Great video once again pal! From a Welshman's perspective this 6 Nations has been a great contest. The best nation Ireland definitly won that's for sure! Given that Wales has such a young side I think we can only go up from here and in a couple of years I truley think we're are going to have a top 5 side again. We got some great potential in these young boys coming through. Wales as a team need to remember that we didn't lose any game by a huge margine and this was against very experienced teams so we can hold our heads up high. All the nations played extremely well, Looking forward to see what next year brings for sure! Hoping you carry on making this sort of content. Great to see an American's perspective on this great sport. 👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Thanks so much Rhys! I appreciate you! You're 100% spot on with Wales being a young team. I think they're going to get it together and find their stride. A lot of solid talent there to grow and develop. It'll just take some time for things to click

You said something very relevant Jeff.
You said Italians U20 are playing well.
And with that statement you identified the key.
For American Rugby they have to grow school and college Rugby.
The biggest your youth playing pool, the more players with potential can be moved to higher quality coaching centers.
This leads to a better National team.

I appreciate you Clive. You're spot on w/ developing the youth pool and moving up potential player and talent through the ranks

One of the things that watching full games teaches you (which I am sure you have realised), over just watching the highlights, is that the errors are a result of the pressure and the constant relentlessness.

It’s clear that your knowledge base has grown so much since watching the six nations Jeff. Cannot fault your analysis or conclusions on the teams.
Wales are in massive transition. The Welsh regions are really struggling. There are a multitude of reasons why which are too complicated to go into on UA-cam comments. They’re in trouble for sure.
Scotland will be the same in a few years time.
They need to move away from England being the game they motivate themselves for. Otherwise they have a squad that could beat any body. It feels like they are a team capable of great moments of individual brilliance. Can’t get it together as a team. The defense though was heroic in that Ireland game.
No real complaints about the Earl penalty. Don’t put yourself in a position to let the referee make a decision. More complaints about Irelands second try that was clearly held up.
    Glad you enjoyed the tournament.
Looking forward to the summer tours. England to Japan and New Zealand, Ireland to South Africa, Wales to Australia and Scotland to South America.

A very pertinent comment was “it’s like chess”. Firstly let me state categorically that I am not in any way criticising rugby league, it’s a great sport, but many who come to rugby see league with its terrific running and tackling, but see it without the understanding of how rugby union is more cerebral. As has been said often in the past, “rugby league is chequers/draughts, rugby Union is chess”. It was good to hear a newcomer understand this.
Also, your appreciation that rugby is always about sportsmanship and respect. It is one of the things that makes it the wonderful sport it is.

A pretty good six nations and solid summary from you here 👍
    Ireland deserved winners 🏆
    England and France finished strong
    Italy great tournament
Scotland teased us over 50 mins and then wondered off somewhere !!
Wales tough gig this year need a bit of confidence
England v France games were epics , the under 20’s games was wild
My issue with the penalty notwithstanding the inconsistency was that the TMO called it and the ref never checked it or reviewed it . The ref on the field should make that call
Lyon was rocking , first French try was sublime
And down under just seen the Xavier Coates try to beat the Warriors with seconds left wow wow wow !!!

Here's may take on France-England. Caveats: I am not an expert like those mentioned, but maybe an informed amateur, and I have been a supporter of France for many many years through fat and lean years so I have some reference points.
Though there were some brilliant plays in the game, it was disappointing. Mostly both teams appeared sloppy on both offense and defense. On offense frequent handling errors. France was unable to score when they had dominated the first 15 minutes. The England defense was good, however France played in a predictable manner on the try line and was unable to marshall its superior line strength. England only got something going at the end of the first half.
The France defense had problems through the tournament. In this game they seemed out of position at times starting with the England try at the end of the half. That continued from the beginning of the second half. England rushed through gaps in the defensive line and knew how to conclude. A not so great England team scored its most points in the tournement. In the two games where France defense played well, France only survived because of two miraculous calls in the last seconds.
So it was basically a 1-4(with a flattering 3-1-1)up against a 2-3(or generously 3-2). When England scored near the end, I thought that they would win, so I turned to your Chat(I am not a Chat person)to hear your comments.
You told us that France had moved over midfield, and then announced a penalty for France. I thought, Ramos is not going to miss twice and he didn't. Then I looked at the replay to see France stumble into(not charge)England territory and see his kick at 50 meters and thought that maybe he might miss this time. But of course he didn't.
I enjoyed the Ireland-Scotland game much more. Ireland dominated but complicated its situation by eschewing two penalties and coming up with nothing, and Scotland hung on. Now the experts can contradict me and tear apart my analysis. It is too long for me to go into all the details in arriving at my conclusions.

I really love and appreciate you perspective and insight on the France v England game. You're helping me view the game from a different approach and give amazing examples that I have overlooked and/or not understand completely.
So thank you for the thought provoking insight Ned!
I can see how the Ireland v Scotland game was more enjoyable. It was definitely a game that could've gone either way, but Scotland failed to capitalize on opportunites

@@QSNgg An aside about Thomas Ramos. He was interviewed and asked if his earlier missed kick weighed on him. He responded, oh no, that was a completely different kick on the side lines. I realized at the moment that I my follow-through was not solid enough. He was just being matter-of-fact.

As a welsh man I knew we weren't going to do well this tournament as he is breeding in new young players but we were just getting the basics wrong. Wales also have a 25 cap rule so if a player doesn't have 25 caps and then moves to play in another country they are no longer available for selection so hopefully that ban will be lifted soon as we have so many good players that have gone for the money and rightly so but then they cant play for their national team. If a player is already playing professional rugby before they get their first cap the ban doesn't apply to them, confusing I know and ridiculous

    • @QSNgg
      @QSNgg  2 місяці тому

      @Leslie-Rugby 2 місяці тому

@@QSNggRugby IS the history of England vs the world! It's not by random chance that most big rugby nations are former english colonies and the four nations of UK. Add to that the historic military rival of England, France, and you have the whole world of rugby hating on England. XD Except maybe Italy, I don't think they have that much bad history with England. But apart from that, yeah. X)
It's merely playful but in France, people will genuinly root for any team facing england unless there is a special context, like when England faced South Africa in the semies after SA eliminated France in a controversial manner. People were split. I even saw a meme with the guy having to choose between two things and sweating over it, in which he had to choose between supporting England and South Africa and the guy was labeled as "french rugby fans". X)
