Thanks for these EXCELLENT memories ❤❤❤ A VOICE IN THE MALL revisited September 11. 2024❤❤❤ My Mother's Favorite Television program ❤
The writing team was probably the best ever assembled, and Sid was just plain amazing. Howie Morris was the unsung hero who could play any role thrown at him. I never saw the show when it was on TV, although I was around in those days and just a kid who wouldn't have much appreciation of it. I'm so glad that we can see it now. Thanks VERY much for posting it. Now, I've got to see if you have more of them!
Without a doubt and it’s amazing that the apex of TV comedy was 70 years ago.
I agree. I look forward to seeing the replays on youtube. When I was a kid I didn't understand what was so funny about the skits. Now I laugh out loud. :-)
Thank you for sharing. Time well spent.
Imagine watching this on your Philco 10” TV. How amazing.
Thanks for maintaining the original aspect ratio.
Wow!! 90 minutes, LIVE, on Saturday, with a host(ess), a musical guest! Saturday Night Live was taking notes!!
Nice... I've never seen this episode!
But SNL didn’t come close.
Imogene Coca's Opera singer performance is unique, rare and hilarious. Though absolutely a comic performance, her physical and vocal ability to sing the piece is memorable and impressive.(@ 55:40)
This show was broadcast on February 5, 1954, according to Karen J. Harvey's book "Sid Caesar and Your Show of Shows."
Carl Reiner was only in his early thirties...
That Rambler Gambler song piece was amazing
They should have put this on that expensive Sid Caesar Works. So great seeing the show in territic resolution as a full episode
Looks like this was shot on film directly rather than a kinescope.
omg this is so funny.
I was 4.probaly my parents watched it
In the Saturday night CAR and RESTAURANT Sketch - who is the blonde lady? She looks like Margaret Truman but her nose is not right. ♥
It's Kitty Carlisle.
The blonde lady is indeed Margaret Truman.
Was this a film of the live performance a la I Love Lucy rather thsn a kine from the live tv transmission?
