The more I hear Tricky speak, the more I realise that he is possibly the most genuine person in the music industry. Or possibly the ONLY genuine person. Fucking great guy.
I saw one of the best shows of all time, it was in San Francisco and Tricky was phenomenal, after show he was at the door thanking everybody that came out! The brother hugged me and said " this is why I do it mate!" Fuck what you heard this dude is legit! Stay up Tricky keep doing what you do and growing brother. Respect.
Listen to Maxinquaye. Tricky is to me way more interesting than any American hip hop artist. So he's got strong opinions, strong emtions...he's an artist, not a politician.
The need of becoming an artist and unsolved childhood trauma are usual partners in crime. Everybody has problems In one moment or another, the difference is that childhood trauma can stick and inadvertently result in many issues in your adult life. We all should be more understanding before this kind of problems, it is not a matter of "being" something, it is more like a prison for the self. Tricky is a true artist who has consistently delivered great music, and decided to put up a fight to be a better artist and person. And btw, i just listened to the album it is great. Respect!
A lot of what he's saying here is in his book - it's told by him, family, friends, etc..A lot of different perspectives & stories. So good. I was a teenager in the mid- late 90s & got heavy into Tricky- still decades later his music is so amazing & still listen to a lot of the stuff from back in the day. Anyone who's into Tricky - I highly recommend his book "Hell is Round The Corner ". He was ahead of his time way, way back & went thru SO much at such a young age. He could've went down a completely different path ..the more I learn about him, the more respect I have for him.
I had never heard of Tricky until yesterday while I was watching reruns of Girlfriends on Netflix. Back when the show first came out I didn’t realize there were so many celebrities on the show I’d never heard of. But this go around, I decided to look up some of the people they featured. Interesting…
I think....and of course I could be wrong......that people find him arrogant because he has no filter. Just speaks his mind damn the consequences. I read on some of the comments below that he was rude or disrespectful and I say "ok and?" Like people forget musicians are people. Some have complexes that make the assholes but for the most part most are cool. And if their not who cares?
I agree, facts, truth & honesty in a world compiled of BS where people sugar coat the truth & hate the cold facts. You're never a popular person when you call it out.

But they had a daughter together so its alot deeper than we know. Thats between them. All I know is that they make incredible music together. Absolutely brilliant

Love him as well as Martina I’d like to know what really happened between them to make it seem like there are these I reconcilable differences which I get , especially after the death of they’re daughter I couldn’t imagine I have they at least have a stable friendship much love to them
3:20 why doesn't tricky give props to prince? couldn't figure out the story he was trying to tell here. he saw prince dancing in a club and then threw out every bit of prince merch??
Yeh that took me back and I wonder if Tricky didn't get Damon's dark sense of humor. Albarn seems like a good guy who is all about the music these days.

In his twisted mind she has betrayed him by working with Massive Attack who themselves betrayed him in the mid '90s when he left the group ... it's Tricky against the world. This guy is on a one way track to being a bitter and lonely old man. Really sorry I watched this rubbish :/
yb He said here he would do business with them by which I guess he means making music :/ I've lost a lot of respect for him I mean a loaded Uzi under the bed? Who would throw out their Prince classics because of obnoxious behaviour by security? It comes with the territory as he should know full well because of course he behaves like that himself at times and a lot of people don't like him. Incredible hypocrisy!

Love tricky, but I can’t agree. I don’t think you’ve listened to enough hip hop

Wow you've got a serious journey ahead of you. Tricky is amazing!!!!
I don’t care if we don’t agree on some topics. He’s the real deal. And I respect that. It’s an increasingly rare trait in this world of hypocrisy.

Always loved Tricky and 3D at same level but 3D became irrelevant to me and I refuse to support his main causes.
Why?
