I have no problem with how you handled her in the last video. I have the same conversations with my daughter. Feels nice knowing I'm not the only one going through this because it feels like it at times. Keep up the great work!
You were not wrong at all. Thats your child. You were not abusive, but firm. Raising teens and pre-teens is not easy. Do what you feel is best. Great job!
You said the right thing in your last video, some people are very sensitive and there is nothing you can do about that. You are a responsible parent, and some people are way too laxed and their children suffer from it. Kids need order because your boss does not give a care when you mess up, your fired.
Exactly correct she has to do what a mom has to do. If they don't like what she said, don't watch. She is the mom raising her up to be a respectful young lady. So deal with it.😊😊😊
Love you Ell and your transparency with parenting. My 11 year old daughter has similar behaviors as Yoshi. This development stage is tough you hear me. You and I are the same age and I don’t remember being like these new age chirren! Whew Chile…..keep being you because you’re vlogging your real life. Glad your recovery is going well. Yes we the people would love longer vlogs ❤️ ⏳
trust me no one was like these new age chirren! lol the development stage is truly one of the toughest things im dealing with right now and grandmas these days too busy to lay the law down so i am really doing my best! honestly i know im not doing the best cause im a punk when it comes to her but im trying ❤
I totally forgot to comment on your video last week, but the comments are why children now are so sensitive and don’t have tuff skin (I said what I said). A lot of persons failed to realize that’s how us over 30+ and beyond where thought how to be strong. it’s from those chastisement we are able to survive in this world because the world is in fact cruel. I agree with how you handled yoshi in last week’s video, and stressed the importance of her doing her work and being responsible. My father had a saying that stayed with me even as an adult (with opportunities comes responsibilities) and if she wants to be in drama and all her extra curricular activities, she has to prioritize also.
Ooh. Longer vlogs PLEASE! ⌛️ About your parenting, you’re doing such a great job, whoever got triggered, I hope they heal from that. You’re doing great. It’s not always sunshine and butterflies when raising kids, you’re sharing the good, the bad and everything in between. Thank you for sharing. ❤
I have no problem about what you said in your last video. I appreciate you sharing your life and being honest and vulnerable. You can’t make everyone happy and some people are too sensitive. People like to turn things around and make it about them. It’s not your fault They Were Triggered.
I agree. Ellarie you handled that so well. On or off camera these kids don’t like to hear the truth nor do they wanna take responsibility when they do wrong. That’s it that all. Social media has everybody triggered.
I completely understand as a mother of a teen girl. We have to be clear and direct especially when the kid is privileged and are given so much more opportunities we didn't have. You give Yoshi so much love and support, you share her accomplishments and you shared being a responsible black mother when she needed it. You are a real mother with legitimate concerns and i respect your honesty and transparency. Sending positive vibes to you both!
You did good with Zara and how you handled the situation. A lil embarrassment has served us all some good in life, ESPECIALLY when it's mixed with praise and love! I'm a mother of four (between 17-8), so I get it!
Chile parent YOUR child how you want and show what YOU want us to see. If they don’t like it, tell ‘em don’t look!!!! People nowadays are too sensitive. More concerned about being their child’s friend instead of actually being a parent! You did absolutely NOTHING WRONG!!!
Omg cali had me dying when she said “yo mama’s yo maid yo sista yo maid yo daddy yo maid” she had me on the floor kept having to watch that part cause it was to funny for me omg 😭😂😂😂😂. Nori got so big omg I can’t wait until she turns 2 and she grow a lot more teeth omg💝😘.
Where ever I did it is where I got it. Personally I feel that that what's missing bc some of these kids are so disrespectful bc CPS stepped in and gave this kids the go ahead to do whatever with no repercussions for them and everything for the parents
girl these kids these days are built DIFFERENT! It truly makes me sad that lack of responsibility, independence and lack of fear of repercussions they have. i would never try my mom how she try me
Chile dont let these ppl make you feel bad , its your kid 😂 she gotta learn, our parents were worse & some didnt care . She will be ok . Love the vlog❤❤
I am currently at that stage with my daughter and so much of what you said resonated with me. I'm trying to prepare her for the real world but I also know she is spoiled a bit and has a nice life so the lessons I'm trying to teach her I have to remind myself often whenever I get frustrated that she will learn and develop at her own pace but whew chillllleeee! You are a great mom, raise your child the way you see fit. I saw nothing wrong with how you handled it. Unhealed ears will always hear from a place of hurt...
Hi Ellarie🥰 you are doing a great job raising Zara stay firm and loving it will definitely pay off as she grows older as she matures Zara will never forget what she was taught she can carry it throughout her life🤎🤎🤎
Hey !!! Try The Doux products! They are great for her hair type! They have a wash n go line. It’s great! Also the mousse called mousse def. She needs something that’s has a slight gel like hold. But be light with it.
The the Doux Mouse! It works sooo well with no other products needed. It doesn’t leave the hair crunchy, and dries fast. I have 4b-4c hair and love it!
Ellarie My good Sis, You do what you need to do as her Mother!!!!!! You are the only one rising this little one ! Kids don't like anything that doesn't bring them fun ! Life is not a bunch of fun all day !!!!!!! You did right!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I left a comment on the other video too. You’re a good mama and doing the best you know. No one has all the parenting answers and we’re figuring it out along the way. All I would say is, don’t show us the discipline as we may not have the entire context. I think that should be private. Just something to consider is maybe save a convo like that after school. Sometimes I have to bite my tongue in the mornings because I don’t want them to start their school day in a bad mood. She was clearly upset which can affect her productivity, how well she does on a test, her social interactions with classmates. It just can be a domino effect. You weren’t wrong about anything you said. It was the timing of the convo and the camera but it’s really not our business to judge ❤❤
Hi Ellarie, You are a great mom. I didn't see anything wrong with how you handled things with your daughter. You do what is best for your child. You don't owe these people no explanations. One of the main reasons these kids are so disrespectful today is because parents do not discipline their kids. Keep being you and take care of yours the way you see fit.
⏳ I love watching your content. I’ve been watching you since the makeup videos, I even had your lip gloss collection lol. You remind me a lot of my sister. You are you 100% of the time! Keep it coming!! 💛
Honestly I wish my hair looked like yoshi when it’s wet but what I do to “enhance “ my curls is braid out or twist out and the products I like the most is aunt Jackie’s don’t shrink it keeps the hair shiny and gives it a wet look and as I am leave in conditioner too. I hope that helps 🥰
Girl, this generation is sensitive & soft! You don't be hitting that girl & you didn't even curse her out on camera... So I don't see what the issue is. People praise you for being real but then criticize you for keeping your parenting real on camera😅 Can't seem to win for losing, like make it make sense. I think you're doing amazing! I love you & Nori's relationship lol. I think 45min & under vlogs are sweet to me! If every UA-camr made 1hr vlogs, we couldn't find enough time to watch them all😂 Maybe one , 1hr vlog per month wouldn't hurt, but I personally love your current time frame.
All the sensitive folks need to go to therapy to cope with their own stuff. You're doing great and actually showing the realities of motherhood. The kids will test your last nerve and so will folks with their opinions.
People are so weird; I, myself, enjoy real and relatable moments because that is when I connect as a viewer the most. Please continue to do what you’re doing; I believe in correcting my child when she’s wrong in that moment. Whether it’s in private or public, verbally expressing the wrongdoings and my expectations of her, she takes offense to it. My baby is too sensitive, and I will not be walking around on eggshells because she can't handle reproach. I used to get it worse from my mom growing up, so my daughter has it made. 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I agree with everything you said. Parent how you want. Nothing seemed in the wrong to me. Only thing that was wrong was “ yo mama is your maid!” Had me dying lol 😂
You're doing a great job Mom. And the people who were triggered need to get their lives together. You're raising a teenager and you have to guide her so she can learn these things now. So she can stand on her own. And at least you know that you have done everything you can to help her along.
My daughter's hair is just like Zara's. I use Bee Girl honey curl custard. Day one hair is a little crunchy, but it relaxes as time passes and the curls last at least a week.
Them parents are SENSITIVE and have issues. That is why some of these kids out here killing people because they don’t get disciplined!!! YOU DO YOU!!! That is your child and this is your channel! If they don’t like it, they don’t have to watch! I LOVE EVERYTHING about you and your channel!!!
Giiiirrlllaaa you are doing what you know to do for your child. At first, I thought I was the only but I’m glad to know that I’m not. It actually got to the point where I had to go up to the school and sit in classes because I’m THAT mom! She had went through some heavy transitions but even with therapy and extracurricular as an outlet she had to get it together! The ones that get it get!!!!
lol girl so far all i know is it smells like i sprayed a bougie spa on my face and the mist is really fine so it may last a while so thats good! i gotta keep using to notice more
The word “triggered” is sooo overused. This is your channel. We all have some type of childhood trauma. However, nobody has to tiptoe around our feelings for the sake of not being “offensive”. If people don’t like the way that you parent, they don’t have to watch you. Simple. As an educator, parents like you are very appreciated. That’s why Zara doesn’t act up in school, bc she KNOWS better. You’re a great mom❤️
Agreed. Everyone is not going to agree with you. Whether they’ve worked through their trauma or not. That’s ok. They can agree to disagree. I personally enjoy having that content. I have niece I am helping to rear, and they are close in age doing the same things. We watch your videos together a lot, and we actually have conversations about this very topic and its importance to stay on top of your school work etc. I’ve never used the product you were asking about. We love when El gives us the ⏳vlogs.
Lookin at her curls on the sides, it doesn’t look as coily as 4C..but we can also have different hair types in different parts of our head. Also, the products you use are gonna be more based on her hair’s porosity than her hair type..try the cup of water test to determine whether her hair is high, med, or low porosity I think going through finger coiling her hair with the product may produce better results than raking the product through her hair if that makes sense. ☺️
Wow! No way. I made my 6 y/o daughter watch. Not to be a "bully, rude, chastise, etc." But for her to understand what truly is important. I agree with your last vlog. You good 👍🏾
Hi , is there any way I can get my hands on the lipstick “Hennyways” from when you collabed with Colourpop? I really need it. Ran out after stocking up years ago and can’t find a dupe anywhere!
I’m 25 and came from an abusive household and am an older sibling who has chastised my younger ones . This particular conversation was not bullying or traumatic at ALL. You literally were saying that she needs to get school together before doing extra curriculars
You didn’t say anything wrong your last video. Sometimes you have to put things on blast asap so you can fix the problem right then and there. Your daughter will definitely understand and respect you more as she gets older in life. You’re doing a great job as a parent so don’t let these people discredit your parenting. Also yes the caudalie face spray is really good but I’ve had cheaper ones work just as good.
Girl , you weren't wrong. You are a great parent, you are doing what needs to be done in order to raise a productive, kind, and respectful young adult. For those who were 'triggered", they will get over it, they are not your responsibility. You need to nip the rolling of the eyes, smart comments, etc in the bud now as it will only get worse. The teenage years bring on the "I know more than you and the "I'm going to do it how I want attitude". I don't think the way you speak to her is inappropriate or disrespectful, she has no problem jumping in when you are filming and it doesn't even involves her, so she shouldn't complain when you need to parent on camera. When you need to really make your point (in your serious mother tone) you have turned off the camera as so not to embarrass her. As for your breakdowns, I've had them too when I was a single parent. Every once in awhile you need those (and a good cry), especially when you don't have someone to give you the break that you need. Keep doing what your doing, she will get it, it will just take some time and consistency. She just needs reminders that she is not an adult or one of her school friends. ⏳
Yeah. I have a look that I give kids and they know to stop whatever it is they are doing because they know I follow-through on the look and they will not like it.
I don’t see the issue with how you handle Yoshi in the last video. I have an almost 13 year old as well, so those who get it, get it…..I literally laughed out loud watching you chase after Bertha 😂😂😂 oh and ⌛️⏳⌛️⏳
Some people are just very sensitive. I don’t think you were wrong in your last video if that’s how you wanna raise your child if that’s what you wanna put on the camera put whatever you wanna put on your camera because teens are not easy to raise and I don’t even think it was an abuse of what you did and they need to stop if they don’t wanna do that to their child then they don’t have to but they don’t control what you do but you’re a good mom❤😊
People bringing up laws relating to the situation definitely did too much lol. I think considering your content is usually titled mom vlog it makes sense that discipline might be sprinkled in. I did share my opinion on the last vlog but I don’t think the situation was so deep that I would have if you hadn’t asked. For what it’s worth it’s very clear that you’re a great mom and auntie. I don’t even have kids and I personally enjoy seeing you navigate motherhood.
Naw El you was very correct and right on the last video, don't put the camera down that's what's wrong with ppl now they are soft on their kids. Wherever you act up is where the correction will be period, ppl act like you were cussing her out and belittling her, she was acting up in school and you got it together and in this video, Cali needed it too lmbo...as a single mom of 4 you are doing great issa balance with these kids!
Try the black hair care products. Like ; Tracee Ellis Ross, Taraji P. Henson and Beyoncé new hair care products.. ❤❤❤They should work for y’all hair..✝️💟☮️💖
Nah these people being extra . Some kids will not like their behavior corrected in front of people for anythingggggg and that’s more damaging. Like you reiterated, it’s the lighter stuff like past due homework so they need to relax lol. Yoshi has always given perfect child and we love that for her but stepping into high school era takes a lot of action correcting , you’re doing great Ellarie🫶🏽
I have no problem with how you handled her in the last video. I have the same conversations with my daughter. Feels nice knowing I'm not the only one going through this because it feels like it at times. Keep up the great work!

for yoshi's hair try using a botanical gel or foam and then have her sit under the dryer for it dry like 80-90% of the way and then it should stay!

Caudalie is really good, I use there brightening dark spot serum. You are doing great Mom, Yoshi will thank you later.
There was absolutely nothing wrong w/ the convo you had with your daughter last week. When she's older, she'll realized that.
Longer please they short ones feel a little cram...LOL
lol i dont be cramin tho this be all the footage i got! I gotta just try to keep the camera out longer
Yes longer videos!! ⏳
Can u do 4 kids for the day pls pls
omg!
I have REAL tears Nori was on her way baby 🤣
That’s a good idea for the save money ideas
I love the 30-40 minute vlogs but I won’t complain if they are longer ⏳
Yes, long vlogs ⏳
❤❤❤
Love your parenting && yes girl YOLO 🎉❤️😂
⏳⏳⏳
Yeah. I have a look that I give kids and they know to stop whatever it is they are doing because they know I follow-through on the look and they will not like it.
i try the look thing! my auntie and mom had one but these kids be lookin at me like 'what you lookin at!'😅
@@EllarieExactly, the look don’t work no more 😭😭

I don’t see the issue with how you handle Yoshi in the last video. I have an almost 13 year old as well, so those who get it, get it…..I literally laughed out loud watching you chase after Bertha 😂😂😂 oh and ⌛️⏳⌛️⏳
I love you ell.
love ya back!
@@Ellarie ❤️
I want to see Callies easter Sunday performance! Please.

Once in a while ⏳
the baby looks like cali smmm
She has 4b hair, you could do eco styling with a wash and go
Nah these people being extra . Some kids will not like their behavior corrected in front of people for anythingggggg and that’s more damaging. Like you reiterated, it’s the lighter stuff like past due homework so they need to relax lol. Yoshi has always given perfect child and we love that for her but stepping into high school era takes a lot of action correcting , you’re doing great Ellarie🫶🏽
thank yoooooooooooou! i got yoshi lookin perfect thats wild lol
You and yoshi are two pretty girls
