New Soup 2 (NSMB2) it's a fun game but lacks a lot, and the coin gimmick while fun, isn't interesting when the reward is lame, The DLC and coin rush is fun tho,.more fun than the base game, and the tanooki suit and pow blocka returning is nice (Just wished we got more smb2 usa stuff but eh, Maybe i am just a nerd)

Speaking of 2D Mario games, including fan games. I highly recommend Super Mario Bros X. The original creator is the creator of Terraria, and it has most elements from the first 4 Mario games, and some new ones. SMBX 2 has a ton more characters to play as and more items, and not to mention the level editor.
I love how the Canadian rat officer in the Newer DS video sounds like a Canadian from South Park, lmao. Anywho, my favorite official NSMB game would be Luigi U (with Wii coming in at a *VERY* close second) and my favorite of the two main mods would be Newer DS.
I’m just gonna go ahead and say it… the reason why people love NSBWii is only because of nostalgia. NSMBU is the best one in the series. And if more people had it, it’d be the nostalgia wiper instead of NSMBWii. Like seriously, how could you love NSMBWii, but hate NSMBU? Editor’s Note: I realized that another reason why people don’t like U is because not a lot changed compared to Wii, despite having a 3 year gap. But that shouldn’t matter because it still feels like an improved game over Wii. Also a lot of people played the Switch version, which is the worse version of the game, especially for the fact that it’s SIXTY FREAKING DOLLARS where the original you can currently get for only $20 with the bundle of the original and New Super Luigi U.
@Ninblasto I definitely agree with your statement. I posted I comment similar to yours and I think that U is better because it has more and wii has less. I wouldn’t say that at least Demeech loves it because wii inavated the series. But U has that and more.
Because NSMBU is exactly the same as the Wii or any NSMB games. Yeah. It does do some things different from it's predecessors. Like the open world map, the baby Yoshi's, Nabbit mission & the princess being hostage at the castle rather than taking her to Bowser's Castle. But aside from those, it's the same thing. It has the same structure, same level designs, same old theme that we've also seen in other games, same of saving the princess again, same content, etc. If NSMBU would've been totally different than how the previous NSMB games were, than I'm pretty sure it would've been the best of the series.
@jaretco6423 yes, agreed. But Wii copied from DS and Wii U copied from Wii. The DS one is the most creative and original of course, but U is better than Wii in nearly every way. It may be Wii again but at least U fixed some of the issues the Wii had. And let's be honest. If Wii came out after U, it would have been a big step backwards.
Personally, I really liked the first one. And wii was nice. But then it kept going. And going. And going. Then it began to infect the other franchises. Paper Mario, DKC, tons of other mario games and even ones that weren't mario at all (sonic lost world for example) were infected by the NSMB virus. What once was a series stylistically distinct and experimental, began to boil down all around it to a similar fashion. NSMB was a good game. It's consequences were awful.
The “New” Mario game series was my first introduction to the world of Super Mario Bros games, and one that I can replay for years to come. Nostalgia aside, the series itself did end up getting worse with every new entry, not being able to replicate the vibe of the DS and Wii game. I might be the only one that thinks this, but I'm just gonna say it. The original New Super Mario Bros for the DS should've been the one you could use in Super Mario Maker and it's sequel.

@@gameguy959 I do understand your point, but I think that U is just the definitive form of the NSMB style graphics. It's just a natural growth of the artstyle started in the DS game. It's still technically the same style. It also just adds to the moveset if it's the Wii/U moveset as opposed to the handhelds
@@revolv8379 I get what you mean, it does look nice, but the one on the DS had everything U has with the exception of the Koopalings and the power-ups, plus ot would ne cool if they added DS's original bosses sort of like what they did for the Super Mario 3D World style
I really hope the creativity of Mario Wonder, Super Mario RPG remake and the unnamed Peach means a better future for RPGs, maybe that could be a video!
Funny enough I actually recently played new Super Mario Brothers 2 and although it's very easy to get lifes and impossible to get a game over I got to say there are a lot of levels in the game that are really fun. Although the music is pretty much ripping off new Super Mario Brothers Wii I do like some of the remixes they add in the 3DS version.
The series itself was fine, its that it became a series at all that was an issue and on top of that, they just didn't do anything with the games, relying on a new gimmick instead of making an actual new game. DS was exactly what it should have been. It added new powerups, a return to 2D form that we hadn't seen since Mario World on SNES over a decade earlier (barring ports and rereleases), new bosses, etc. It was as the name implied, a NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii was a bit samey but being the second game and scaling up the level design with new functions you couldn't do on the DS made it stand out enough, and the propeller suit was awesome with the Penguin and Ice Flower being neat new powerups. 2 was when things started really getting overreliant on gimmicks, just borrowing the racoon leaf from 3 (or rather 3D Land but using the actual racoon leaf instead of the tanooki suit) and made it all about coins. It was excessively easy and excessively boring U did fuck all to make anything remotely interesting and just treaded through the same old world themes with the same old powerups with one new lame flying squirrel one and really was only noteworthy for being able to screw around your friends with the gamepad. DS and Wii should have remained. 2 and U were where we needed to stop.
In terms of level design, New Super Mario Bros Wii & U are definitely my go-to's. These games introduced significantly better level design than any of the previous games, alongside better presentation, worlds, power-ups, bosses, etc. Not to mention 4-player co-op, too. The handheld games are also fun, and I hold a lot of nostalgia for the original, through from a quality standpoint, I definitely prefer the console games. As for Newer Super Mario Bros Wii, well, that game just blew everything out of the water, and is arguably my favorite game of all time. Truly 2D Mario at his peak and an epic platforming adventure at that!
Smb 3 and Sm world were leagues better in terms of level design, the peak was there. Althoutgh i gotta give credit to the new series for introducing many quality of life features to the core gameplay. Anyway, the new series by the 20th of october will be only a far cry
U Deluxe is the best in the series by far. I understand saying it’s lazy, but it had the best levels, the most power ups, the largest amount of content combining two games into one and adding more content, and it is just the best in the series. Most only say it’s bad because it’s unoriginal, and if that’s the only complaint then that shows it’s good.
U Deluxe actually removed content then add it. They removed a lot of the extra modes. All U deluxe did was make you be able to select all the different characters. The only difference between U and Deluxe is the addition of Luigi U, which you will be playing 99% of the time since that games actually good.
7:14 This reminds me of a time in Health Class in my old school where we watched a Ted Talk about how unhealthy school food was in class and then the teacher would pause and say, "Thankfully, our school strives to have lunches healthier than any other school and are balanced and good for you unlike other schools!" Despite this, it was the most disgusting school food that I've ever seen and students throwing up all over the floor was an almost daily occurrence!
Congrats on getting a sponsor! Thanks for adding time stamps too, makes it easier to digest this mighty Mario feast of a video! Definitely an interesting saga in Mario's history. Part of me likes these games, the original and Wii, and another part of me despises the New series for its impact and sterilization of Mario for a while. Good games, but they had a bad impact on the series.
I'm rather curious as to how this rating system works. Aside from those one-off rankings, I suspect Platinum treasure is great, gold treasure is good, silver treasure is decent and bronze treasure is okay. So how am I going so far?

I like New Super Mario bros DS. And New super mario bros U and Luigi u. Overall I think the New super Mario bros series is solid. I like all the games in the series but the 3 I mentioned are far better than the others. Point is, these 3 games are a solid fun time. Definitely worth replaying. Can’t wait for the new 2D spin wonder is gonna show us!
I'd agree with most of this, realistically imo the only truly original official non-mobile nsmb games were Wii and DS due to them actually being the games that added stuff. Most of the things that came after are what made them look mostly bland
My least favorite New Mario was Wii U. It's the only one I couldn't get into enough to beat, and it's where the New series jumped the shark and became too long in the tooth, if you ask me.
DS- the best in the series with an actual interesting artstyle, interesting and creative levels, cool power ups like the blue shell and mega mushroom and the absence of a flight power up is good as you can’t just cheese the levels, new enemies and bosses, the best soundtrack out the lot and fun mini games to top it off along with a very fun Mario V Luigi game mode - definitely the most original and fun NSMB WII- Great Level design, great new power ups like the Penguin Suit and propeller mushroom, good music , a good artstyle as at the time it wasn’t overused and feels like it has some soul put in to it, using the same level themes is bad and they could’ve easily used new ones, using the koopalings was fine as at the time that was a nice throwback and the Co-Op is quite fun - Very good basic and fun Mario game with some fun twists 3DS(2)- Good level design however the re use of level themes was getting old and made the game feel like a worse version of Wii especially because of the re use of the koopalings and the same artstyle just with more vibrant colours however as a stand alone game it’s good and is a Mario game at its most basic however the soundtrack isn’t the best - A good Mario Game and Mario at his most basic WIIU- Decent level design however it gets boring too fast, I can only really get through two worlds before it starts feeling like a mindless chore however the level themes feel sort of new as some levels do feel new, the new power up is nice but we could’ve used some more especially since it’s in the same game as the propeller mushroom rendering it sort of useless the koopalings are quite boring and the soundtrack is pretty much the same as Wii along with the graphics however in HD they just feel more bland, it’s sad that on the same console as Mario kart 8, NSMBU has Mario with visible polygons especially on the face but graphics don’t really matter - Barley just better than 2 in terms of the series but on its own it’s a pretty good mario game In conclusion - DS should’ve been it’s own game and is underrated due to being a “new super” game, Wii should stay as a new super game and 2 and U either shouldn’t exist or shouldn’t be associated with Wii and DS
Well I am not gonna cover up all of the NSMB games in a long review cause I don't have the time for that but put it like this I think DS is overall a solid game that while not too ambitious is still great time, wii is defeintley the best is maybe generic as it's predecessor but I give credit for pretty much being far more expanded in really everything heck the story is really solid too, 2 on the other hand I say is the lamest 2d mario game it maybe have a compact level design but I say it overall try to be too safe and hold the hand too much, U is good defenitley pick it up over 2 but I feel like it trying to be too safe too just on a bigger scale, and I know the deluxe version isn't really great and even lamer and really the only reason to play it if you want NSMBU on the go while I give credit the first two introdouce me to mario I say I happy wonder gonna shake things up
I wish the nsmb2 levels were longer tho. I get they kept them short to better fit with the portable console design philosophy but it feels a little too short imo
My Opinions of the nsmb games: DS: great Wii: Awesome! 2: Lazy and gets boring U: Good game but can get boring Luigi U: great challenging game Mario run: Basically a worse version of NSMBU Nsmbu deluxe: took both nsmbu and nslu and added nothing really new into them except adding 2 new characters.
I have wanted to see a gaint Mario for years prior to New Super Mario Bros because of Tiny Toons Mario skit. They dropped the ball with the mega mushroom.

WII- Great Level design, great new power ups like the Penguin Suit and propeller mushroom, good music , a good artstyle as at the time it wasn’t overused and feels like it has some soul put in to it, using the same level themes is bad and they could’ve easily used new ones, using the koopalings was fine as at the time that was a nice throwback and the Co-Op is quite fun - Very good basic and fun Mario game with some fun twists
3DS(2)- Good level design however the re use of level themes was getting old and made the game feel like a worse version of Wii especially because of the re use of the koopalings and the same artstyle just with more vibrant colours however as a stand alone game it’s good and is a Mario game at its most basic however the soundtrack isn’t the best - A good Mario Game and Mario at his most basic
WIIU- Decent level design however it gets boring too fast, I can only really get through two worlds before it starts feeling like a mindless chore however the level themes feel sort of new as some levels do feel new, the new power up is nice but we could’ve used some more especially since it’s in the same game as the propeller mushroom rendering it sort of useless the koopalings are quite boring and the soundtrack is pretty much the same as Wii along with the graphics however in HD they just feel more bland, it’s sad that on the same console as Mario kart 8, NSMBU has Mario with visible polygons especially on the face but graphics don’t really matter - Barley just better than 2 in terms of the series but on its own it’s a pretty good mario game
In conclusion - DS should’ve been it’s own game and is underrated due to being a “new super” game, Wii should stay as a new super game and 2 and U either shouldn’t exist or shouldn’t be associated with Wii and DS
Well I am not gonna cover up all of the NSMB games in a long review cause I don't have the time for that but put it like this I think DS is overall a solid game that while not too ambitious is still great time, wii is defeintley the best is maybe generic as it's predecessor but I give credit for pretty much being far more expanded in really everything heck the story is really solid too, 2 on the other hand I say is the lamest 2d mario game it maybe have a compact level design but I say it overall try to be too safe and hold the hand too much, U is good defenitley pick it up over 2 but I feel like it trying to be too safe too just on a bigger scale, and I know the deluxe version isn't really great and even lamer and really the only reason to play it if you want NSMBU on the go while I give credit the first two introdouce me to mario I say I happy wonder gonna shake things up
I'd never played Mario vs Luigi till recently with my freind and his 3ds XL and me with my dsi

New soup 2 was my favourite, had the tightest level design whilst not being way to big due to multiplayer design
I wish the nsmb2 levels were longer tho. I get they kept them short to better fit with the portable console design philosophy but it feels a little too short imo

Great video Demeech 👍
NSMB2 is the jokey Version of NSMBWii And NSMBWii if it turned gay and on drugs
My Opinions of the nsmb games:
DS: great
Wii: Awesome!
2: Lazy and gets boring
U: Good game but can get boring
Luigi U: great challenging game
Mario run: Basically a worse version of NSMBU
Nsmbu deluxe: took both nsmbu and nslu and added nothing really new into them except adding 2 new characters.
Plus New Super Mario Bros 2 had a music called lahs but just ripp the New Super Mario Bros Wii overworld
i hate how much this guy complains
A fan of something Is it's most raw critic
I have wanted to see a gaint Mario for years prior to New Super Mario Bros because of Tiny Toons Mario skit. They dropped the ball with the mega mushroom.
