the bonnet of the car! so yes it could be a problem, it's not much of an issue how I had it installed in the video, but it can be installed even better than that.
Basically it's the same with a different screen aspect ratio, but there are so many variations of each model that it's tricky to compare like for like.

looks to be a good solution for older cars, and the models with dashcam features are even better value when compared to buying a separate dashcam

is the only difference between the w903 and w905 the screen or does the w905 have better features because it is newer
