Legend…..my god bless Soviet legend , as gordie Howe Canadians have gordie we have him god bless hockey that brings people from all over the world too honor each other thank you
Even though I am not a fan of Bobby Clarke, I must admit that he is correct in his statement of Yakushev. He was always one player that a youngster would want to emulate while playing shinny hockey. Yakushev was one class act to watch. For a player as tall as he is he was quite smooth and somewhat agile on the ice. Something that many defencemen probably wouldn't have expected given his height. I'll admit that back in '72 and the early to mid-70s, whilst playing shinny hockey with my friends growing up I almost always wanted to emulate Alexander Yakushev. I find that the friendships that formed and grew between the once adversaries of The 1972 Summit Series are truly fantastic to see.
Although Valeri Kharlamov was considered by most to be the best player on the Soviet national team, I always had a feeling of impending doom when Alexander Yakushev had the puck. To me, he was the most dangerous Soviet player on the ice, more so than Kharlamov. Much respect from this long time hockey fan.
There have been a number of non-NHL players and builders that have been inducted, such as Vladislav Tretiak, Valeri Kharlamov, Anatoly Tarasov, and Clare Drake.
Якушев действительно величайший хоккеист. Мощный, с чуйкой на голевыве моменты. Талант.
Yakushev is a class act...I liked him from the first time i saw him play...he is a true sportsman and a great ambassador of the game!
His goal in Game 1 in 72 was amazingly beautiful.

Big red machine
Yakushev was an amazing player, I thought however it was supposed to be only for NHL player to get there?

Он играл против лучших, элитных игроков НХЛ и уделовал их как мальчишек. Он лучший бомбардир сборной в Суперсерии 1972 года.
