When you place a connector like that you're missing the fixture units, this parameter is necessary to make the calculations for cold domestic water and hot water, and each fixture type has its own fixture units. Is better to put a water closet MEP family or a lavatory MEP family, for example. On the sanitary system you should avoid 90 degrees angles in the horizontal plane and the sanitary connection for that WC is usually on the bottom. Without looking the technical aspects is a great example of how to model plumbing in Revit. Thanks for the video. Huge fan.
Tell me how we calculate flush valve water closets. When the first on a bank is 40 wsfu, 2nd is 3 wsfu and so on. But when we size mains we only need to calc it once for the overall building.
Keep up the good work dude 👌 u help me a lot im first at revit, my friends all use autocad and sketchup and i just think revit is more fast and next level so i decided to learn it alone
if you learn revit by yourself - it's wasting your time - because revit is not intuitive program. Revit has his own rules, his own language which you must learn. Courses are not so expensive anymore, so it's better to pay someone, or some online tutorial to teach you. It will be much more effective and you will get in practice much sooner.
Thanks for the video! There are a few code items not presented in the video, but this gives a good idea of how to use the program. Keep it up, your videos are wonderful!
I thought the same thing when I initially watched this video. But he's doing his best! I love his videos. I just started making some revit plumbing videos on my channel. I'd love some feedback and video ideas. Feel free to check them out!
Hi there, great tutorials, have been following for a while and they have been great giving me an insight on various aspects of Revit. After forty years as a services draughtsman, the last five specifically in hydraulics (Plumbing), with the last three swearing at Revit and Architects, I feel I should toss in a comment or two. Unlike the Electrical, HVAC or Civil drainage disciplines, Hydraulics is directly impacted by the Architectural model. With pipework attaching to fixtures that are placed within the central model by the Architect and most of the time not having direct access to that model, once that pipework has been drawn, if a fixture is moved as little as 50mm(2") this can cause hours of frustration or redrawing to get the pipes to fit again due to grades and the inflexibility of Revit. Having said that I would like to reference your video and make a couple of observations. 1 Do not use the Mechanical Project Model. Open browse and use the Plumbing Project model. 2 Would suggest, if I may, that you do a video on how to use copy/monitor to align grids and levels with an inserted model. 3 The WC you have shown appears to be an S-Pan rather than a P-Pan. The purpose of the design aspect of Revit is to obtain accurate detailed modeling with clash detection. This starts with the Architect using the correct fixtures. Note that a P-Pan will have a connection on the centreline at least 150mm above FFL which allows a pipe to run above the floor not in it as yours will do if you start at zero offset. (Sorry but my biggest bugbear is accuracy or lack thereof and I tend to ramble) What I say above will have minimal effect on a simple single level dwelling but if you are working on a multistory building, or a facility with large ablution areas, accuracy becomes paramount. The ability to negotiate steel structures and other service disciplines can be a pain in the butt however successfully doing so, even though you can not see the result under the floor slab, is rewarding. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video
useful shortcuts for isolation/hiding: HH (hide element) HC (hide category) IC (isolate category) I see you didnt add any of these to your description, they are very useful...probably the commands I use the most...
When trying to insert/load family, I can't find the "connector" under Libraries -> English -> Plumbing -> MEP. I followed your steps but I can't see the folder for pipes.
Can we get the template to follow your steps. This is the way I learn faster these steps and would be nice to work with you parallel as you are showing things. Thanks...
For some reason people want to show videos without dealing with ANY problems that exist when doing ANYTHING! This video is no different , show challenges and difficulties and how to fix them you'll SURELY be at 1million subscribers if you can do that. I was looking for a video about changing the height (elevation ) when trying to place a floor drain. For some reason the drain is only setting at the bottom of an upper floor and i don't know how to fix this!
A Couple more questions if you don't mind. why did you want to use the Mechanical template to start with but did not want to use it in the view. What happens when you change the discipline from plumbing to mechanical and then change the subdiscipline to plumbing. Cheers
hello dear I use the 2018 version but I didn't have any file of the connection should I delete and reinstall again or not? I am completely confused... what should I do?
hello sir.,may i ask why you need to use "mechanical "template and not sanitary or plumbing template?can you explain so we know the reason..?thank you so much.
Is it possible to put pipes directly into the wall? Not to make some "sanitary space" behind the elements. I tryed to make project like IRL, like we do it here in Serbia, to put pipe 5cm from conector, inside of wall, and it said to me "distance to short". -.-
Hey Balkan Architect. I love your tutorials and am a great fan of the work your doing. I have learnt a lot in the last couple of weeks and I look forward to watching your tutorials every single day. I have one request though. Do you mind doing a nested Revit door family tutorial with 2 frames, 2 door panels, 2 door handles. Please, I would really appreciate your help since it seems only your tutorials are the most relevant.
great work as usual.... 👌👌 if you could please do a video with explanation of pipe routing and duct routing preferences ( preferred junction type tee or tap , flange ) ..... nobody seems to know it.... even in internet. will be a great help man
hello i'm a beginner, how do you usualy put angle valve for cold water to the water closet? because here in qatar cold water is in the bottom of closet with angle valve, same goes to wash basin, and does it also have handspray? thank you
I am working with Revit 2022 and there is an issue with the connections between the two PVC pipes. The second one wont connect to the first (I am guessing due to the slope of the PVC coming from the first water closet is now too low for the connection of the second water closet?). Is there a easy fix or standard fix for this?
Yes, if the pipes are both sloped and not at exactly the same elevation, then they will not connect. It's best to draw the pipes from the sloped main to your fixtures. You have to draw the pipe just like you would install the pipe in the field. I'm doing a video on sloped piping soon on my channel. Hopefully you'll check it out.
Sir I Have a Problem, in my project have 7 story so, I will Change the basic to level name and then after that from 2nd level discipline is not abel to change how i can fixed this
"Just draw the pipes with lines, who cares? Why can't we just do this in AutoCAD?" - 99% of all MEP "CAD Drafters" everywhere. At my last firm (this was about 10 years ago) we did an entire 5 story building with 2D CAD Links, layered onto each level of the Revit model. The HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, all of it. No modelled objects at all. When the architect complained the PM replied "The contract called for Revit, there's your Revit. It didn't say anything about not using CAD imports." Thankfully I had nothing to do with that project...
What about the toilet flange at floor level? Don't you do it that way? That's how you do it in real life. Also, every fresh water supply to the tank that I've seen goes to the RH side of the tank, not the LH like you show. Also, the elevations of the waste water need to go below the toilet, and the fresh water needs to drop down to about 6" above floor level. Does this pass for 'OK' in the industry?.
These videos are great and very informative but I am not able to find the exact files used in this tutorial. I have signed up and subscribed to the patreon account but no files date back to May 2018. Could someone please help with the location of the project files?

Good point, however he did give the second toilet a sweep.

I dont know why I bother watching other tutorials, Balkan u are the best
Exactly
You are awesome. We learn alot from your channel. Thank you. You are highly appreciated from South Africa
Thank you so much that is the most comprehensive tutorials of all the rest only add one pipe to each appliance
Hey, just wanted to say the production value on this video is great. Thanks for posting, it really helped me out.
I totally agree, Mr. Christopher Bare
Wow! Wow! Wow! brilliant Sir, I joined Revit course from 23/12/20 and your videos are more and more helpful. Thank you Very much.

@@akilzuckerberg1453 its OK, sometimes i give courses to people too haha
you are a blessing. my revit skills will be even better
good job i think i have found a best channel to help me in building my skill
Excellent work! Keep these coming!
I learned a little bit about plumbing, thank you!
you make great video's Balkan, I really appreciate it!!

Thanks for another great video. Under the routing preferences why did you change most of them to PVC but left 2 of the items unchanged.
Thanks great videos
Thank you ❤👍👍
thanks a lot for your basic tutorial, I am learning Revit Autodesk.
BA your videos are really cool, very helpful wow. some electrical will also help a lot. Thank you so very much.

same, have u found the answer?
hello dear
I use the 2018 version but I didn't have any file of the connection should I delete and reinstall again or not?

what should I do?
where do you find these plumbing elements when they arnt already in the revit family ?
You probably need to download revit families from Autodesk
Did you manage it?
Thank you 😊

I have a problem .when I drew the sewer line with 45 degree it cannot intersect with main sewer line . ?? I need help
call out vs. view port??
is it the same thing in Revit, or are their differences?
I cant find the auto repair shop file on patreon
I want to know if family (like plumbing fixture) is pre loaded in revit or need to download separately..
everythign is greyed out and I cannot edit anything in revit with a linked file how do i fix this?
This is a nice tutorial but could u upload somewhere that auto_repair_shop plan somewhere to download? So i can follow everything step by step.

Thanks អរគុណ❤
How do you get all these systems when you load a family. How do I get the imperial and metric library?
how did you change the line color and weight of your pipes based on its system type?
can we do hydraulic analysis and design in revit? For example, determining the size of pipes is water supply pipe network in a building.
Superb explanation expecting more Mep
This could’ve saved me hours on my thesis...
thanks so muchhh
GOOD JOB BALKAN ARCHITECT. I JUST what to ask to put a conector on a flat surface like a floor will it work?
How long will it take for a mechanical engineer to learn Revit MEP from the beginning level to advance (not very advanced) level?
Hi, where can I find the tool? Thank you
is that totally finish your tutorial design plumbing show? how to use the component put on in either the copying plumbing the sizing and more..
Is this different version of Revit or Revit architecture
This is basic Revit.
terimaksih sangat membantu
How do you add plumbing to the second floor in the mechanical template?
Do I have to change the discipline to plumbing, always? Can't I make it from the architectural template?
How are you creating the lines for the pipes? Mine just wont. Keeps giving me errors
Hi, this is great. Do you have plumbing and HVAC courses?
I am working with Revit 2022 and there is an issue with the connections between the two PVC pipes. hey, want to know how i can create a piping system in other templates like arch template ,hope you can help.
How to see my slope in which direction
Hey brother nice video but can you tell me any way through which we can incorporate both architectural and MEP in one single project in Revit?
hiii..i use rvt 2021 but i can't find mechanical template.. just arch, struc, and system tmplate
how do you create a water supply terminal in revit and how do i create a water sewage terminal in revit?

Good luck
the drainage isnt connected though, you can see when you go to a better detail view
