On the left baseline drive defensive block call… u had good position… I think u just need to stay strong and wall up in that position rather than falling… cuz it’s a hard call to not call a block and it’s a hard call to get the charge call in that so if u just beat him there & stay strong , u should be straight unless he spins which most players not even thinking about that going that fast.
You're finally finding your groove on the last matches, great to see. Toney + AB + you must be the most lethal trio guards you can find in Portugal for sure. If you're looking for an advice on defending : like Carter III said, be ready to bump hard first to show the attacker you're not giving him the separation he's looking for, and keep your hands out if you don't want an hesitant ref to call the foul. Playoffs are coming, keep working hard, much love from France.
From someone who’s trying to get get in your position on the two plays you asked about: on the post play: either hit him first or anticipate the bump and play too that. From what I’ve studied most people when they catch it on certain sides mainly that left block either they coming middle or they going hard baseline. Set feet boom charge. The other play: just beat him to the spot and get your feet there first cause he was going to the basket already his momentum was going that way so I’d just use it against him. You did everything right to me though just seems like on the ref 🤷🏾♂️
on that blocking foul, it just seems like you're pretty off balanced. almost as if youre falling into him when contact is made. i know its easy for me to say on youtube lol but it looks like you were playing catch up to get to that spot before he did. awesome video as always man.
WHat a monsterrr gammeeee. For the tips (despite being a little to young) I would say this: For the 1.º thing I would say for you to run a little faster so you can be ahead of the defender and after that just stop wherever you think the defender will be driving, it can be risky as he can switch direction but if you time it right you will get an ofensive foul. For the 2.º I would say to in the first bump to bump hard and because he will *probably* bump even harder the next one you should fall and get the charge. I'm just a young hooper in Portugal however I hope this tips help you and I also hope you continue to play for my club THE BEST CLUB for many years. CARREGA BENFICA
Don't do it for the UA-cam hahahah they trippin cause you way better than they'll ever be at hooping and you still rocking this great content on youtube 💯 keep up bro!!
Been binging on your videos. Great stuff. I hope one day you run some basketball camps because it’s clear you are a student of the game and have great bball knowledge.
On that block/charge call, step to the spot more than to his body. You had position, but at the point of contact, you were moving towards the offensive player. Still a bang, bang play tho
Same thing with the post up bro. Like your big said, take the first bump then use that baseline as an extra defender and beat him to his spot instead of trying to give back body blows. Send him to help or let him go through you, but no way you should let him get around you baseline side if help is middle. Keep doing your thing, this is f*cking dope you’re sharing your journey like this!
Congrats! Great game. And about the defence, lower you ass a bit more maybe. In the second situation you should move your feet parallel and more quickly to close him the space along the line. Then he would need to pivot and you intercept him on the other side. When defending post I would always try to anticipate the opponent and not be too aggressive, just close the space and he can shoot over you if he wants to.
when you get beat have to swing that bottom foot give up space and beat them to spot open your hips more. you will get that charge call and do a better of contesting.
Try to anticipate on his driving line and do not over react (reaching for an offensive foul) 15:23 ... P.S I'm not a pro atlethe yet but i try improve my defense IQ ... so this is my little advise
On the blocking foul you kind of ran into him and you raised your hands at the last moment. Try to block his path with your hands already up, so he bumps into you.
On the baseline block foul call. I know that every coach says that you should slide your feet on defense, but in this situation it will always result to a block when you try to bump him out of the drive. It sounds strange but you should try to be more jumpy defending the baseline drives and try to jump and plant your feet before the opponent gets the space parallel to you.Especially when they have their head down and only one way to go.99 % of players wont be able to get shifty and exploit that you will be out of balnce or too planted before and after the jump. Or you can try force him baseline as much as you can and trust that the big will protect the basket .
You gotta bump with your chest and keep your hands out so the refs can see your playing clean defence if the guy your guarding is faster than you run with him and keep your hands out
You not getting the calls because your hands are down and you bump them and when your taking the charge is the same your hands are down and your bump them and then you fall you have to really absorb the contact and then sell it right.
at 17:12 the foul is called on you because you went on his direction and invaded the are of attacker , next time try to pull the chair , you he plays phisical so when he tries do bump you let him bump air , and on the first your feet were not in the correct position you have to move laterelly and get hit in the chest hope it helps
On that transition play where you got called for a foul It looks like you tripped and lost your balance there which eventually lead to bump into the defender. Tbh if you didn't lose your balance you could have easily got in front of him and held your position without fouling.
@Trey Drechsel for getting in trouble with fauls like in video when guy past you or on your side put your hand on his back and when he bumps just hold him by waist and try to block with other hand and when he is taller just try same but try to take ball of the dribble stay lower because low guy wins or pull the chair when he is stronger or when they start to attack your top foot try to slide and sligtly push them with same hand on their chest that is no call and that way they will eather shoot or pass if they shoot just pick their uncomfortable side and jump on that so they miss a shot because often times just by puting hands around ball on their unconfy side will force them to miss if they pass just be carefull of a cut or watch floor for some backdoor cut soo you can help your team and when he past you already just turn around and sprint and try to catch a timing you can some time take a ball when they pick it up from the floor because if you put your hand under theirs they cant extend arm and you can take live ball of the drible especially when you have help side.when you play 1v1 just force him on his weaknesses a whole point in defence is to make your opponent unconfy so you can play on their weak side and on same days you would need some help like side defender when someone is better than you in their offence just call help leave a worst enemy guy open and double the best guy that is how defence works you some time need to give something but if you have to give something give them weakest thing they have you have some players who can easily blow by but they cant finish on some side and no matter how much space they have they will still miss so found that and try to play on side of defenders or behind them some guys cant stand that they will fear blocks or steals because in defence like in offense you can call 2, player or 3.rd can be in position to help.you can discuss it on timeouts or when timeout end you guys are players and you are not the leaders of the team but you need to think with you heads and help eachother because when your head is up for result you can see its sl benfica not drechsel not couch its team sport you need to work as a team communicate like a team and be a team.you on defence cant cover everything because in the end of the day guy who is 0/9 can hit game winning shot its about seeing thing and comunicating what you can do what you cant do what they miss what they are best at and you need to understand its okay to not have everything it wouldnt be sport it will be crashing people carrers so its not it.just focus what their weaknesses are and force them into mistake sometimes you no need to take a ball ball will naturally come when you are in front of a defender. fauls are when they obviously will score but you cut their action to reset them and if you making foul on someone who will score make a hard one so they understand nothing is more important to you than that game and if they want a win they need to earn it with blood literally.at the end of the day when game finish you can say sorry and back to normal life because just like you said if ball is not going in just relax life is not about basketball you have something better than that in life soo on court be the person you want to be off court and that is to crave to be better and doing apsolutly everything to make it happen.

Appreciate it big dog!!
Great video as usual! On your defense around 17:00 - maybe the first answer is to make an extra-effort to close the bottom line.
I would love a compilation at the end of the season of you coming back to get the camera looooool
i was hoping you put the clip of tc doing pushups then misses the first ft and the sporting dude does a push-up too so tc points to the score board 😂
I was anxious for this video🦅⚪🔴
Just in case you didn't knew, the nº9 was a member of NN before joining sporting, just a comic detail.

For the blocking foul, you have to set your feet first

you got called on the blocking foul because you were in the motion, being stationary while getting pushed will result in you getting more calls
Nice new outro
Glad you noticed bro 💪🏼
Benfica Sempre
Big win
Benfica
You gotta bump with your chest and keep your hands out so the refs can see your playing clean defence if the guy your guarding is faster than you run with him and keep your hands out
Maybe try to use more your core or try to put more pressure with your core while defending. Just my two cents as non-player.
Bro you should try to come to Greece the level is high and the fans are crazy!
Keep doing it for the UA-cam lol fuck em!!!
haha we on the same wave brother !!

I didn’t know you had Serbian citizenship, in a few years you will have to play for Serbia!
