Thanks everyone for the support. For those of you following along on my instagam (@mod.musings), you know how long this actually took 😅. If you haven't seen the rest of the office update series, you can watch it all here: ua-cam.com/play/PLB6HvE9eDWoiT7QqUYWJ0DPeVUAiqfCIT.html
Absolutely! I had some something similar at my old job, and it was a fantastic space for cutting things, or assembly. I'm really loving the extra space.
@@MatthewEncina Just an idea, but if there's enough room, you could mount a camera under the cabinets to get overhead shots for stuff on the desk...maybe for unboxings or thing like that.
"Not how this idea came to me, but I decided to use magnets" Come on Matt, we all know it's because you're a creative genius 😉 This was an absolute pleasure to watch!
I’m forever amazed by this guy. I envy his DIY skills (& budget). haha. He’s definitely one of my go-to inspo for my space. I even painted my accent wall gray because of his previous setup. Excellent work as usual Matthew! 👌
Thank you. This project only took $500, so was the most moderately priced part of the office. But it was the most time intensive, trying to figure it out.
Step one: grab a cup of coffee Step two: open up UA-cam Step three: hit the like button! Step four: Sit back and enjoy another Matthew Encina DIY project. Love your inspiring and creative vids!!!
I really like how you don't hide the mess you had before, makes the transformation so much better! Really love this idea of adding a little nook and desk space!
Nothing like a fresh cup of coffee and the Matthew Encina DIY video to start my days off, as a creator I feel truly inspired by each and everyone of your videos. Thanks for all the art, bro. ☕️.
It’s so refreshing to see this young guy using his skills to make his place more comfortable and efficient! Good for him! Talented and with good taste!!
I'm amazed of the hardwork you've always put into your videos. It only shows how passionate you are for what you do and how you really love your audience.
To be honestly with you, i came here because of the viral video you made 2 years ago, i dont find that video very helpful, but after seeing your recent postings, man your skills are getting unbelieveably better and better, well done man, keep up the good work!
Thanks! It was a lesson learned that I hopefully won't forget about. I saved the pipe as a "bonehead award" and displayed it along side my other industry awards 😅
Those ikea peg boards are the shit!!! I bought one and placed it next to my mirror in the bedroom and it has all my cologne, chains, deodorant, lotions. Everything I use on the daily. They're like 10 bucks, and the hooks are like 3 bucks for a 5 pack. One of the most convenient stuff I've ever bought.
You having to appreciate that water pipe delay was somewhat very thoughtful for me. Not many people have the mindset like you. Btw this is such a cool build, inspiring me to do an experimentation on mine😆
You sense of space and style is the only thing that can put preform your cinematography. This is probably your best work yet… you are in foraging me to redo my house.
I'm just listening to this whilst doing my easy work on sunday. It's not just informational but it's also relaxing. You get two for a price of one! I just bought a new house so this will give me a bunch of ideas on how set up my work space up. Thanks!
Finally! This is the first time I've seen anyone show/use pre-made sliders and I'm here for it, lol. I have a series of diy shelving that I would like to add sliding doors, but wasn't sure how it would look. I am happy to see you did so successfully. Thank you! You have a new subscriber 🙂
You’re welcome. Check out some of my recent videos, where I built out more storage. I used the same sliders in a slightly better way (inset, leveled with bottom, rather than glued on top). It’s better for taking things in and out.
Production quality is insane and the chilled vibes keep getting better and better! Keep up the good work man. Also, the time lapses in all your videos look amazing!
Thanks for showing the mistake with the water pipe and how to fix it. It's definitely something that wouldn't have occurred to me if I tried to DIY this kind of project myself. Awesome remodeling!
I'm an art director in an advertising agency, and I ended up like you doing woodwork, paint, demolition and construction in my room, But I did not quit from the agency and devote myself to freelance work like you, I work both together, trying not to lose my job and in parallel I work in free projects outside the agency. Is this good? Or I think I'll quit graphic design and start carpentry 😂😂 You did great job here Matthew, you are genius 🤗
I’ve had a home office for a number of years, however it’s organization looks like the way your office used to look. Can’t wait to get things cleaned and minimized. I have a great desk, just never finished the cabinets under it, and I have shelves above. Time to get to cleaning my space up! Thanks for the inspiration.
oh my, your room has transformed soo soo much ever since i watched your first desk setup/first room transformation. really dig the aesthetic & minimalism you aim for, honestly one of the best (:
My heart sank when you said you drilled into a pipe! I've personally drilled a magentic knife rack into an electric line and had a pipe burst all on it's own which flooded my bathroom. They were both terrifying experiences and honestly you handled them both really well! Final design is badass and looks stunning! Keep up the good work my dude 😎🤟
I've been wanting to create a tech closet in our apartment for ages and when I saw you were working on one, I held off doing anything as I knew you'd have some amazing ideas. Love those sliding door tracks you found, will definitely be looking into doing something similar!
Aww that's sweet. One thing I would consider for your tech closet: ventilation. I think I barely have enough, but you make consider vents in the door or top of your structure. If you have high heat generating items.
@@MatthewEncina Great advice-- I'll be storing our media server in there so will have to look into that. Good to hear that NAS isn't overheating too much in your solution though!
Dude….Amazing! Your combination of learning wood working through teaching yourself and doing it to your spaces and your amazing storytelling and video skills. You are one of my favorite you tubers to watch! Keep up all these room builds!

I love these types of videos they are so inspiring and aesthetically pleasing. I discovered Notion about 2 years ago in one of your videos and I've been using it ever since.
